What do you guys think of downloading games vs buying a boxed copy? I'm not talking about piracy, I'm talking about buying a game, but getting it in downloadable format.

I'm looking at getting NHL Eastside Hockey Manager (http://www.sega.com/games/game_temp.php?game=nhlmanager2005) but the only way I can find it is in downloadable format.

You can pay an extra $10 to get a backup CD sent to you, but is it just a CD or is it like a boxed version?

Call me old fashioned, but I prefer to have a box with my game. It makes it more tangable to me I suppose.

Personally, I'd like to have a hard copy of a game/program, in case my PC goes belly-up. I actually had that happen to me, and I lost a couple of legit Napster songs.

If I can get a free download from someplace like OpenOffice anytime I want, though, I have no problem, so long as there's no malicious software.
