hey i live 2 hours cape cod and i am wondering if anyone on here is from cape cod and if so are there any beaches besides herring cove where nudity is tolerated and i am able to run into other nudists. apparently nudity is illegal on the cape cod seashore but tolerated in someplaces but im not sure exactly where. massachusetts is a place where nothing makes any sense. if your a heroin addict and live here you can get free needles and syringes but you cannot go to the beach and swim nude legally. doesn't make sense to me but if anyone has information on nudity tolerant beaches on cape cod and possibly want to meet up this summer send me a message.

Why not volunteer for the 10th Annual NAC Beach Cleanup on Cape Cod? You will meet others and have a great day (if it ever stops raining up here...!)

There's also a nudist park on Cape Cod - Sandy Terraces Associates - it's actually in Marstons Mills...

My first social nude experience was on the beach in Truro. Beautiful area!!

To follow up Usuallylurk's posting--if you go to the Cape Cod cleanup you can visit Sandy Terraces the same weekend. If you volunteer, they'll give you a free night's camping, no questions asked whether you're single or not, the previous night, and a second night for $10 afterward. Then on Sunday morning for a few bucks there's a super breakfast served by some of the members. I've done this several times, though this year I have to pass on account of family business, but it's a fine deal and lots of fun.

If you'd like to see a few pictures, look in the photos area of the Naturist Society Outdoor Recreation Group.

I think you have to join the group to see the pictures (nothing very exciting, but they show what it's like).

The litter pickup is just a morning activity. After lunch there's a trip to the usually-tolerated "nude" beach while the rangers are in a good mood. Weather permitting, of course.

The only legal clothing optional beach is in Truro, but to park there you need a town beach permit, and to get one you need to be a resident or a renter. There is no parking close enought to walk in. The Cape Cod National Seashore prohibits nude sun bathing. There are areas where we go that are secluded. You either have to have a permit to drive out on the beach or hike in (a couple of miles). You have to keep an eye out for the park rangers who patrol the beach in trucks. They can and will give you a ticket for public nudity.

The east shore by Truro and north is really a great place but as the other gentleman said one needs to be very careful where the park rangers will not only ticket you but will take you to court as you are. Has happened. Just keep a set of shorts very close and when you see a vehicle or uniformed people put the shorts on. In fact, when you see any fully dressed folk on the beach it would be a good idea where you never know who is or isn't a ranger or who will complain.

But nude sunbathing and swimming there is done allot but with very good care taken.

Martha's vinyard has a fully nude beach area open to all. Unlike the cape where parking is very difficult at best the vinyard has more opportunities and fewer legalaties to negotiate.
