For some purely female company, check out the womens' forum. Anyone can read it, but only women can write in it (get permission from Doug)

There are actually more women here than you would guess at first glance. Some (like me) do not have photo avatars, and do not use an obviously female name. Also, contrary to stereotypes, the people here that love to talk forever on any subject, Blah, blah, blah, are almost all male. So you see many of their postings.

But there are many women who participate, and many who really say something worth reading when they choose to post. Quality vs quantity.

Our voices are heard, and the vast majority of the guys are very pleased at female participation and treat us with respect.

I'm a female who comes on this board about once a year, and enjoys sleeping in the nude every night--but that's about it for now. (Hooray for locks on doors!)

Another common stereotype, similar to the one Sailor pointed out, is that females are hopelessly addicted to chocolate and gab on the phone nonstop.

Wouldn't it be nice if some day we could get beyond 'he' and 'she' and just see each other as individuals first? Or maybe that will never happen?
