Have you ever had someone come to your door unexpectedly and you were nude? I have had that happen several times.

Once the mail man came for me to sign something. He knows I am a nudist, he knew I was naked but came in so I wouldn't have to go out in front of the neighbors so I could sign the form.

Just now the water meter man came to tell me the meter was ok (there was a problem) and I had only a sweat shirt on, otherwise bottomless. He came inside to tell me what he did and I was mostly naked. This didn't bother him at all.

Has this ever happened to you ?

I've had a few people ( mostly my wifes sisters and nieces ) drive up while I was nude in the yard. I keep shorts handy in a couple buildings for these occaisions, but a couple times I was in the middle of the yard and couldn't get to them in time.
They pretty much just laugh it off and tease me about it once in awhile.
Most all of the family knows I'm a nudist now.
I figure if they keep comming over unannounced they must be ok with the possibility that I will be nude.

I've had the mail lady (twice) and the UPS guy come up in front of the garages with me nude out. I just collect what they have and go about their business. The mail lady usually waves after she turns around to go out.

A sheriff's deputy drove in one day when I was working with just a long-sleeved shirt on, and unbuttoned. I thought, "This is it!" Yes, he had a summons, but it was for jury duty for my wife. Told him she was in the house. He walked over, and I heard he banging on the door. He came out and got in his car. I was still working in just my shirt.

A friend of ours stops by from time to time unxpectedly. This last time we were nude in the garage painting a couple of night stands I just built. My girlfriend scambled to get some clothes on to answer the door, I stayed nude and finished the painting.

oh yes! when our daughter ,(who has moved out on her own now), was still at home she came in from work early and caught me at the computer nude answering e-mails. i figured why get something on already busted as my clothes were in the bedroom. we did tell her from the start that i enjoy the nude lifestyle. she made no bones about it as we didn't make it an issue.

Yea, the Jehovah's Witness's came over a couple of years ago. The wife was talking to them with the door open, and I walked past the door in the background, naked. It didn't take them long to leave. Funny, but they haven't been back ever since. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/smoking.gif

Hello nudeM. That's funny you should mention that in regards to the Jehovah's Witnesses. A co-worker of mine suggested answering the door naked when they come to your home with all of their literature and prepare to preach to you at your front door. I said to him "That would be offensive, don't you think?" He replied with "Well, they are coming to my house to offend me! So, I will beat them to the punch!" I guess I just can't imagine doing that. By the way, I can't afford to be outdoors naked where I live because I live in an apartment complex which is not oriented to nudism or naturism. If I get caught outside like that, I go to jail automatically. I get plenty of unexpected visitors. However, I am nude inside always. I just cover up when they arrive. This is especially true of my family members who despise the entire nudist lifestyle and concept!

After being up all night long working on a project I got up mostly asleep to answer the door. It was a Jehovah's Witness and a small child. I realized after I had opened the door I was only wearing my boxers. I was a little embrassed with the child but they kept on talking. It didn't phase them at all. I think in this situation if I had been nude they would not have cared. They were on a mission and my apperance didnt phase them at all.

Matt, I think there is a difference between wearing boxers and being naked. I'm sure they have seen boxers many times before, but not too many nude people. Boxers, nowadays, are being accepted as being shorts, so they are 'appropriate'.

With a child, the sight of boxers was no big deal, but I'm sure it would have been a different story if you were nude. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/smoking.gif

I have a few "boxer" shorts that I wear to work or anywhere else around town.
They have become accepted summertime apparel.

In populated areas, even if you take means to secure and fence your area one must allow or expect to have unannounced visitors, requests, and utilities personal and workmen and women to easements between property lines, to access electric, telephone, cable, fiber optic lines, boxes, on and atop poles, sometimes unannounced or without permission.

I often have electric, telephone and cable men and women technicians, and meter readers enter the property, or look through the property to check utilities, boxes, or take readings, or do troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs or work.

