View Full Version : RT's BROTHER

Bartamus
06-02-2003, 10:11 PM
I've got some sad news concerning RT's brother.
His car was hit by a drunk driver in Sydney, Australia the other night. He suffered severe
injuries including three broken ribs, a broken collar bone, a broken leg and arm. At last report he was in stable condition.
RT and his brother who posted here as CT are twins. They were raised in a naturist family and like most twins are very, very close. This has not been a good year for them, although only 22, they lost their Dad in January.

On behalf of INA and all us who love them, please let RT know that he and his family are in our prayers and thoughts throughout the
worldwide network of friends served by this forum

RT and CT, sorry to hear of all of your misfortune this year. Hang in there RT. A speedy recovery to CT, and may the rest of the year be brighter.
(Bartamus...Do you think you ask the members for a special day and time to put aside a moment to pray, reflect and light a candle for this family?)

Fortunately, CT is young, which is to his advantage. It will help in his healing and recovery. I've been in many car accidents, but, fortunately, I was never seriously injured.

May God's hand touch him and ease his suffering.

Hey RT, all the best to CT from your fellow Sydneysider!

If he shares the energy and strength you show in your posts I am sure he will pull through.

Drunk drivers make me sick. My mother was almost killed by one a year ago.

Hope to wish CT a speedy recovery. Rt; hang in there and please keep us posted on CTs' condition, as we all hope to hear from him again in the near future.

Bart, thanks for letting us know about CT. Seems you three, yourself, RT and CT have been very close friends for quite awhile. I know it will be hard for RT to keep us posted, but if you should ever find anything out, please pass on the word. Thanks

Hi everyone, this is Matt, RT & CT's best friend. RT asked me to post on here tonight about Casey but I guess Bart has beat me to it, thanks Bart.

Thanks for all the kind words, I will print this page out and take it back to the hospital with me, I will pass it onto the family.

I'm at their place right now picking up some things before heading back to the hospital. I'm trying to convince RT he needs to try and get some sleep but with no luck. He's a stubbin B...ed ! As you all are probably aware.

I will endeavor to keep you all informed about CT as soon as I hear any new information.

get back to you.
Thank you all for the kind words and thoughts. I
know it's a great comfort to the Turnbulls

An update on Casey, RT's brother. Matt tells me
that he's out of his coma. The doctors have told
the family that his accident should not affect
his motor or mental skills. Thank God!!!
We know he has a long recovery ahead of him so
please continue to pray for Casey and his family during this tough time.
I know the worldwide prayer circle/positive energy vibe we have through the forum definetly
made the difference. Thank you all.

RT and Casey, all the best to you in this very difficult time. We have a regular prayer time in the morning and at our church on Wed. evening (Calgary time) and we will be with you then. Prayer works, I know that for sure, and we hope all these messages and prayers are working for you too.

Hey this is Danny logged in under Bart's name, wanted to express my feelings to Casey about his accident. Hey man what's up? I am with you on your recovery, I myself have recovered from severe injuries and my best advice is be strong and let it make you a stronger person, mentally and physically. The more lifechanging experiences you have in life, the more you've lived it. Get Well

RT here, home for the first time since Casey's accident.

The Turnbull family express there thanks for all the words of wisdom to all the INA Forum dudes and dudets. Thanks to all those who have sent me private messages, I promise I will reply to them all but please give me some time.

Casey is doing OK but a long way from being back to a normal life as we know it. He is a fighter and is as stubbin as me so I know he will fight his disablities and get back to the Casey I know and love.

Matt has printed out all these posts and we have them taped to the wall above Casey's bed. Thanks again everyone for all your words of wisdom.

Thanks for the update RT... we all hope CT is better soon.
I suggested in a PM to Bartamus that perhaps the members can have a special prayer day for this family and he agreed. I thought Sunday June 15 would be appropriate as that is Father's Day. With all the Turnbull family has had to endure this year, I hope others here will do just that. It does not matter what religion you are, even if you are not particulary religious. Just set aside a time to pray, reflect or light a candle for this family. Who will join me on this day?

Hw: Count on me to be there. I'm praying for Casey's speedy recovery. He's a very active guy
and I can't imagine how much pain he's in.
Here's hoping his youth helps him heal.

Just thought I'd update Casey's situation.
Matt and Rob tell me he's talking although the
heavy pain medication makes it difficult.
Matt did indeed post this thread in Casey's room
and his Mom read your kind words to him.
Thank you all again and keep that good energy
going. I know it will make a difference in my friend's recovery.

