Any social activities, or get togethers, this time of year in Missouri?

It's definately way too cold for anything outside right now. Being new to MO and having a wife that hasn't been in the social nudist areas, do you know how Show Me Acres is for introduction into social situations. She's really quite shy even in the textile world meeting people. I'm hoping to introduce her next Spring/Summer when it's warm enough for us to go some place for the weekend. Thanks for your in put.

friendlynudist: Show Me Acres is a very nice facility. I visited there one day a couple of winters ago to check it out. Since hardly anyone was there they let me look around. They do not allow singles. I'm married, but my wife is not into social activities like these. When I sought to do a day visit last year last summer, they would not allow me in alone. Unfortunate. I have visited several other camps alone without any problem. I'm sure they would be very friendly and welcoming if both you and your wife went together. A lot of us are married, but single, when our wives do not desire to participate, so we are left out (in the cold) so to speak. /infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Show Me Acres is owned by a very fine, moral, friendly, middle age couple who live on the premises. The resort is not open in the wintertime. In the summertime, it is open only for the weekends. I think that the first Sunday of each month they have a pot-luck dinner, so attend when they have their pot-luck, if you would like this type socializing. The type of people who are attracted to this resort are nice, courteous type people from around this region. As was advised in the previous post, you would not to be admitteed without your wife. You are expected to contact them first. Have a good time.

You couldn't pick a better venue to introduce a shy lady (or man, or children) to nudism. At SMA she can remain clothed for as long as she likes, the whole visit even, and everyone will still welcome her. This place has the best policy I've ever seen for gently introducing newcomers to the fun. No textiles are allowed in the pool or hot tub, but anywhere else is fine.

Here's hoping you can get her to come in the spring. Opening is the first weekend in May, I believe.

Good luck, and welcome again.

The monthly pot-luck has been changed from the first Sunday to the first Saturday of each month, to accommodate people who can't make it on Sundays. Also, it now lasts both days, since there is always so much food to use up. The pot-luck is a function of the Show Me Naturists non-landed club, which predates SMA, but everyone is welcome to participate even if you don't bring something the first time; there is always plenty.

EDIT: The Show Me Naturists have a web site (http://show-me-naturist.tripod.com/) you could visit. The owners of Show Me Acres are/were members of SMN before they aquired their SMA property, and the pot-lucks were a club event there before it was opened to the public.

Do you know about the Heartland group in KC (Lenexa) and their monthly swims? These are great and we even have traveled from Des Moines to attend since we do not have anything similar. Find them on AANR.COM

Just learned of a new naturist campground near Memphis MO, just south of the Iowa border. It may be further from you than FortyArces but it's good news for us in Iowa. They plan to open on Memorial Day and so far do not have a website. Friends were there last week and I've seen pics.
Will post more when I know it.

Do you know the name or contact information for the new nudist spot near Memphis,MO? If it is a nice place I might try being a social nudist for the first time.

If anyone here likes canuding, I know a nudist couple that live in the Buffalo area that have a private primitive campground on a river and they do a little canoe outfitting. I can't wait to get back to visit this summer!
His name is "Jay" and you can drop him a line at ....
