Hi nudist friends, I have an idea for an organization that helps those non-nudists who are interested in becoming nudists, but feel uncomfortable visiting a nudist resort. The organization would welcome first -timers or those who feel uncomfortable around the opposite sex. There would be two organizations. One would be for the males and the other would be for females. The female organization would help non-nudists, first-timers and those who are uncomfortable around the opposite sex get used to being nude with their gender first. Throughout the week, this organization would host games, activities and events that normally take place at nudist resorts, but with the same sex genders. On Friday's they would prepare to meet with the opposite sex, by inviting certain males to visit the females and females to visit the males. On the weekend the females would get together with the males, and vice versa. I think more members are most likely to get involved because there is not a lot of pressure on them to get involved in a resort with the opposite sex..It's kind of like spoon feeding naturism or nudism to first timers, or those who don't feel comfortable around the opposite sex.

I would love to hear feedback on this organization idea. Please post your thoughts or comments.

http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/confused.gif Your idea sound plausable. But, as with any other idea, it would not work for all. I like it, though.

Well, for some people it might be a helpful way to get started. My earliest nude memories from childhood include being put in the bath with my girl cousin, the bath supervised by our 2 moms. Also being bathed by mom at the kitchen sink, while standing on a chair. My first social nude experiences came in my late teens and were all male skinny dips and other naked larks of that sort. Then I asked a female friend if I could take it all off for her, and invited her honest critique, and she accepted the offer. She seemed to enjoy the opportunity as much as me, though she stayed clothed. From then forward, I've felt no real discomfort being nude in front of anyone who is not offended and prudish, whether they are nude or clothed. On my rare opportunities to visit a nude beach, I'm nude from the second I enter the nude area until the second I leave it.
Anyway, some people might transition better in same-sex company. Then again, some people may have issues with it because it is same-sex! The best way for most people is to just take the plunge, and they soon lose the apprehensiveness and enjoy the freedom.

I find that with my friends and the people that I work with. They are not shy geting naked with the oppisite sex but they are shy geting naked with the same sex. My son has a friend he is about 30 yrs old. Last year he hurt his back and the doctor told him to use moist heat, so Isugested he come over for a sauna. He said that it would be to weird being naked in front of another guy. But if he could find a female friend to join us then that would be ok. This guy has 4 brothers so i would think that it wouldn't bother him.

Most of the people that i work with know that i am a nudists. I have never asked any of them to come over for a sauna. They all say that they don't want to see me naked and they won't get naked in front of me. It would be ok to be naked if there are women around but not with other guys.

For women there is WINR (http://www.northcoast-naturists.org/winr/whatis.html) - Women in Nude Recreation. Unfortunately WINR is not very widespread, the AANR WINR initiative appears to be stalled.

As for men, I suspect that with our societal homophobia, a nude all-male group used to introduce men to nude recreation would be a tougher sell than mixed sex social nudity.
