I have been away from this site for at least six months. I was turned off by some of the "discussions" that I was finding. The last few days of reviewing this site have been quite enjoyable. I plan to be a very active participant from here out. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

In my view this has become the premier forum for general discussions on naturism. In the early days it was bad, with discussions often dominated by venom. I refused to register for months because of that. Once it became a moderated forum the moderators were successful in establishing a different climate.

Welcome back. /infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

I've been reading and sometimes posting to this forum since it started. I've seen the good and the bad and I must say its been mostly good. I like seeing other people's ideas and thoughts. Hopefully Naturists will get more popular and we won't have to hide behind curtains anymore.

This forum is only what we and the moderators make of it. Nothing more. Nothing less. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Sorry, I thought I had edited that last post. I had used the wrong URL. It is a bit overwhelming. http://www.ClothesFree.com/personals/deck_avatar.jpg /infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

It's also nice that they join in the debates from time to time but don't try to dominate. I have previously been banned from two moderated naturist discussion boards (UK based) for daring to deviate from the strict rules the moderators tend to impose e.g. "you will not criticize the moderators" or "you will not say anything negative about naturism or anything else" but I'm pleased to say that despite my sometimes unconventional views I have remained unscathed here for about 18 months.

As far as I can recall only three people have ever been banned from this site and that was for allowing themselves to descend into personal abuse and the only material ever deleted from the site by the moderators is either spam or posts containing links to pornograpic sites.

So let's hear it for the moderators!!!

I'm relatively new to this forum, but have become very comfortable here very quickly. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I truly enjoy the opportunity to discuss this subject with a (mostly!) non-critical audience. It's helped me a lot to work through my own issues related to social nudity (although I still haven't had the chance to get out of the house and practice it!).

I think that the views found in this forum represent a pretty good cross-section of the views and attitudes I'll find in a social nudist environment. To me, that means that while I'll encounter some people that are a bit too close-minded and prejudiced for my taste, I'll also find people who are more open-minded and accepting that I'd expected before.

In short, I've learned that nudists are just people, too. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Angel,
Hopefully this forum has given you the nerve to go out this spring and have a ball...nude. I tried it my first time last year, about this same time, and have since gotten my wife interested too. I wish there was more talk here about specific places to go, etc. For example, last year I went to Blacks Beach in San Diego, but if you were looking for info here about it, it is hard to find. Same with east cost venues as well.
A good discussion topic would be places to go.... What does everyone think? Hopefully, it would mostly be cented on positive issues, things associated with the recreation.

Rik: On behalf of the INA moderators..thank you.
We try to make this forum different from the rest. Since I've been involved here, we've seen
this bulletin board grow and the number of
registered users quadruple. Thanks to all. We
have more changes coming to the forum designed
to make it easier for you all to check posts
and contribute more thought provoking topics!

Sorry for asking but what was bad about the forum in the beginning? I only joined INA forum like 3 months ago.

Croydon: There wasn't anything bad per se. As Rik
mentioned we did have some problems with a
couple of contributors who used the forum to
viciously attack people based on their own moral
beliefs. It was partly our fault because INA
did not monitor the posts as regularly as we do
now. Our philosophy with the forum these days
is to encourage free and open discussions of
naturism while at the same time providing
information to newcomers. We strive to make this
bulletin board a positive experience for everyone. That will never change.

One thing I like about posting here is that what we write isn't edited except for foul language. There are still some words that get posted that I don't like, but that's beside the point.

I sent my story about my first nudist experience to another Web site. It was three paragraphs in length, and only one of the paragraphs was long. It was chopped down to one short paragraph, and most of what I wanted to say was edited out. I told them to do what they wanted with it, but I probably won't waste my time writing there again. I enjoy writing though I do get carried away at times, but no more than others here who write some VERY long posts. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Corey,

I followed your instructions EXACTLY, and as you can see the same avatar is still there. Here's what you sent me and what I typed in: http://www.ClothesFree.com/personals/jp avatar.jpg

It didn't work, and it changes itself back to the original URL.? I'm confused.? /infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Jon-Marc,

Two things.
1) Make sure the URL you are using includes the underscore between jp and avatar.jpg (i.e.jp_avatar.jpg). BTW, it's always best to 'copy and paste' URLs so that little mistakes like this don't happen.

2) Make sure you click on 'Set URL' once you've entered the URL in the box. Then make sure you click on 'Update Profile' at the bottom of the main profile page.

I replied to your private message, Rik, but I just want to reply here to see if the problem is solved. I'm learning little things constantly about the computer. My photo should be under my name. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

In response to Brian M concerning places to go. There are plenty of sources covering the usual venues, but I feel that there a number of places to go, that are not normally considered. I own some private acreage and have a standing invitation to all to stop by and enjoy. I am thinking that there may be any number of such opportunities out there. Often you hear people talk about a great place just two hours away. I don't consider this very convenient. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

This could be about the campgrounds (I didn't want to call them resorts) or just out of the way places.
