What is one show you would like to see put pack on tv that is not on tv now. I don't know if these two are on anywhere but I would choose:
1. Different Strokes
2. the Smurfs (I know, I know...childhood favorite...can't let go!)

Oh wait, the question was what would I like to see put back on television? There are a few: Mystery Science Theater 3000, Freaks and Geeks, Family Guy (oh wait, got my wish on that one!). And while we're at it, some new episodes of Aqua Teen Hunger Force plz. Thanks much.

I'd like to see back (or at least on late-night cable):

- Buck Rogers in the 21st Century
- Wonder Woman
- BJ and the Bear

There was also a japanese show on TBS (??) in the late 70's; it had a family that could turn themselves into rockets. The father's name was Goldar, and mother's Silvar (??). There was also an evil guy who kept bringing monsters from outer space to destroy the earth. Can anyone remember that show's name?? I loved, loved, loved it!!!

I used to love "Please Don't Eat the Daisies," "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir," and "Ultraman -- not the crappy cartoon, the live-action show). But with the advent of satellite and cable, almost anything ever made is available somewhere at some time.

My choices:

Knots Landing

Star trek (all of them), Buffy, Angel, and my all time favorite Dr. Who. I'm told it actually has come back but only in the U.K. Sci-fi channel considered running it and didn't. Hopefully it will cross the pond at some point until then the videos/dvd's are on my Christmas wish list.

Firefly (which is being released as a movie called "Serenity" this year)

Jon71, if you like Buffy & Angel you'll like Firefly. Its by the same guy Joss Wedden.

Firefly is a western sci-fi. Very cool.

I'll agree with David.

Red Skelton Show
Carol Barnett Show, etc.

If they would bring back the Comedy/Variety Show genre, I'd even buy a television.

The Walton's. (But they're all grown up now.)
Dukes of Hazzard. (Slapstick comedy, with NO stupid machine to tell when you're supposed to laugh.)

Except I'd never know it; I divorced my relationship with the boob-tube around Easter 1998.

Alf was very funny and Im sure my kids would love that show

Well, my favorite shows from the past are:

The Adventures of Pete and Pete (Nick)
The Odyssey (Sci-Fi--show origninated from Canada)
Eerie Indiana (NBC)
Mystery Science Theater 3000 (Comedy, Sci-Fi)
You Can't Do That on Television (Nick)

I would like for Star Trek to return to the airwaves with a series set at Starfleet Academy (Post Voyager).

I would like Hollywood to please refrain from reworking classic shows into movie versions. They just don't seem to have a great track record converting hour or half-hour series into two hour movies.

Anyone remember "Voyagers"? It was about a kid who meets this guy who has a little pocket watch type thingy that they use to travel through time. Was a pretty good show. Kind of a precurser to Quantum Leap and Sliders.

I can't remember the exact title but it was a show about some dinosaurs with a baby that said "Not the Mama" when referring to his father. It was a sweet show. Talked about a lot of social issues in a sly and sophisticated way.
__There was also a segment where this mad professor would get his assistant Timmy to stand in front of cannons and blow his head off. To which Baby would comment, "We're going to need a new Timmy".
