Naked Party

I teach at a large university in the Mid-Atlantic region. Several years ago, I was chatting with students before class began (who didn't know of our naturist tendencies) and a female student began reminiscing with her fellow students that she had gone to visit a friend on another campus over the weekend, and they had gone to a 'naked party.' She went on to explain that it was nothing sexual - simply that people arrived, doffed their clothing, and continued on with the typical socialization patterns of a weekend college kid gathering.

Anyone else know of any such traditions amidst college age students? She talked as though it were a common occurance, but I've never heard any other kids speak of this since.

When I was a freshman at Middle Tennessee State University (Fall of 1991) I was invited to a nude pool party. I didn't go because I was too scared to (I was a home nudist then and was generally very shy then as well). When the guy who invited me told me about it the next Monday he said that there were about 15-20 people that showed and that about half went nude, some of the females went topfree, and about 3-4 people kept their swimsuit on. He said they grilled out hamburgers and had plenty of beer, etc. and had a non-sexual blast. I questioned beforehand in my mind whether it was going to be a non-sexual event or not because the guy seemed to have the "I'm a stud" air about him. However, it sounded to me like it was a nudist party when he described it on Monday.

I wish I had gone and always kept my ears open for another one but I never heard of one. Perhaps I hung out with the wrong crowd. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

At Cornell, where I went, nude parties were not unheard of. In fact, rumor has it that Christopher Reeve attended a few nude parties when he was a student in the 70s.

[In college my Frat had naked parties by our pool. They were great. We had fun. Yes we drank beer and everyone was naked. There were women there and actually think there was more respect with us naked than when we were dressed. We had fun. Hey I wish some of my friends would have one now.

Years ago we had what we called Barbarian revels. The rules were, come dressed like a barbarian (i.e. Conan) or come naked. Some people came naked.

Along that line now days, we have Beltaine parties were there is a body painting contest, hot tubs, and fertility rituals (skyclad). These parties are NOT swinger type stuff, but I would also not allow anyone under 18 to attend. Too much of a liabilty.

I just graduated and the only thing I heard of like that was when some girl got really drunk and got naked. Of course all the dude huddled around and gawked.

Doesn't sound like nudism to me, or at least any I would want to be associated with.

A good naked party has rules (not too many) and good people. A bad party of any kind is chaos and rudeness.

A good naked party doesn't require nudity and the nudity doesn't begin right off the bat, usually it takes place 20 minutes into the party. There is good music, a little dancing if you have room for it, a nice mix of guys and gals, RESPECT for the ladies, snacks, a game if you wish, lots of conversation, and maybe a theme. The naked party I showed had a backpack theme. Nudity is not sexual, it is an icebreaker, a way of getting honest and real with people.

When I was a senior in college I lived with five other guys in a rented house. We had a number of "naked parties" where I and a fair number of the guys were naked. Most of these parties included girls and most of the girls stayed dressed although at times some were known to strip nude. I agree that the girls liked the fact that the guys were comfortable being nude and we did not insist that they likewise strip. Here is a picture from a "naked party".

When I was in my early 20s I hosted a few nude parties. At the time I didnt know it was something that anyone else did or knew about nudism. We would start as a pool party and play strip volleyball until everyone was nude, then continue on with the party sans clothes. No sex involved just having fun in our own skin.
