View Full Version : It's about time I did it.

So... I finally did it yesterday. I went to Serendipity Park yesterday and I had a blast! On my drive over i was nervous and it took me a while to actually get up the nerve to get into the car to drive the hour and a half to get there. The weather was a bit overcast and it just seemed to get worse. I started thinking I should head back to Athens and wait for a better day with more sun, but all of a sudden there was a break in the clouds and it engulfed the car in warmth. I took it as a sign to push forward. Most of the drive over i was calm, it wasn't until i was about a block away that I started to get really nervous. I got to the gate and felt a relief but still couldn't shake being extremely nervous. I was relieved because there was a big gate and i knew it was a safe haven and I could finally do what I've wanted to do for a long time. I was nervous because I was about to do something that I haven't done before, been nude in front of complete strangers. I then hit the intercom but (aka button to paradise).

Once I got in the nervousness subsided and i parked the car and headed over to the main office fully clothed. The male behind the desk greeted me and introduced himself but i was so nervous that I forgot his name. He was kind and showed me around the building and pointed out the trials and camping sites and the full time residences. He also told me about the creek. I thanked him and went to my car and disrobed right away. What a great feeling! I took off into the woods because I wanted to go through the trails and i really wanted to see the creek as well. I also really wanted to feel one with nature as this was my first time out in nature in my natural state. Once I got down to the creek it made me think there should be little faeries flying about. It was really beautiful and well worth the hike.

As I got back up to the main trail I met a couple as they were hiking down towards the smaller trail to the creek. They were the first nude couple that I talked to. There inquired if the hike down to the creek was worth it, and I said that it definately was. They were a very nice couple, and I wish I would have gotten their names.

I got back to the main building where there was the pool, hot tub, steam room and weight room. I hit the gym a bit and it felt great not having a stitch of clothing and being able to move freely when doing excersize, I think I got a much better excersize since I didn't have anything on. lol. After that I took a shower and off to the pool I went. What a great feeling it is to not have to worry about clothing sticking to your body when you're swimming.

One thing that did disappoint me, but that I expected was that there weren't a great number of people around, but everyone I met was great and friendly. No wonder they're the four time recipient American Association for Nude Recreation's Erwin T. Koch Visitor Appreciation Award for Outstanding Friendliness. One thing that I did notice was that everbody was beautiful there. I was very envious of them all because they seemed to be a tight knit group of people and hung around and talked to each other (there was about 8 different people that I met) and I was even more envious of their flawless tans. I can't wait to go back during a weekend when there are more people and I can talk to a lot more of them and make friends.

P.S. Just as an afterthought... the dreaded erection never occured, I never even really thought about it.

Congratulations and welcome to a great way of life. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/eusa_dance.gif http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/applause.gif
I felt the same sense of exhileration my first time at a nude beach. I remember that great feeling of relief when I first "took the plunge"
Fortunately, you are only an hour and a half away from a great nudist destination. Hopefully you may consider a membership there. You'll probably find weekends more crowded for sure.

Congratulations on your first time!!! It is definately better to go on the weekends, lots more people, all just as nice.

I go to Serendipity as well. I go as often as possible. I started much like you at the beginning of last summer.

Glad you had a great time. I've been to two clubs so far and can't wait to explore other places next summer.

NewShyNJguy, They have a good newsletter, that I receive weekly, but I've never had the chance to go to the club, maybe someday soon. It looks like a great place and they have some great times together.

"...there weren't a great number of people around..."

I think most, if not all, parks are less crowded during the weekdays. Most of us have to work for a living.

Glad to hear you had a good time on your first visit. I have been to Serendipity before as well. You may also want to visit Paradise Valley, near Dahlonega. Noticed your Athens address --UGA is my alma mater.

Thanks for all your posts and comments. I knew that I wasn't going to see many people during the week, especially Monday. But that's not the reason I went. I have a schedule in which I work every other Monday and Tuesday and then Fri, Saturday and Sunday and then work Wednesday and Thursday and off that weekend... and so on and so forth. This weekend I have off and I may go, but again I'm concerned because of Nude Stock this weekend, so there may not be that many people again, but there will be more people than Monday.

stephan_skinnydipper, I'm looking at going to Paradise Valley, but I'm waiting to see if/when my girlfriend would like to come along with me to experience the freedom and relief of a naturist resort.

