i'm going on vacation to florida in a couple of weeks. i am relatively new to naturism and i wondered if there were a wiser one out there who could recommend a good beach to go to. i'm in my twenties so i would prefer not to go to a place where there is no one under 50years old(no offense to any older naturist friends here). can anyone help me out?
thanks,
nathan

Haulover Beach is located three miles south of the Broward County Line in North Miami. Turn right on AIA at the end of 163rd Street. Drive 1 mile south to Haulover inlet.

Apollo Beach is located at the north end of the Canaveral National Seashore.

In addition to Hauover and Apollo beaches mentioned by others, there is the north end of Playalinda Beach, at the south end of Canaveral National Seashore -- access via Titusville.
These three, all on the east coast of Florida, are the only officially tolerated clothing-optional beaches in Florida.
You can get directions to any of these beaches using Google.
As is the case everywhere in North America, you find a younger crowd at clothing-optional beaches and an older crowd at nudist clubs. [corrected]

Nathan: I think Gary means that you will likely find more young people on nude beaches in the U.S. than you will find in traditional nudist resorts/clubs.
By the way, welcome to the INA forum!

nathan

Florida is a huge state.... you can take about 15 hours driving from the north panhandle to the Keys. You need to get more specific about where you are going in Florida.

actually that is a good point. i am going to spend most of the week in the pensacola area (gulf coast), but i may drive down to see my aunt and uncle near miami. (truth be told, i am thinking about going to my aunt's so i can go to a nudist beach, haulover is it's name,i think. of course if there is a nudist beach up on the panhandle i would probably go there instead of making the long drive to my aunt's. this would be my first social nudist experience and it is real important to me that i try it out while i'm on vaccation next month.)

I've heard of a nudist beach on the panhandle. I don't know the name though.

Nathan,
Type in the search words,
Nudist Beaches in Florida - Southwest Florida Online
This site lists that there is a clothing optional section of a beach located near Pensacola Florida, which is Navarre Island Beach, on a barrier island which is connected to the mainland by two bridges.
Complete instructions are given for reaching the area.
Have a good time!

One must be very careful at Navarre Beach, since the crackdown in 1999. People were ticketed and fined that summer, and nude use after that was clandestine for a while.
The CO section is actually on Eglin Air Force Base. Walk about a mile east from the pier at Navarre Beach until you see the fence with a military sign on it. Continue past the fence to check out current usage. There were some nudists there last summer; talk to locals there to get the current skinny. Last I heard, the crackdown sheriff was not reelected.
The two bridges to Santa Rosa Island are about 19 miles apart, at Pensacola Beach (west bridge) and Navarre (east bridge). Both are toll (outbound only, free coming back).

Nathan,
You could call the two nudist resorts very near Pensacola and ask their office personnel about the situation at the beach.
You could also ask about attending their resort, as I think they probably admit persons without a female along, but it would help if you joined either one of the following two nudist organizations, AANR or TNS and presented your membership card, but don't let that keep you from asking about attending the resort.