RT and family, to you, I send me deepest regrets. But we can give thanks that Casey is still alive. Always look for that silver lining in the darkest clouds. It is through hope that we can look forward to the future.

To Casey, I hope you will get well. Have patience in your recovery. You may not be the same person you were before the accident, but simply being different isn't a bad thing. Rely on your strengths as they come.

And to the rest of us, let us use this time to give thanks that we at least have our health. Any one of us could have our lives permanently altered in a split second.

For all who've been kind enough to express your
thoughts of prayer and support..I'm glad to say

Casey is making good progress. RT tells me they're gonna get him walking this weekend and
plan to send him home soon. Of course it'll be
slow going for awhile. Once again many thanks on
behalf of all his friends at INA and of course
his family.

Get well, Casey...but if you end up in a wheelchair for the rest of your life, try to remember that God never allows anything to happen without a reason--even if his plan is just to show others that he can work through inambulatory people too, and that even not being able to walk isn't enough to rob someone of the joy he gives. /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

BTW, did they catch the boozer whodunit?

Bartamus

Raised-By-She-Wolf: Just a point of clarification. Casey is not paralyzed. The accident broke his right leg in three places.
He will walk again..but it will take a lot of
hard work. Those of us who know him have no doubt
he'll be o.k.

RT here with a Casey upodate, sorry I haven't replied here but as you appreciate I have been some what busy.

Thanks again for all the kind words and words of wisdom in all these posts. Mattor I print out these pages and take them to the hospital for Casey to read and see. It has lifted his spirits and we the Turnbull family thank you for that.

Casey took two steps yesterday from his bed to sit in a wheelchair, he was in a lot of pain but he did it. All our mates (buddies) are giving him encouragement to get back on his feet and it his working, there was one day where he was feeling sorry for him self but we changed his attitude and he hasn't looked back.

The doctors are all positive he will be back on his feet and giving us all hell again very soon, it will be a long road back but we all have a positive attitude as well as Casey and I know he will do it.

Thanks again to all the INA forum dudes and dudets.

hw: Rob as you might imagine has been very busy
taking care of his brother and keeping up with
school and work. So here is an update on my buddy Casey.
Rob tells me that Casey took three steps on his own over the weekend. Yes it's painful but he's bound and determined to walk again. His right collar bone is still healing so he can't use
crutches just yet. They are thinking of sending him home early next week if he continues to make progress. He's getting out of bed and into the
wheelchair on his own and gets faster doing it.
He's also speaking clearly as a result of the
reduction in pain medicine.
So it's all good news. Still, he's in an incredible amount of pain as he does all this.
Imagine having your right leg broken in three places! Let's all continue to keep him in our prayers and thoughts. Thanks again

AussieBeachBoy

Those sound like nasty injuries. Normally someone that badly hurt wouldn't be able to walk for many weeks. I think it must be a sign of CT's strength and determination that he has got as far as he has!

It will probably be a tough road for him but we can all will him on in spirit. Keep at it!

For all of you who've been sending your good wishes to the Turnbull family following the
horrific accident involving Casey Turnbull who is
a lifelong naturist and contributor to these boards..I'm happy to announce that he is coming home after more than a month in the hospital!!
On June first Casey's car was hit by a drunk driver in Sydney. He had extensive injuries. He still faces some challenges with his right leg which is broken in three places. But the good news is at long last he can go home and recuperate. His twin brother RT who is also a
regular forum contributor and INA member will be
caring for him along with a group of his naturist mates who serve as his extended family.
Let's keep praying for his speedy recovery so the
doctors can let him take that long awaited vacation to the U.S. with his brother and mates.
Thanks again everyone!

Hi hw

This is Matt, RT & CT's best friend, I have CT update for you.

Caesy is out of hospital, giving us all hell. He has started physio on his shoulder and arm. His leg is still in a brace and still all screwed together.

He is going into hospital on August 15 to have the brace removed and an operation on his leg so he can start physio.

The plans are to have Casey in motion so we all can attend Nude Stock in the USA mid September. All Casey's mates are kicking his butt when he starts to feel down and a bit sorry for him self but that has only been once so far. He is very highly motivated to get mobile for Nudestock and a well deserved vacation.

Hope to see you all at Nudestock with RT, Casey and Drew and all of the INA Gang.

Thats all for now.
