I still think there should be a "None of the Above" option...

Budgie-smugglers? Ugh. Give me boardies any day.
Or swimming nude. Preferably swimming nude. But if it's unavoidable, boardies. No budgie-smuggglers. Well, maybe under the boardies.

I am certainly not a young nudist but just wanted to point out to the young naturists that there are swim suits out there that you can tan through although most of them are in the "speedo" style.

it's all board shorts
they are really loose and airy like being nude, but not...
I'd also go for the Board Shorts... My junk has got to breathe!!!!

Before I became a nudist at age 16, I always had speedo's from the "hom" brand. At the time, these were the smallest you could find, I talk about 30 years ago.

If I have to wear anything (99% of the time) I prefer board shorts.

If I have to I prefer board shorts. they are longer but offer more freedom than speedos. As for thongs, I expressed my view on those elsewhere

It all depends on my activity. I wear a Speedo when I swim laps. If I am just hanging out at the beach, I would go for the board shorts. It's all about comfort.

I say speedo for sure. hate the wet trunks sticking to my legs. also, the speedos dry much quicker. and, since you have to wear something a speedo tan is better than trunk tan.
since i started swimming laps, it's been speedos.

Being female, none of those poll choices really apply. I do however, prefer my tan through suits if I have to wear one. At least that way I'm getting a bit of sun on the buns.

I agree that its all about comfort. If it can't be nude then boardshorts it is.

Personally, when I have to wear a swimsuit (which is most of the time) I prefer boardshorts. They are comfy and don't bind like trunks do. The other option I have found is to wear basketball shorts. Wear them into the water, take them off when you are deep enough, swim to your heart's content in the nude, and slip them back on before going ashore.

Never having worn boardshorts I have a question. Do the boardshorts have a mesh liner like boxer bathing suits and if so do you cut this out of them?

If they do I imagine they are usually cut out. Some of the <STRIKE>punks</STRIKE> kiddies I see wearing board shorts wear boxers underneath them - allowing the shorts to droop below hip level.

I personally don't have liners in my boardshorts. I don't wear boxers underneath either. But I really prefer b-ball shorts so I can take them off in the water and get them back on again.

If I 'had' to wear swimwear, I would wear trunks, or running shorts, with the liner removed. Might as well feel nude as much as possible when you absoutely have to wear something. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/smoking.gif
