It's not my place to criticise American Political Parties, so I won't.

However, this thread idea reminds me of the lines:
"I've half a mind to join the XXXXX (insert any organisation you want) - that's all you need.

I tried to join the Republican party once, but when they found out my parents were married they told me I wasn't qualified! http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/laugh.gif http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/eusa_dance.gif http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/wiseguy.gif http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/smoking.gif

Funny on the surface, sure.

But unless someone can write that many points about why Democrats are better -- in a constructive, persuasive way -- they still won't win the White House.

Old and tired jokes aren't going to win the Dems anything, action will.

Cranny, it's ok to laugh occasionally just for the sake of laughing and poking fun at the other side.

Or, as my father-in-law once remarked to my mother-in-law, "JOKE!, Ruth, Joke! surely you know the concept!"

Humor's humor even the gallows variety.

http://smirkingchimp.com, huh?

Only a CHIMP could write such BS.

OK. I'll be the one to start it.
How is this BS?

It is done in a humorous style, but the sad reality is, this IS the legitimate reality.

We all know you don't possess anything even remotely approaching a sense of humour, BlackRebel, but why do you have to keep on demonstrating and reinforcing this fact for everybody here?

Yeah, what he said!

Just another example of them being unable to handle the truth.
It is not known that the sage wisdom has it as - "I think, therefore I am not republican", for nothing you know!
BTW, blackrebel, "smirking chimp" refers to the shrub and is derived from his appearance.
Personally I think it is an insult to the chimps.

Hidden in this story is a very telling fact. Virginia, part of the so-called Old South is drifting from reliable GOP state to increasingly Dem choices. If you give this some reflection, I think you'll conclude a couple of things:

The Democrats' loss of the South due to Civil rights has about run its course! There are still racial divides and issues, but, by and large, the blow back has ended as new generations come into the electorate.