Often I’m out back nude or sunning or working on something and have never covered up, hid, or done anything different because they are there, want in, or come on to the property to do so. Sure I have got some looks, smiles, and turned heads and avoidance, but never had them turn around and leave or refuse to do what ever they came for, or ask me to cover up or put something on. After all they are on your property to do some work and have a reason to be there, but not reason to comment on your dress, nakedness, or what you’re doing on your own property.

In my lifetime I had dwelled in some 5 addresses, so about two dozen of different J.W. couples had tried to discuss their topics with me. I hope that minute long conversations gives me quite well experience be able to be more than sure that them NEVER are willing to INSULT someone but help in their specific way. (what we sometimes not like or even hate).

Once I thought its my wife and opened doors naked. That wasnt wife but J.W. We discussed may be 5 minutes at doors still naked, and they told by the way I am not only nakey at their territory. Somewhere, them told, are private house where lives a whole family (parents, grandparents and many children) all openly naked. And them are visiting even those discussing their topics to that family too.

Im sad I made a mistake, not asking exactly WHERE is this place. Somehow this family is otherhow unknown to naturist community here. May be unobtained soulmates...

Yet about J.W.
Somehow I see many people CALLS them insulting, offensive, minority, shamelessly violating such "high moral standads" as boozing, smoking or cursing.
We Naturists are called by majority of people the same way, insulting, offensive, minority, shamelessly violating such "high moral standads" as habitually hiding the real motivation within the skin under plenty of garments. Until teethes dressed, para-wisdomly speaking about cleanness and morality, but still doing a dirty things, and as more dressed as worser acting.

If we both groups (inspite our far different aims, methods and visual shape) are in the same social-political position by wiev of majority, if we both seems truely innocenly, deedlessly, aimlessly and undeserved bullified by those majority, it would be very shamfuly unethical from our side, to throw first stone to J.W. by us.

Everyone cultivating personal PREJUDICES against someone, sooner or later shall be prejudiced by someone the similar way back. Thats just a natural law of conservation of (resident) evil.

I did the same thing when the Jehova's witness knocked on my door. I was all nude when I opened the door and they never return since.

It works. Stay nude and Happy.

I am deeply religioius but do not subscribe to JW at all. In fact my religion is very open and very real. When JW comes to the door I have two words for them and it is not Merry Christmas.

Not so much a visitor, per se. A former roommate's girlfriend spent the night at our apartment every night. On most days I was up and out the door before either of them had awoken, so I would just go about my morning routine (packing a lunch, eating breakfast, etc.) wearing my lack of pajamas. On a couple of mornings she happened to get up earlier than usual and "caught" me in the kitchen. The first time she gasped, probably not expecting to see anyone that early, then said "I don't care." (She knew that I was a nudist before I signed the lease.) The second time, I think she was distracted (their relationship was on the rocks) and she apologized.

The only other time was when I was cooking dinner au natural. My roommate and his new girlfriend walked in to the apartment. I stood in a place in the kitchen where they could have seen me had they been looking. As they did not say anything, I am not sure whether they did not notice or did not care.

I try to avoid being seen by people who are not fans of nudity, mainly because the law is on their side. I am still looking for a nudist roommate, though.

RabidClam:

Okay, noone is caring do you LIKE their teachings. None are willing let you like them.

The same way noone is caring do dressed people likes us when in our heavenly costume state. None here are believing one day all the neigbours will invite us undress, here and now, and never dress again prancing at their property.

But elementary politness, I am sure, is appropriate EVEN for the people what we dont like!!!

If there exists an exclusion of ethicity in this plane, its about people we suspect trying to harm us (robbers as an example), but this is far not such case to underlie an excuse.

Realy dont undersdand why you are polite against ticket controliers at public bus or polite against not less hatred tax inspectors confiscating your bank account (hope never it happen). Do really I must conclude You are polite with them and unpolite with those door to door tickers ONLY because first two speks with you from the positions of brute force whilst last not?? I cant believe Your moral can be so double-standarted.

But generally I accept a nakey door opening style for them. Them are coming with their (psyche bodies) exibitionism. Thus we get free to exhibitionise our sensitivities (physical bodies) to them. If noone is harming the other side its only coin against coin. It could be separate deal:- do other that what you like other do to you.

