Anyone know of any nude beaches at the Mexican Riviera? (Cabo,Mazatlan,Puerto Vallarta)

Anyone know if Royal Caribbean cruise ships have nude sun decks?

There are some resorts that have private beaches for nudity. But mexican beaches are public property and it isn't legal to be nude in public on any of them.
I was to Puerto Vallarta 2 years ago and I did see to Brittish gals going topless. But that's a far cry from a nude beach.
Your best bet is to find nude resorts rather than public beaches.

We are traveling Carnival to Cozemel later this month. We called the cruise line and asked and they said the top deck is topless only. But the lady said several other larger ships also have a nude deck. and after talking she admitted that the top deck of our ship sometimes becomes nude if the crowd and captain allows. Just call and ask.
I also have been doing research on teh internet and have found nude beaches in the part of Mexico we are going to (PlelaDe Carmen, Telum)
Good Luck

Maxx,
I think that one of the locations you mentioned is spelled - Playa del Carmen.
From my little Spanish knowledge, it translates - Beach of Carmen, or Carmen Beach.

The internet says it is 40 miles south of Cancun, but I know nothing about nudity on the beach. Enjoy!

Say, maxx, were you aware that you could have cruised to Mexico on the Carnival Ecstasy on 2/28? 2000+ passengers, completely nude, everyplace except the formal dining rooms.

It's down the Pacific coast, out of L.A., though, and returns on 3/10. Missourigirl and I will be on it! /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I was interested in the California dreamin' trip as well, but couldn't get the time off work. Since Bare Necessities seems like they will be doing more of these, I'd be interested in how this turns out. Maybe when you get back, you could post a review on it. If it's done next year, my wife and I hope to go.

Have a great trip /infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

We are also going to the Cancun area and are in search of either a nude beach or resort. Does anybody have any specifics that they would be willing to share with us?

There are a couple of resorts within driving distance from Cancun. Playa Naturel is on the Yucatan peninsula and, so I'm told, about 90 minutes from Cancun. It accommodates just 14 guests and is located on a beautiful beach. Farther away (240 miles) is Playa Sonrisa, which is 70/30 nudist/textile. They both have websites. This time of year, they sure sound good.

Corey Mangold, President of the INA, Bern Loibl from Naturally magazine and others are in Cancun, Mexico, at this moment documenting resorts and beaches. He will come back in about 8 days with video, photos and info for the INA website. Everyone be sure and check back. Thanks!

Hidden Beach Resort is supposed to open in mid-May. According to the information I have seen, it is located only about 1 hour south of Cancun. I do not know when caddy daddy was planning to go, nor whether he planned to take children (Hidden Beach will be adults only), but it might be worth looking in to. The only place I have found it on the web is at Castaways Travel Agency's site: http://www.castawaystravel.com/ . Go to their home page, click on destinations, scroll down to Mexico and click on Hidden Beach Resort. There is a lengthy write-up and several pictures. I hesitate to mention this place because I don't want it to get so booked up that my wife and I can't get reservations later this year. On the other hand, I would like to see it prosper so it stays in business. After all, this thread was originally started by Nude Rick looking for a place on the western side of Mexico. The only clothing optional resort on that side that I have heard of is Loreto Desert Sun, in Baja. Unfortunately, it has been closed for over a year.

We would have loved to be on it with you but that was the only cruise that fit our time frame. Wife didn't have enough vacation.

From there you can walk the entire beach of a large bay, est 2 mi of beach. It's just 4mi north of Tulume but you'll need specific directions to find it.

Nude Rick (Cen Ca.)

+++++++Though on the east coast, not near the west coast places you mention, you will find happiness in Tulum, a town about an hour drive south of Playa del Carmen, which in turn is south of Cancun. The public beach immediately south of the Mayan ruins is clothing-optional. Cabanas such as Santa Fe and Don Armandos are the part of the beach you want to be on, but going south topfree/g-string is normal anywhere and full nudity takes place too. Further south on the beach is a property called Cabanas Copal www.cabanascopal.com (http://www.cabanascopal.com) and they are a clothing-optional property. Nice website. their neighbor property, Papaya Playa, is also clothing-optional. South of there is a property called mayaTulum, also friendly to nude sunbathers. Further south still, going into the Biosphere reserve, is miles of totally deserted beach. The properties I mentioned are very affordable, though rustic. On the west coast of Mexico, Zipolite is a haven for nude sunbathing.

If you're looking for the west side of Mexico, try Loretto over in Baja, up from Cabo San Lucas. There's a nude resort over there - at least there used to be. Good golfing, too. I'm not aware of any on the Riviera. If you want Pt Vallarta, you might try a bit farther north in Rincon Guiabitos, fabulous beaches just south of Rincon. They are more private, rather than common nude beaches. When there, check out Decamaron's Cocos hotel... great time there.

Carnival Cruise Line might be a better choice for nude/topfree activity on the upper deck.
