I have the privledge of leaving a cold Canadian city at the end of the month for the Bahamas. We will be staying in a house near Nassau. Are there any nude beaches in that area? We havea private beach with the house but unfortunatley the people that we are going with are not nudists so that option is out of the question. Thanks,

Nassau and New Providence Island on which it lies are not suited for nude bathing. It is a bustling capitol city for the Bahamas and the island isn't that large and not at all private. The Bahamians are generally conservative and most would take offense at the sight of nude bathing.
However, it is possible to arrange to be dropped off on small uninhabited islands for the day. I have no specifics, but you can make inquiries here on this forum or just ask the locals to recommend a reliable and reasonably priced boat captain.

The area around the lighthouse on Paradise Island used to get nude use -- may still do. You can see the lighthouse from the beach at the British Colonial Hotel.
We used to go to Eleuthera when Club Med operated there. The beach on both sides of Club Med got nude use. There are not many houses and no high rises on that beach. I used to walk nude for 5 miles out and 5 miles back in the early morning before dawn.
Eleuthera is a very pretty island -- virtually no development, and very laid back. Nassau, in my opinion, is not a very appealing vacation place.

Thanks for all of your help. If anyone else has any suggestions, just let me know.
Hi rinky dinki, have a great time.
My suggestion is to ask your friends how they feel about "skinny dipping". That's a nice inoffensive term, with no unpleasant overtones. You may get a pleasant response, as I have on occasion.
Another good tactic which I have used is to go snorkeling and, when I am a suitable way out, put my bathers in a mesh collecting bag, which I always carry.
Maybe you could, in effect, "work shifts".
On days when your friends do the town or take a tour, you get the private beach to yourselves.
Please let us know how you went.
