We have a topic section here called "The Fun of Nude Recreation" and we discuss "Nude Recreation" as a topic on pretty much all the topic areas. But shouldn't we have a section called "Nude Living"? After all, I try and spend as much time nude as i can around home and that is not always recreation. I even remodeled my kitchen in the buff, and that certainly is part of every day living.

I just thought that maybe we should broaden the scope. Other than that , I am very happy with the topics, it is still the best site on the net for us.

What we do nude in everyday life -

sleeping, showering, breakfast, watering the garden, mowing the lawn, repairing the mower, digging in the garden, swimming, lunch time (weekends) , dinnertime, Yoga, walking around the farm at night (a great experiance), lunch picnic with friends, etc etc, Unfortunatly I must dress to go to work each day.

The most recent best experiance in nude living was two nights ago. It was a very hot day and at bed time the temperature was still 93F so I suggested that we put our bed out on the front lawn and sleep under the stars. It was fantastic, covered only by a sheet as the night cooled, almost full moonlight, lying on our bed looking at the stars, listening to the night animals and birds singing with a cool breeze wafting around our bodies. When you wake up during the night the stars are VERY bright, a beautiful sight.

It was wonderful, in the morning waking and seeing the changing light on the hills as the sun rose.

Unfortunatly last night a thunderstorm blew up so we were forced inside.

Weather permitting, which is most of the time here, I do just about everything in the house and backyard nude.
Yesterday, I extended the flashing on the pool shed roof. I remembered to wear shorts whilst I was actually on the roof, but was nude the rest of the time.
When the job was done, I unthinkingly started up the ladder to get the rest of the tools down, when I suddenly realised that another 3 or 4 steps may not be appropriate.
Being comfortable with one's body sometimes necessitates a little bit of extra conscious thought.

We found a place here in retirement where I can, at last, go nude almost anywhere on the property, even within sight of neighbors to the right and left at certain points in the front yard. They don't mind. They've all "caught" me at some point. So, I don't bother much with clothes outside any more. Get dressed at times going to the mailbox during the day and have to be careful out front during school bus return times. I take nude hikes every day on trails I maintain across neighbors' natural areas down below along the creek. Almost never see anyone down there. When I do, no one minds.

At my age, my wife wants me to wear something over IT inside the house. We men get kinda drippy. I wear a wrap or a thong, usually.

I live nude when I'm at home, and I do everything inside in the nude. I'm still trying to sell my house and move into Turtle Lake Resort where I can be nude any time the weather permits.

At home, when it's warm enough, I'm naked all the time. Unfortunately it needs to be pretty warm--80F or higher--for me to be comfortable in the nude while relaxing or sitting at the computer, so in wintertime I usually wear something.

I prefer to paint while in the buff, also. Even if it's when I use am trying to be artistic. I do wear a hat when I paint ceilings, though. It's so much easier to get the paint drippings off my skin than off my clothes. (I shower as soon after I'm done painting, so much of the paint hasn't set, yet.)

I always paint in the nude. When we moved into this house, I as painting the day before the movers came, and one of the service guys came by early to spray. The door was unlocked and he let himself in. He shouted back to me nd I told him I was painting and was also naked! He said he was cool with that, went about his business, and came back for a signature and a check.

When we moved our business into an older, used warehouse several years ago, I painted the entire thing inside without clothes. The landlord made me paint before leaving as well, and I did it all nude then too, only I wasn't as neat as the first time around!! LOL

Great idea on the new topic. NetNude has one on Home Nudist which is great. Since I work at home a couple days a week, I really get to enjoy the freedom. Also, thanks for the hat idea, dah! the last time I painted my wife got a chuckle from the speckles.

When looking for our current house, I was very focused on privacy. I told the agent, "If I can go nude anywhere in my yard and garage area without being seen, we'll look at it. Otherwise, don't bother. We found a great place with 6' block walls all around and a private driveway/garage. I do everything nude. Wash the cars, mow the back yard, swim, sunbathe, exercise, gardening...everything. I only put on a pair of shorts to mow the front lawn. Life as it should be!

I don't see why most things couldn't be done nude. Many "primitive" tribes live their whole lives nude. What we need to do is create a big mega-resort somewhere, with its own ecomony (to some extent), so people can live, work, or do anything nude!

