Why not? That's not the first time I've heard that suggested ticket.

I'm pretty sure I heard New York Democrat Senator Charles Schumer say, on The Daily Show, that he would be pleased to run with McCain on the 2008 Presidential ticket. The two are apparently very good friends. I think they would make a fine pair.

Looks like ncnudlady and I would concur with the prospect.

Or...Lieberman - McCain 08....I could support that one too...
As a liberal, I'm more inclined to support McCain if Bush's lapdog Lieberman were not on the ticket.

McCain was very seriously considered as a running mate for Kerry - they are also good friends due to their work together on Vietnam and veterans issues. McCain eventually put a stop to the talk, but he obviously enjoyed the attention it brought him.
I disagree with McCain on many issues, a lot of people overlook how conservative he really is. But I do have a lot of respect for him. I hope he is the Republican nominee in '08. I'd like to see an election where either of the major candidates would make a good president.
Leiberman on the other hand we can just kick to the curb. He isn't even going to keep his Senate seat.

Sounds good to me. That should really open the door for a Third party candidate to have a good shot at the White House.

It is true they may be old friends, but personally, I think Kerry did a lot of harm when he tried to run as a Veteran rather than a politician. Senator McCain, at times, disagreed with Kerry on several remarks he had made, especially on comments about POW's. It may sound like a good ticket, but there is too much conflict behind the scenes. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/smoking.gif

How about returning to the way it was in the first elections, the VP is the person who comes in second.

I will have to decline that honour. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/beam.gif
I'm not a fan of Lieberman. While he is doing some good things that I support, and I have enjoyed his wit on occasion, I don't trust his at all. He has attacked issues that I am for, and if he became P, or VP I think he'll go back on those bandwagons and actually have the power to do it.
McCain, as Mark said, is very conservative. While he has spoken out against this administration he has voted along party lines virtually every time. He's been kicked around by this administration a lot, yet there he goes sitting beside the president and going along with him. I don't trust McCain to actually stand behind what he says his beliefs are.
