View Full Version : Why Obsessed w/ Shaving?

I've been monitoring this forum for a few months now and there's one thing that I really can't understand...why are you people so gosh darn obsessed with who shaves their pubic hair, how often they shave, what their spouses/lovers have to say about it, and so forth? Just look at the last 30-45 days of strings in the Body Acceptance topic area. I'd bet most of them involve questions about shaving. The rest of them are questions about erections. Give me a break. You people proclaim that "nude is natural" and that you feel so "free" when you're nude, then you go right ahead and ask each other who shaves, thus indirectly getting their permission or validation for you to shave. Oh sure, be "free", just make sure that you're not the only one shaved. Be "natural", but make sure you fit in by looking just like everyone else down below. If everyone shaves, they do it; if not, don't. That's doesn't sound like being "free" to me. If you want to shave, go ahead and shave. If you don't, don't. Who gives a flip what others do, and why should anyone care? Either you're all a bunch of conformists who really just want to be nude while at the same time looking homogenous or you're just a bunch of pervs that want a clear shot at some private parts or what a "blessing" from those who shave to show off your own. I'd bet this forum would shut down in 1 month if strings pertaining to shaving and erections were not permitted. You people live in such a world of contradiction: "We're not pervs, but by the way, do you shave your pubes?"; "We're not into nudism to see nude women, but what should I do if I get a "spontaneous" erection?"; "We're not into nudism to gawk at girls or meet swingers, but why don't clubs allow more singles?". Give me a break. You people need to really examine your motives and be honest w/ yourselves. /infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Of the threads with messages in the last 45 days only two were specifically about shaving, one was about erections and one was about shaving AND erections i.e. three in total. The total number of messages on all of the threads was 292 and those that related to the shaving and erection threads amounted to 94. A relatively high number I grant you but as 94 is only about one third of 292 it hardly constitutes a majority.

There was another thread entitled "Do women prefer..." which started off as a thread about shaving but within one or two posts degenerated into some sort of slanging match.

If you look at the heading of Body Acceptance it says "Discussing the acceptance of tattoos, fat, thin, young, old, race, piercing, shaving, erections, disabilities, swimsuits, etc. " so it seems to me entirely appropriate that people use it as a forum for discussing shaving and erections.

Having said that, I tend to agree with you that some people seem obsessed by shaving and I ususally ignore those threads as I don't feel I have anything to contribute. Perhaps you should do the same.

Maybe they are just simply looking for people who share their habits and beliefs. Everyone wants to meet or talk to other people who are like them. Look in the religion category; there are people who are looking for others who share their similar beliefs and view of nudity.

We are definitely not conformists, heck, we are nonconforming to society as a whole. Just because we ask questions about appearance does not mean we wish others to share our beliefs about them, it just means we want to see how many others share our beliefs and what others have to say. Nudists are a very welcoming group for differences apart from themselves.

As for erection questions, mostly newbies askk those questions. I am also a regular contributor on Netnude and that is a very popular question for male newbies. And the question is answered every time with the usual answer about nudism being non-sexual and it more than likely will not occur. Patience must be used with newbies who are nervous about getting into nudism or going to some nude venue.

Why does it bother you so much about why certain questions are asked? You know, if the topic bothers you, simply don't read it. That's what I do. Many times a topic does not warrant me to open it. It may be something that just is uninteresting to me or rarely, something that would be offensive to me. I go by the rule, if it does not affect me, I won't read it.

Perhaps it is because that topic is not one to come up often among clothed people.

Body piercing would not be discussed much either if one never saw it.

I shave because it's looks clean, not to show off or look at other's people's stuff.

I can do that without people shaving.

Shave or not, it doesn't really matter.
