Hello All!
I am new to this and was just wondering if there are any other obese people that were nudists. I am 38 year old male, I weigh 450 lbs and I love being nude. I am embarrased so I am only nude at home.

There are a lot of obese people in nudism. No problem.

I am 41 and overweight. Never had a problem at nudist venues. Once you're in a room full of nudists, people care more about your personality than your weight.
Anyone who has an issue with your weight nude are the same people who will have an issue with you fully dressed. In other words, they're shallow and
not very nice.

I used to be a member of a club where an extremely obese fellow there remarked, "Nudists are the only people I've found who never criticize me for my weight."
Nudists are the antithesis of those who allow themselves to be brainwashed by the "perfect body" image falsely projected by Hollywood and Madison Avenue.

Very well put, I have to agree with what you say. You have nothing to hide when your nude.

The nice thing about nudists is that most of them are having too much fun to care what other people look like.
Some of the nicest people I know are what society (media anyway) considers over weight.
I just might be one of them.

The only problem I would have is that true obesity is a major health risk. This isn't something to play around with and just allow it to continue. Diabetes and other very serious illnesses can result from being too much overweight. This isn't about asthetics, but about a major health issue here in the U.S.
I let my weight get a bit too high and have been making a serious effort to lose 25 to 30 pounds. So far I have lost 17 pounds. This is about avoiding additional health problems as I get older.

Everyone is so right. I'm a big guy and even though a bit uncomfortable with my weight personally, nudists just don't seem to care from what I have noticed.
Maybe if you can get the strength to go to a nudist event you will be much more comfortable. Maybe find out if there is a nudist group in your city and attend a clothed mixer to meet people and then decide if you can go further.

Nudism is a way of life, not a way of judging people. I do agree extremely heavy weight is a very bad health problem but that is the only negative of being heavy.
As we grow older we all gain those extra pounds and they are so very hard to control. Have cut down to half a cow a week now and still having trouble keeping slim. We gain habits that need culturing as we get on in age as part of getting older.
Those who take offense to size are guilty of prejudice, simple as that. But we can't seem to overcome the prejudice people have on so many other issues so just deal with it kindly, be better than them by doing so and smile! That drives them crazy !
Life goes on and so do we.

The amazing thing is the almost 'sick' obsession with being pencil thin that the media portrays in a society that is anything but. It seems really odd that a society that is supposedly 70 percent overweight or obese seems to have so many people who judge others based upon weight. Where are all these people who judge others coming from and are they so perfect that they feel entitled to judge others?

I was obese but becoming a nudist helped me lose weight. I kept seeing myself in the mirror naked and realized I was one french fry from a heart attack that I might not recover from. I have lost half a person and am much healthier just because of the double wide body I kept seeing in the mirror

Iam also over weight and love being naked. I will never forget how scared I was the first time I went to a nudist resort, unreal. Nobody cares, I felt so welcome and I have been going for the last 3 years now, not as much as I would love though. Everyone was so nice. Every time I go I make new friends. And for me, I quit smoking because I want to be naked as long as I can!!! And Iam slowly starting to lose weight because Iam starting to love myself more. Dont wait another day, take your clothes off and let your new life begin!!! http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