I have a question, that perhaps I should start a new thread but I'll ask here anyway. I have an uneven tan (legs and arms, aka farmers tan) and I was wondering if anyone had any tips as to how to get my body caught up to the same color as my arms and legs. Thanks in advance!

Cover the breast and drumstiks with tin foil and then place under the broiler...OPPS..that only works when cooking a turkey. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/wink3.gif

Way to go, NewShyNJGuy!

As Hairy said, we all remember the first times socially nude with others and the first time we experienced nature fully. Even though a long time ago for me, I still remember the feeling I had when I first skinny dipped.

I, too, have visited Serendipity when I lived in the Atlanta area. I enjoyed the trails, the creek, and the whole atmosphere. I met a few people and enjoyed some of the activities there with the members. When you are a recongized face there, the whole group will be more friendly.

Thanks for reporting your first time at a club. As to the tan, get more sun with lots of sunscreen or use the tanning beds with good protection. Otherwise, accept the fact you did not get the "killer" tan and enjoy the times you get at Serendipity or the other clubs in northenr GA.

You have taken the first step in getting rid of tan lines. The more you are naked in the sun the evener your tan will become until the tan lines are gone. Happens pretty q

Your tan will even itself out in time. You have taken the first step in eliminating tan lines by being naked. JUST STAY NAKED in sun.

If you want to speed up process possibly apply high-numbered sun screen to tanned parts and a lower number on newly exposed skin but watch you dont burn virgin skin.

I know it's may be to late in the season for a great tan, but I was envious of the tans because it was a reminder of what I was missing because I kept putting off during the summer. I just may hit the tanning beds a bit before next season, but I will definately go back to "The 'Dip" and have fun and make friends. I wanted to go back this weekend, but it seems like it's going to rain. Bummer. Oh well, maybe again in another two weeks I'll go even though it'll be cooler. I am hopefully addicted after just one visit. One thing that I did notice was that people look better undressed than in clothing. Some clothing can be unflattering, but it's hard for skin to be unflattering to your body. It's better to be comfortable in your skin than uncomfortable in your clothes. (wow... maybe that should be my signature if no one else has used it yet). I'm definately going to be with the lifestyle for the rest of my life.

Well, just be careful using the term "the lifestyle" because that term has now been hijacked by the swingers, now that "everybody knows" what swinging means!

A question: I am not sure what "swingers" means as used on this board. It seems to be more incompassing than I am familiar with. This is not a trick question. I really would like to know.

I always thought swingers was a case of switching partners - correct me if I am wrong.

missouriboy
09-23-2006, 03:15 AM
Yes. Originally it was "wife swapping." ("Wife" meaning: significant other, whether married or not. Mutually agreed infidelity, as it were, for fun and games.)

Well, that term was too openly honest, so they adopted "swinging" as their secret codeword.

When that "secret" got too well-known, it was time to move on to a new one... so now it's "the lifestyle" and they refer to themselves as "lifestylers."

Which of course now taints the meaning of the word lifestyle, making it all too likely that non-swappers might be misunderstood when they use the word in its legitimate context.

That is my understanding too. However I sometimes see it used for any sexual behavior in a nudist environment including couples who do not wife-swap.

I also often see the term "Pervs" and I do not understand the scope of the term. What exactly is a perve?

The folks who cannot separate nudity with sexual content, with every encounter being a proposition instead of a conversation.

I'd keep an eye one the guy who befriends the 14-year old in the pool while there are adult women around he could talk to. Or the people who stare at the women playing volleyball or tennis instead of watching (or participating in) the game.

To Shy Guy. The fact that you are now a nudist and have visited a nudist park I suggest you change your username, your not shy anymore, congratulations. If you want to even up your tan I suggest you use Austrailian Gold Tan acceleration sold at drug stores I use it when nude in Florida it really works, put it on the white parts only and regular lotion on the tan, you will be even up in no time. Welcome to a great lifestyle, you,ll wish you had done it sooner.

All the more reason to use the term lifestyle. Why give up a legitimate word to them in order to hide what they are actually doing?

Its short for Pervert, the 'Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary' describes it as follows:

: one that has been perverted; specifically : one given to some form of sexual perversion

I agree. more times than not in these forums when one uses the word lifestyle they mean nudist lifestyle. I do appreciate the tip though so i will clarify to others that are not in the naturist community.
