Bartemus, I have often tried to find people to chat with on the INA chat line but no one is ever on the line. I live in Alaska and being isolated from fellow naturists is dull especially in the long winters. I do hope you can get one up and running for us. I would do it if I knew how. Right now, someone goes in the room for a

Speaking of chat rooms, there are two out there that I know of. You'll find one at www.cybernude.com, (http://www.cybernude.com,) and one at www.nifoc.net, (http://www.nifoc.net,) which stands for "Naked In Front Of Computer." Be careful what you type when visiting the Cybernude chat room however. While most of them are friendly, there are a few there that can be a bit on the touchy side.

Nude Always: It's pretty crowded here. If I
had my druthers I'd move to Oakhurst,
California. That's where INA is located.
It's just outside Yosemite National Park.
The weather is almost perfect in the summer.
A bit chilly in winter but nothing like
Michigan! And it's four hours away from L.A.

One of the many places I was stationed in the Air Force was Near San Rafael, CA. I was there in 1970 for 9 months. It never rained a drop all that time. We had a lot of grass fires--one near my home.

California wasn't one of my favorite places, but I didn't totally dislike it. Although I don't like rain, some rain once in a while is helpful. From what I've seen most of the nudists places are in the Southern part.

year's nudestock is near Sacramento. Also
Lupin nudist resort is near San Jose.
There are a few decent nude beaches in the
north and a couple hot springs.
I grew up in L.A. I think Black's Beach in
San Diego is amazing. It may be the largest
nude beach in America. Of course Palm Springs
has Desert Shadows nudist resort. It's
amazing as well. I've never been to Glen
Eden which is in the high desert of southern
california but I hear it's nice

Bart, Is there any resort in CA where a person can live in the resort all year round? If I can I would love to live in a nudist resort all the time. I think there are such resorts. I was in the chat room once. I got disconnected from the Internet, and when I got reconnected I had lost my connection to the chat room and couldn't get back in and gave up. I haven't been back in since.

My Internet server, like all the other Internet servers, has a bad habit of disconnecting me when it gets the idea I'm not doing anything. Typing E-mail or replying in a chat room must be considered doing nothing, and I often get disconnected.

I won't be getting back into the chat room since I will just be disconnected from the Internet while I'm typing replies and not surfing the web. I get disconnected sometimes when I'm in this forum because it doesn't register as using the Internet. It was very frustrating to be typing a reply and get disconnected before I finished it and couldn't get back in.

I kept getting the message that someone was already using my name. Yes, someone was--me, but I still couldn't get back in so I won't be using the chat room. /infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

If you're using Internet Explorer try this:
- From the Tools menu select Internet Options
- Highlight the dial-up account you're using (if you've only got one then it'll already be highlighted)
- Select Settings...
- Select Advanced
- You may find the two "disconnect" check boxes have got ticks in them. If so remove them.

If this doesn't solve you're disconnect problems then I suspect it's you're phone line or your internet service provider that's causing the problem.

I've tried using the chat room; but, whenever I click in, nothing comes up on my screen but the outline of a box with a little box in the upper left-hand corner. Does anyone have any idea of why this is? Is a certain program need to get access to, and use, the chat room?

Rik, I found Internet Options. I found Settings, but I didn't find Advanced in the Settings box. Thanks anyway.

By the way, the computer or whatever finally let me go back to my original name of Jon-Marc. When they had that glitch a while back, I had to change everything including my posted name in order to get back in. I went to my Profile and deleted Nude Always and typed in Jon-Marc, and it was changed back! I'm happy now! I got into the chat room once. In the midst of my typing, I was disconnected from the Internet because when all I'm doing is typing the computer "thinks" I'm not doing anything. When I was disconnected from the Internet, I was also disconnected from the chat room and couldn't seem to get back in and gave up. That was very frustrating, and I haven't been back there. That happens to me all the time when I'm typing to post in the forum, or typing e-amil messages. I have to keep re-connecting. To All of Those Looking for a Nudist ChatRoom

Two that I am often seen in are: Naturists Worldwide and Global Naturists...both of these can be found on MSN and both can be accessed if you have either a hotmail or msn account...the first chatroom I listed is very popular and sometimes if you try and get in, it will deny you access...the reason for that is the room has a 50 person limit and more than once I have had to try more than once to get in. The second room I mentioned is considerably smaller, but also worth going into. Just a heads up...both rooms have rules, so if you are wanting to meet someone for the wrong reasons...the hosts will be more than willing to let you know that the room is not set up for those reasons...