Why not to offer them - come in to preach but mandatory totally undress and stay nude whilst speaking. Or if not agree, no discussion. Damn good idea. I shall experiment it maybe when them shall bell next time. Them are trying few times a year here.

Quite simply I do not allow those people or anyone else to preach to me. To preach is to tell me what religion is, how and what to believe, and what religion is.

My beliefs are different. I am not open to their ways and do NOT want to hear it. On top of that, my home is MINE. It does not mean that anyone can come to the door to tell me I am wrong and to do different when I pose no threat or harm to anyone as I am.

If I want their words then I will seek them out. Else they can be best advised to maintain distance from me.

Your anger is easily understandable. But then unwilling consequence is that anger of clothed people about us (naturists) is "righteous" too. What I cant agree.

My idea was if my "ideal world" would allow to scratch society eyelids being everywhere constantly nude, then I ought pay it back with the similar tolerance.

I am sure that lack of tolerance is deepest reason of most of today`s world problems. And them arent in a link on do someone support certain scratchy wievpoints or plainly contrary.

Tolerance is the right keyword we naturists expect from bigger society, then it would be strange to give back the opposite.

By the way. I just realized. We with You are sitting in a Globe opposite sides and speaking as close neighbours. Isnt that technical wonder? But what is more strange - the distance between us is at least 25 000 km yet we have the identical problem about the same religious group. Do them are knocking a doors even at Antarctica??

johny;

People have a right to be left alone also.

If those people want to buy add time on TV or radio, adds in papers, etc. that is their right.

However, to knock on my door and attempt to push their religion is offensive.

Clam;

A simple no thank you is appropriate and then close the door. If they don't leave and insist, then you can call the police if you want.

Just explain to them that if they want to push their religious beliefs on you, that you feel the need to return the favor. Just explain that your religious beliefs involve wearing the same clothes that were worn in the Garden of Eden.

we had been plagued by the JW's for sometime, same time every Wed. Finally I had enough. I told my wife I was going to tell them I was a nudist, if they would come in and take their clothes off and listen to me, I would listen to them. Her response....you wouldn't..oh no you would. Flash ahead to the next visit...the knock at the door. I answered and said, "I'm Roman Catholic." With God as my witness I could not believe these two old folks could move so fast....BTW, they never did come back. I wonder why.

I've yet to have JW's come to the door. Mormons have though. Two young men stopped by just as I had finished casting a circle. I was nude and had a handmade dagger in my hand. That was quite a sight - a naked man with a vicious looking knife at the door. If they have a data base of places NOT to stop, I'm probably in it.

Others have mentioned service workers like delivery people and meter readers. They've seen it all and are usually in a hurry. Do they care? No.

http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/cool4.gif Belle, my wife, was shocked to learn of my answering the door with only a t-shirt on and one of the neighbor ladies was there to borrow something. I went to get it, and put a terry wrap on.
The neighbor never mention it.

I was caught out last summer during early evening when a young woman neighbour came round unexpectedly to see my wife. She caught me as I came out of the back door of the garage where I'd been to get something. She was totally surprised, but I wouldn't say shocked, and we have been face to face (clothed I'm sorry to say) since without any embarrassment, not that I see why there should be. At least one more person knows I'm a nudist and I'm happy with that.

Luv this thread!
Dont know where to start!

1/ Visiting son and mate and mates girlfriend story.
My Nurse wife was working late shifts and always drove in home at around 11.30pm. Heard the car come in, switched on the Porch light and stepped out boldly in all my glory to find a late night visit (after the Pub) from Son and mate and g/friend sitting in a car about three yards away from me - heeellllllooooo Dad............

2/ The Tradesman.
I have a habit of throwing out suitable scraps for the Australian Magpies (Bless em) off our front porch. I opened the front door with a handfull of scraps - ready to throw - to find a tall burly tradesman just about to knock on the door. Ang on sez I, doing a runner for the bedroom and some shorts. Wife forgot to tell me she ordered a tradesman to come and give us a quote for a job.........

More to follow...............
