I live in Nashville and travel to Timberline near Crossville, TN (about 2 hours). There is a club in Murfreesboro, TN (about 45 minutes) away but I won't visit there again. I was just curious if there are any non-landed nudist clubs or groups of people in or around Nashville.
I'm not up for starting anything. I might get together with them if there are and I am invited. However, I am mainly trying to satisfy my curiosity. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

brainyguy,
I'm in Nashville but don't belong to any landed or non-landed clubs. I'm just a guy who likes being nude at home, but haven't tried any resorts yet. Was thinking about it, though. I was curious about your negative experience at Rock Haven (I believe that's the resort you were referring to in Murfreesboro). Can you be more specific why you wouldn't return there?

I guess I take longer to get warmed up to a place or people. I visited the first time and had a good time. The people were nice and the activities seemed varied. However, there were very few people less than 50 years old or so when I was there. The maintenance needed a little work (there were showers that didn't work, leaky faucets, pool equipment that needed to be replaced, etc.). Nothing major but it added up.
I could look past all of that.
But, I went for my second time and upon checking in, the lady (I believe she was one of the owners) asked me if I had been there before. I said "Yes" and she looked up my card that I had filled out previously. When I checked in, she handed me a few pages of paper and told me to enjoy my day. So, I put the papers in my car (I thought they were just newsletters, etc.) and stripped down. I had a good day and then went home.
When I got home, I began to look over the papers. One of them explained that after the 2nd visit, you would be required to buy an annual membership to return. The membership was $500-$550 (I don't remember exactly) a year.
This was my second time to any social nudist setting so I was very disappointed. As a recent college grad and just getting started in a career, I didn't have that kind of money to spend on a membership. Plus, I wasn't sure I would go that many times a year to justify spending that much on it. Plus, I was upset that she just handed it to me without drawing my attention to it. It was an hour's drive each way for me at the time. If I had not read the paper, I would have shown up again to find that I couldn't register without joining. I would have been very upset then.
I found Timberline and have had a GREAT time every time I go. The grounds are well-maintained, the age group is much younger (mainly 30-40 with quite a few 20-30 year olds), and the staff is great. PLUS, you can buy day-passes when you go. No membership required!!
I have been quite a few times but it's never enough. It's a 2 hour drive for me now (I recently moved) but it's worth every second.
Probably more information than you wanted, but I feel strongly about the situation I was placed in.
Hope this helped.

bg,
It's definitely not more information that I wanted to know. I've been checking the websites for the two places you mentioned, and am interested in visiting both places to form my own opinion. But your comments are very interesting and helpful. thank you.
