I'm heading out to Phoenix for some much needed vacation and rest with a couple of non-nudist buddies. Can anyone recommend places to visit, nudist and non-nudist alike. All we have so far is the Grand Canyon. Appreciate any help on this.

Peace...
Russell

Well, there is the Painted Desert and the Petrified Forest. Shangri La is a very famous nudist resort in Phoenix. If you get a chance, duck down into White City, New Mexico and see Carlsbad Caverns. Enjoy your trip.

Well there's lots to do here because of the mild weather. Do you have any interests?

For nude activities I would suggest Shangri La resort,

There's a great c/o hot spring if like hiking, http://www.verdehotsprings.org/

Also a new resort is opening May 1 near Tucson that looks really nice called Mira Vista, http://www.miravistaresort.com/

Yes,

Shangri La is very nice for nude rec. Very relaxing and you can meet some cool people.

There is a J.W. Marriott on the north end of town that is simply a wonderful resort. A bit on the expensive side, but the beds are the most comfortable I've ever slept on. I heard their golf facilities are nice.

Russell, There are lots of hot springs in that would allow your non-nudist friends to enjoy the environment as well and maybe get them into our lifestyle.

Like others suggested. you might try Shangri La, north of Phoenix. Very nice pool and hot tub. I went on a recent weekeday afternoon, and found about 10 around the pool. .... You also might try "au natural" in Las Vegas. I'm heading there are a few days and looking forward to the experience and being "loose" in Vegas for a few nights. Enjoy.

NON Nudist
The internet has lots of good info on Phoenix and AZ.

Things that I would do with out of towners if I had time:
Cubs are in town playing the Diamondbacks. Chase Field (formerly the BOB) is worth the tour even if you don't catch a game.

It's starting to get hot, but if you like nature, check out the Desert Botanical Gardens.

Climbing Camelback Mountain or Piestewa Peak is always a thrill. Take lots of water.

If it is starting to get too hot for you, check out the Heard Museum.

Sedona is about 1.5 hours north and is worth the trip.

The Grand Canyon is about 4.5 hours north. It is definitely worth seeing if you have the time. Also, if you are fit, hike about 500 yards down Bright Angel. This viewpoint changes your whole perspective on the GC. The hiking back up also changes your whole perspective. Takes about twice as long to hike up as it does to hike down.

NUDIST:
Shangri La is the best option. I don't know where you are staying and Phoenix is a big town, but it is about 1/2 to 1 hour north.

Mira Vista is opening soon just northwest of Tucson but that is a 1.5 to 2 hour drive south of Phoenix.

The law in AZ is not too unfriendly - you have to be "reckless" and "offend" someone. But unless you know the local situation you are best advised to stick to the tried and true.
