What qualities are the most important for someone to be considered a "good" (eg. practicing, or well practiced) nudist?

To help inspire replies, here are a few suggested criteria:

1. Goes nude at home regularly?
(yes/no; or how often?)

2. Family knows about your/their nudism?
(yes/no; or some do)

3. Reads "rec.nude" on the Usenet newsgroups/Google Groups?
(yes/no)

4. Belongs to one or more national organizations?
(yes/no)

5. Belongs to (eg. dues paying) a local non-landed club or resort?
(yes/no; for how long)

6. Attends a local club or resort at least quarterly (eg. 4x per year)?
(yes/no)

7. At least one friend knows of your/their nudism?
(yes/no)

8. Has introduced one family member to nudism and they ACTUALLY tried it?
(yes/no)

9. Has introduced one friend to nudism and they actually tried it?
(yes/no)

10. Has visited a clothing-optional beach and talked with other visitors?
(yes/no)

11. Has introduced the topic of nudism to co-workers and received a logical or non-humorous response?
(yes/no)

12. Owns/reads nudist topic books?
(yes/no)

13. Owns/views nudist topic videos/DVDs
(yes/no)

14. Subscribes to nudist magazine or newsletter without maintaining membership in a national organization?
(yes/no)

15. Maintains an active (annual) membership in a nudist organization?
(yes/no)

16. Contributes to NEF (Naturist Education Fund)?
(yes/no)

17. Writes to legislators when an issue of clothing-optional beach or public lands use is under consideratioon?
(yes/no)

18. Attends "Earth Day" rallys or similar street fairs with naturist/nudist representation (eg. a booth)?
(yes/no)

19. Works AT a Earth Day rally as a staff member of a naturist/nudist booth?
(yes/no)

20. Supports the local artistic community as a nude figure model or photography model?
(yes/no)

21. Willing to participate in politically oriented rally such as the World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR)?
(yes/no)

22. Maintains a membership at one or more naturist/nudist websites and posts to the discussion boards or forums?
(eg. more than just a casual reader)

23. Mentions "nudist" or "nudism" as an interest in a non-professional webpage (personal web page) or profile?
(yes/no)

24. Mentions "nudist" or "nudism" as an interest in a professional webpage (online resume) or profile?
(yes/no)

25. Maintains an online resume with "nudism" listed as a 'Interest' or 'Hobby'?
(that's dedication)

and finally....

26. Works at or lives on the grounds of a nudist, clothing-optional or naturist resort?

If you are doing one or more of these, I was just wondering what might be considered the top three or four most important characteristics?

I am working on a "Nudist Resume" and know of at least one other person who was inspired to add it to their online resume as a result of a previous posting and or discussion on the subject. And it seems that one way to lessen the sensationalism associated with the use of the "nudist" word is to introduce it into "polite conversation" on a more frequent basis; or so one might think from previous examples of sensationalized words.

Will you be remembered as one?

Pure and simple --- finds a personal preference for nudity and doesn't immediately sexualize the naked body. Don't have to tell anyone, because having the personal joy means you won't be demeaning to other nudists --- and that's a victory in the long run.

Seems like you may be overthinking nudism. People of different ages and from different places will have different ideas about nudism. If somone doesn't align with another's idea of "good", does it really mean they aren't a good person or nudist?

I'm sure I'd rather be remembered as a good person who helped people when I could, whether I or they were nudists, or not.

Personally, a good quality nudist is one who respects their surroundings, respects others acceptance/non-acceptance wishes. They have respect of others (nudists) right to privacy if need be. They obey all proper practices.

A good quality nudist doesn't have to be nude all the time. There are those, myself included, that wishes there was more time to be nude, but for family, and or visitors sake, they cover up.

It's not the amount of time one is nude that qualifies themselves as a quality nudist. Quality nudists are those who abide by the standards set by organizations and clubs, or even at a personal friends' house. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/smoking.gif

Far too many questions. To me a good nudist is one who is first a good person and then one who likes to shed his/her clothes whenever possible.

This is quite humbling! I always thought of myself as a "good nudist" but I could only answer "yes" to less than half of the questions.

I have always placed an emphasis on numbers 2 (Family knows about your/their nudism?) and 7 (At least one friend knows of your/their nudism?). My thought is that even if I don't win them as converts to nudism, at least I might be able to modify their prejudices.

nudeM, you took the words right out of my mouth. To me respect is the most important trait to have, whether it be respect for your surroundings or respect for your fellow naturists.

This question was only meant to inspire thought, it was not meant to make anyone feel guilty about their personal level of participation in or contributions towards advancing the lifestyle collectively known as "nudism" (or the artist formerly known as Prince).

That is also why I put the word good in quotes, and just ran down a laundry list of things I have either done or heard of people doing, trying to work from most likely (or least expensive) to least likely (or most expensive).

I feel certain we are all good nudists and have the best of intentions in practicing or promoting the lifestyle.

The ability to separate nudity from sexuality. That's my definition of a good nudist.

All that is required is to embrace the philosophy and live a positive life, contributing to society, being a good citizen, etc.

I very much like your description of a "good" nudist.

A "good nudist" starts with a "good person". This good person just happens to like to be naked as much as possible! What does "good" mean? It would take a much smarter person than me to answer that question and unfortunately history is full of people who thought they knew "the answer". Let's not over think this question but enjoy life naked as much as possiblehttp://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif
