Tad + Rubik's Cube = 1 minute, 32 seconds

Wowsers! My last four Rubik's Cube solves (in minutes and seconds) have been 2:05, 2:09, 1:32, and 1:49. The 1 minute, 32 seconds is my new 21st Century personal record. And I'm finally reclaiming my youth, because my lifetime personal record (back in the early 1980's) was 1 minute, 30 seconds. I guess, now, since there's only 2 seconds difference, I might as well stop making a distinction as to which Century or Millennium the record is from. Basically, my Rubik's Cube solving time now averages around two minutes, with a record of one and a half minutes. Yay!

My best time for solving Rubik's Cube is around 67 seconds, as I recall. However, that was also nearly a quarter of a century ago... I got a Rubik's Cube and a Rubik's Revenge for Christmas 2005, and when I tried the cube, I'd forgotten most of the combinations, and it took me 10-15 minutes to solve! Looks like I really lost my touch there... I have a ways to go to catch up to ya there, Tad!

Your 67 second lifetime record still beats my 90 second (1 min, 30 sec) lifetime record. That was also a quarter century ago for me. Although, like I've written about, I came pretty close recently with 92 seconds (1 min, 32 sec).

I timed myself twice today/yesterday (past 24 hours). I did 2 min, 27 sec and 1 min, 38 sec. Around both ends of my 2 minute average http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/wink3.gif

I never timed it, but I always found it easier after the stickers had been taken off at least once. That way moving the stickers around didn't take long at all...