Just a final note, I have been a regular in the first room for over a year...and as a whole most of the regulars are really cool people /infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Hey RT,
I believe that there are three reasons as to why no one is ever in the chatroom:
1. As stated by the previous poster where is it?
2. You have to be a member in order to access it, therefore those who have not paid to become a member are denied access.
3. Due to the above mentioned reasons no one knows when anyone else will be in there.
The simple solution to this delema (sorry about the spelling but its early for me)is to post a time where any and all members (unless INA could be persuaded to grant access to non-members alike)who would be interested in joining you in the chatroom could do so.

The Chat room is leased to INA via another
company. That's why it's on the pay site. Corky
wants to create our own chat room and is working
on it. RT and I tried once before with minimal
success to get people talking in the chat room.
Perhaps we'll try again by arranging a time via
the forum when both of us will be there.

As I said before, I was in the chat room once typing a reply when I was disconnected from the Internet. When that happened I also lost my connection to the chat room and for some strange reason wasn't able to get back in.

I haven't returned since. Of course, since my finacial condition prevents me from being able to continue my INA membership, I couldn't get in there anyway.

The few times I have used the chat room that is leased, it has been a pain because it constantly throws up unwanted ads and frequently kicks me out of my chat sessions with other naturists. I think it's just hit or miss with the Chat Room. I've heard other people with the same comments about no one ever being there. I've tried a few times myself, same results.

I guess we'd all have to make a concerted effort to check it frequently - perhaps eventually a few of us would run into each other. Or, let people know when you'll be there so both sides can plan it in advance.

Thank you for your response. I've gone to other sites but all i get is sex topics. I would like to chat with other nudists who can seperate nudism with sex. It's very frustating. Like other nudists know, there is diference between nudism and blatent sexuality. I wish more people would chat on the site so I can hear about they're experience in the lifestyle and it not be about sex. I'm new to the movement and I would like to talk about naturism without it being a forum to talk about sex.

I love to be nude also. Although I was a closet nudist for most of my life, I found many places to go to enjoy nature but there was always that fear of being discovered and the little sadness of being alone. Oh there was always the skinny dipping parties with friends but it mostly was a chance for friends to check each other out during a little playful recreation. I finally stepped out of the closet two years ago, joined one club and visit others. Even though I love nudity, that first time I stepped out of the dressing room.....wow! I couldn't believe I was actually nervous. It only lasted a few minutes and shortly I began to meet lots of new friends who equally shared my intense desire to enjoy life in the buff. This spring I attended a nude candle party as a favor for a friend. Both she and her husband are nudists and their home is very secluded so we able to scamper everywhere naked. Most of the guests were women and the majority nudists, but the woman giving the presentation and her assisting mother-in-law were non-nudists. I was surprised how comfortable these non-nudists were in our company. The mother-in-law (named Lucy, widowed for a few years)took interest in me and talked most of the day. There was a hot tub there and I invited her to join me in a dip. She said she didn't have a swim suit and with many others around (almost all nude) she couldn't bring herself to remove her clothing. Maybe with just the hosts and myself present she might. As a plus size woman in her fifties, she was very self conscious. She told me that before she met our mutual friends, she considered nudists to engage in open sex at the drop of a hat. When she discovered that her friends were nudists and her daughter-in-law had taken a nude dip in the hot tub several weeks earlier she realized that we are everyday people who just like to enjoy life without clothes. I told her that we all have the same equipment just different sizes and shapes and most nudists don't participate in social nudity to look at others or expose themselves but rather to enjoy the wonderful freedom of shedding clothes with others. After dinner most of the guests left with the setting sun. Lucy helped our host clean up while myself and the others retired to the hot tub. Ten minutes later Lucy entered the patio from a side door wearing only a bath towel which she held tightly around her. She walked to the edge of the tub dropped the towel and quickly slipped into the tub. When our host got in we were pretty tightly packed and Lucy kept apologizing for brushing up against me. I told her it couldn't be helped and hot tubs are the best when filled to the brim with nude bathers. Being in the company of a non-nudist, we each told our stories of how we became nudists and why we enjoy it so much. This seemed to put Lucy at ease and as the heat of the tub forced each of us in turn to sit on the deck to cool down, Lucy was comfortable continuing the conversation out of the tub as well. Later in the evening she actually left the tub, walked across the patio into the brightly lit kitchen to get herself a cool drink.
Although she does not consider herself a nudist now, she did tell me that the experience gave her self-confidence a huge boost. I invited her to join me in a visit to a naturist resort close by and she said she was unsure but would give it some serious consideration. I guess my point is that even if one has never had the desire to remove thcir clothes out of doors, around the house, or in the company of others, in an appropriate situation they can still feel that wonderful sensation that nudity can evoke.

