OK, since I have been accused of scaring off potential posters, let me make it up to y'all by starting this topic...
First Time Posters.
Many have joined, but few have posted. Now is the time. If you have never posted before, this is your challenge. Post now or forever hold your peace.
Tell us a little about yourself. How long you have been a naturist, what you like to do, age and occupation...you know, the usual getting-to-know-you stuff...
And to make you feel extra-comfy...I will not be posting on this topic again...this is just for you newbies...so have at it!!

I'm an unappreciated, pacific writer/artist who is beginning to regret selling my guitar and turning to the visual arts. Is it just me, or does the world love musicians and forget the fact that visual artists exist, unless they're successful computor animators with bottemless credit-accounts? We don't see young girls all going crazy fighting each other to see visual artists, in fact, we don't see anyone showing public interest in visual art, because they are all too busy chasing musicians, spending their money on concert tickets and the latest CDs.
Sorry, I had to get that off my back. As for naturism, I'm all for it, but at the moment, I've got to get out of debt before I have my vacation.

Unkat27,
Welcome to the forum and DO NOT REGRET your decision. That is what is good about this forum, getting things off your chest always relieves tension (and helps you breath easier in the literal sence) /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif .
The music business is very difficult to enter into, and the only reason the groupies flock to the musicians is because they are programed to do so by all the popular magazines, advertisements, and TV. Be a leader by leading the visual arts to new hights. It is a more intelligent crowd anyway.
I have a brother that hasn't even come close to making it in the music business no matter how good he is (and he is excellent). I have a daughter that is going to college to become a clothing designer (go figure... dad's a nudist). I hope she makes it and will always encourage her to try harder as you should do. Just don't give up. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
Thanks for posting!

PS: The brother I mean isn't the one in the "Fun Stuff Topic" in case you saw that.

Thanx Suntied, you're a real big brother. The thing you probably don't realize is how many times I've been givin the 'big brother' treatment, and how ineffectual it has been. Talk is cheap, but I don't resent it. unkat27

Hey Gamblefish,
I can see that you have a good sense of humor. I've been writing for years, but I've only begun to appreciate the humorous side of it, and I can see you've got it. As I understand it, it balances on a beam between those that see the humor and those who are easily offended. They should be more inclined to play cartoons for the fun of it than stand on pedestals for respect. It's more democratic. unkat27

Ok... I'll post...... I live in Ohio and I've been doing a ton of reading on all this to help prepare me for tomorrow... my first visit to a naturist resort. I gotta tell ya... the adrenal glands are working in full gear! ...and will no doubt be working overtime tomorrow...
I've been a closet naturist for several years (restricted to my back yard), but due to life altering circumstances, I haven't been able to enjoy that for the past 5 years since that's how long I've been living in an apartment complex. And I really miss it! So it finally occurred to me that the only way for me to continue this, is to go public. I located a resort within an hours drive and I took the first step in contacting them. Yeah, I have all the usual concerns of being a first-timer... but I'm no longer willing to watch life pass me by and be a spectator (pun NOT intended). I'll be diving into this with a tremendous amount of nervousness, but I don't expect it to last very long.
I've run across a variety of FAQ's on various sites that have helped ease my mind, and the posts here and on other message boards have been of equal help, and for that I wish to thank everyone that has helped put a positive spin on the entire subject! There have been a few posts that I've read that have brought up new, unsuspecting concerns however, but I expect to deal with these directly with the staff of the resort I'll be visiting, and leave the decision process in their hands. The deepest concern is the "profiling" of being a (divorced) single male in his mid 40's. I was naively unaware of this prospect before reading some of the posts, and yes, I completely understand the concerns behind such thoughts. I've concluded there isn't a thing I can do about it... except put this off for another 10 years... and if I've learned anything in the last couple of months worth of research, is not to be one that wished they had done it sooner! So now is the time...
I'm banking on the fact that the naturist community understand that people like me DO indeed exist and are not seeking the cheap and disgusting thrill. I intend to embrace this life with arms wide open... the next few weeks and subsequent visits will determine if the life will embrace me in return. My hope in humanity is allowing me to take this risk.
Wish me luck!!
P.S. If there is an interest, I'll pass along my first day's experience.

Hi... I am a Florida (central) travel agent. A friend and I are going to Apollo Beach next
Monday. I like going during week when it's quieter-almost like having the beach to yourself.
Our first time going was last summer. After about
10 minutes it was "what's the big deal about being
nude at the beach". It felt really natural and the
only way to be. It's sad that so many people
have such a shameful attitude toward our bodies and equate nudity with sex.
Take Care

Hi, my name is Dave and I'm a 20 year old Aussie.
I've only been to beaches a couple of times, but am hoping to get into it a bit more. I would love to hear from others in Sydney so perhaps if they are kind enough to give me some encouragement it may help...
I've been reading this forum for a long time, yet have never registered until now. It's nice to finally stick my head up and say 'hi'.

I understand where you are coming from, Donnie.
It's a very nervy thing to do, despite the fact that we undress at home with no qualms whatsoever.
Isn't it strange how such a normal, perfectly natural thing can become such a silly taboo?

Donnieboy, welcome to the forum. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
I have a question... since nudism is "illegal /infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif " in Arkansas, where do you go to practice it?

Hi all,
I'm new here, having just joined yesterday. I'm a 40yo married father that loves being naked as much as possible at home...so far in front of my wife and 16yo son. Haven't gone naked in front of the daughters yet. Really want to try going out in public this summer at either a beach or nudist resort, but doubt my wife will join me; I think my son would. Have gove to nude beach a couple of times, but not in many years.
Love the info I'm getting here.

I go into the mountains on a creekebd that is hidden and about 3 miles from the roadway. Not easy to get to,considering I have to walk along way to get to it.Once we get into the mountains.
