Oh yeah, right! And like you're trying to tell me this letter I got in my e-mail from Mr. Longondondo in Lagos is not legitimate and that he's not really trying to get his eighty million dollar inheritance out of the clutches of the military junta there.
Listen to me buddy, you ain't horning in on my deal here. This is it! My ship has come in and it's at the dock and I'm climbing on board.
All I've got to do it mortagage the ranch, sell the equipment and borrow money from my friends and relatives and send it Nigeria in order to set up a dummy account that Mr. Longondondo can use to transfer his wealth into in order to move it out of Nigeria in bearer bonds.
Out of gratitude Mr. Longondondo is going to share half the eighty million with me.
And you're trying to tell me theres some sort of website set up saying that this chance of a lifetime is a fraud or something and all.
I told you, I ain't cutting you in.
Just how gullible do you think I am.

Do you realize how many people actually fall for these things and do just what you said?
It is truly amazing!

Back in 1980s I had a job with the Federal Government in which I prepared statistical reports which were used by congress to make legislative decisions. One of the things I noticed in those days was the attitude that if it was on a computer printout (remember those?), it must be true. For some people some things don't change.

The Nigerian guys picked me because I am an especially bright individual. They know I am trustworthy. A man of my word.

Common Sense is gone out the window. If it sounds too good to be true, more than likely it isn't true.

Who cares about the money??
There is a woman in Romainia that fell in love with me after only 3 minutes in a chat room. And all I gotta do is send her enough money to fly her over here and she's mine.
I sure hope she can get along with my wife. LOL

Usmc, I already got that account set up with those Nigerian folks. Sorry I beat you to it but if you send me the money you were gonna send them I'll cut you in for 10 percent. Just to be decent about it and all.
Sincerely,
b.l.

I actually won the British Lottery. All I had to do was give them my credit card so they could arrange my flight to London to pick up the check. I asked them to just take the ticket amount out of my winnings... I haven't heard back from them...