We will advertise a few specisif times and days to chat... that way moany go there at once. Also, remember that you can invite your buddies to chat whenever you want. Pick a day/time and ask them to meet you there!

Last time I was in the chatroom it had a completely new look and interface. I believe they have disabled it while they are working out bugs.

I see, another infopop/groupee upgrade - yawn....

a) the new chat does NOT work anymore with (my) firefox, has probably something to do with java?

b) it works with IE, but who wants to use IE????

c) it still says "click wrench", but there no longes is a wrench, and that's silly because it was quite usrful to quickly check current discussions

d) the avatars have disappeared from the chat window, why? Avatars were easier to identify.
Users can change color (including "white", which makes text invisible - very useful, not), so it is not unique.

Time will tell, I guess we just have to live with it anyway.

I was just in there at 3:12 PM PDT California time and 4-5 were in there chatting and it seemed to be normal and much better looking than the last version. There are still several bugs to work out, and it doesn't take much to knock you out of the room where you have to log back in to continue.

I haven't been able to access the chat for a very long time now, and the new version hasn't changed anything. Once the flash animation finishes, nothing happens. Neither Firefox nor IE have worked in that regard.

This is really getting frustrating...

Wnwired I was just in after reading your post. Mine after the flash automatically goes into the chat room. There is three in there now at 16:09 CA PDT

Maybe you don't have the latest ver of flash or active X, but it should prompt you to upgrade if so.

I don’t know, just trying to help or list how mine is configured. Flash player doesn’t have much to do with the chat operation that program is a player, and the chat program was written in Flash I guess and that should play or work on most Windows machines.

The forum and chat software or vendor "Groupee" or "Groupee Community" does not have much help or requirements, or even an operation manual except for a few very short descriptions of the features. Maybe if one goes to the vendor site there would be more information or documents.

I do not think you’re alone as I have seen many others mention problems with this vendor’s software. I had a very weird problem of signing in [before the name change] and solved it myself by going to a network machine on the same connection and signing in or as a new user and it solved my original problem. I mentioned that in a while ago somewhere in this forum "INA News & Suggestions"

It's working now. Could be your browser or browser options. I have Mozilla Firefox and it's just fine.

Thanks for the input of the couple people I heard from. I guess overall there is not too many issues with the chat room, or there would have been more users sending in messages.

I would like to encourage everyone that uses it to report any abuse or problems.

Please note that the TOS applies in the chat room. So please refrain from anything hurtful, vulger. It is a place where people can meet and chat, but is also not desighned as a "pickup place" So please no unwelcomed advances.

Every time I have tried to enter the chat room I have had trouble getting in. There is only a little box in the upper left-hand corner. Am I doing something wrong; is there only a certain time it is open /

Hmmm....Not sure. What kind of little box?

You could try and turn off your pop up blocker see if that works.

Another thing you could try is your firewall. If you are running one turn it off and try to get in. If that works you will have to change your settings on your firewall.

The square I see is a little black square outlined in green. It is in the upper left-hand corner of the viewing area. There is an outline, or extension coming out to the side of this box. My corsor changes shape when I approach this box but it does not do anything.

There is also a shaded blue square in the center of the viewing area. Sometimes the blue box rises from below; sometimes it drops from above. I did not have this problem previously.

I have noticed that too, have to be very careful with switching rooms. I stopped doing that.

Yeah, the software sucks sometimes. You can have people posting messages even when they are not listed as being in the room! Basically, something went wrong when they signed in or out

I'm not positive but believe the chat room private chat function has been disabled due to abuse, and reason the some request to go to a 2nd or 3rd party IM or chat from the Forums chat room.

Kind of defeats the room. PM should not be necessary in a "chat" but I see how it leads to short- "asl" contact in public by some. Too bad the result, I guess, is private messaging through profiles as an alternative replacement for the social, non "hook up" aspect to real time nudism chat

Yes the private chat function has been disabled after an audit of the chat logs revealed it is being used by those with questionable motives and possible sexual predators.

The chatroom is for nudists to hang out and talk about nudist related topics or just friendly conversation. If someone wants a cybersex/hookup outlet it won't be on CFI's dime.

Other chat rooms have also a cam so one can see and be seen by the other. I used to be on Yahoo chat but after down loading the new version it just does not work anymore so I backed out. But I for one like the cam part to see and be seen.

Teens and young adults are much more into chatrooms than those of us that remember seeing men walk on the moon.

Chatrooms can be a dangerous place for teens.

Webcams can make it even worse. Teens don't realize what danger they may be in.

I applaud the efforts of the admistrators of this forum to keep it safe.

Chat participants meet up in the chat room or shout box and then go outside of CFI/CFF to AIM, Windows Live, Yahoo, or ICQ where they have options of IM Instant messaging, text, SMS via cell phone, voice, VOIP phone calls, video, web cam with voice, file transfers, photo/image transfers, conferencing in a real time, in a secure, and private environment that’s not monitored.

The Chat Box feature seen on the right hand column on the CFF main page is misunderstood by many on how it functions and the options that are available. I think it's a good idea, but needs improvement, a help file or document on how to operate and function of features.

A date needs to be added to the time stamp.

Is the time your time or the posters time in their time zone?

The X box deletes it locally or on the system?

The Reset function description.

The gremlins icon/box click results in an Error or is non functional.

I try to get in there quite regularly and i also find it quite desreted, but i put that down to the time difference here in australia, when i am in there, most people are probably asleep or something

For me its a reason that I can easily see what here are new in the last days, even week at Forum part. Whilst in the chat everything is lost in a few hours if not minutes.
So then I value my time too high for loose it in such un-longlasting way.
Plus, we have at least 12 hours a time difference. This moment I have a 2 o clock after midnight. Im going to sleep after EIA evaluation work I put the last point a minute ago (its so difficult to put the end when job is rapidly going on).

I just came in HERE now to have effective switch of mind to fill it with sth nicer before a sleep. It would be not nice to have a dream about all those risky dreadful things what may happen at project factory keeping some kilotonns of dreadful chemicals able to explode involuntary and make a cross-reactions I calculated.

I have been in the chat room on a number of occasions in the past few months and was the only one there as well.

Never had much use of the "private" chat feature so I missed the "abuse" Gary spoke of, but I can imagine though. Pity, that is one reason for the decline in usage - as to the monitoring ... don't worry about it, if you have to worry about it you're probally in the wrong chat room anyway.

oz_bare there were a number of ladies that used to chat a few months back. One in particular was always having to run her female prodigy to this and that teen function - made for some interesting life stories there.

Then there was a note where people were using it for sexual chat. That is fine but is not what the room is for. Again, there is a time and place for everything and that is not the place for sexual chat, even in private which is monitored.