Myself, I do what I can nude, but wear clothes where something is dangerous or dirty. I would never work on my car nude or install barbed-wire fence nude (not that I do that often).

Doing most anything in the nude is fun. I get to be nude nearly all the time where I live so I am one happy nudist.

I try to do most things nude around house and yard but unfortunately live in a climate that only allows me to do this for about 4 months of the year.

I agree that "recreation" doesn't describe a lot of what I would include in "nudism."

I know that there have been other discussions about is nudism a lifestyle or a hobby/pastime. I think that is kind of the difference between nude living and nude recreation.

If it is a lifestyle for you, you will have done things (or be thinking what you can do) to be able to be nude more. Anything from keeping your drapes/curtains/blinds closed, putting up a fence or planting tall bushes to moving into a nudist park/resort or buying a house or land with privacy as a major issue in the selection.

I work for a homebuilder and I can't imagine that anyone who buys a house in one of our subdivisions could have much nudist tendencies. Houses are close together and mostly two stories, so even fences wouldn't give much privacy.

But who knows? Just today, in the yard next to the house I was working in, the two little girls, maybe about 4 and 2 years old, were topless, the younger one in just panties, with dad and grandparents present and no one running to dress them "properly" until it started to cool off.

Maybe this is a place for y'all to tell about some of the things you have done, or want to do, to accomodate nude living.

Me, I went and bought a house with 20+ acres of quite private woods. More went into buying this place than just the need to get nude, but it was a big factor also.

What about anyone else?

Iam nude as soon as Iam in the door and do as much as I can nude. I live in town so my outdoor activities are pretty much limited to sitting on the back porch at night in the summer nude or going to Forest Hills once in awhile http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/beam.gif

Here in my part of Europe, weather permits it only during the summer time. Right now it is windy and it rains, so you have to be inside with the heat on.

But the proposition of the new topic, well, I think it is a good idea.

I am nude as soon as I get home. Sometimes I don't even wait until I leave the garage. My wife goes nude almost as much as I do, but she's a bit more cold natured than me. We sleep nude, year-round. Everything we do in the house, and backyard, we do nude.

I guess my wife and I's nude days at home are finished until next May. Vancouver Island doesnt get as cold as the rest of Canada, seldom snows but it is not nekkid weather outside and would have to jack heat very high on inside.. Oh well - still sleep naked and are able to get away several times during the winter to warmer, more naked friendly climes.

The only way we could live MORE naked is to live in a nude resort or club. We are also naked all the time at home, do everything in and around the house in the nude and only dress when we leave the house.

The only thing stopping us from moving to a nude club or resort to live is that my wife fears our kids won't come to visit. When asked this of our daughters, they respond by saying they would come to visit but not sure if they would if they HAD to be naked.

I keep hoping and asking but she's not ready yet by a long shot. So Living Nude in our current home is okay with us for now!

I know a few people that made that jump. Depends on resort rules. For instance, though WTR (http://www.whitetailresort.org/), is not a CO resort, clothing is allowed at your home or campsite. Just not in the 'public recreation' areas. ( Though on a cold day, you'll see plenty of dressed people at the snackbar, poolside http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif )
Anyway, numerous siblings and offspring have visited their relatives. Oncw, twice, then they seem to literally stay there!! http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/beam.gif
Show this to your wife and check policies at your local live-in resort. Each case is different.

(Allow me to try to explain something too;
I have no interest in a CO resort, but when you see dressed people YOU KNOW at a Non-CO, or with somebody you know, it doesn't cause any concern. It's when a stranger shows up at the pool, or elsewhere, clothed, that people perk up. I know I said it badly, but I hope you got the gist of what I wanted to say. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif )

Just put that in as a way of saying your daughters could probably visit a place like that and feel welcome, not out of place. ( I'm not sure I even made sense to me, if it doesn't make sense to you, I apologize in advance. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/sad3.gif

I'd love the chance to live in a nude resort full time. I know that at times friends might not want to visit or maybe even relatives but I'd not let that stop me from living the way I wanted. I think is nice to make people feel comfortable and happy but not if it means your going to be less happy yourself.

I spend maybe half my time nude (a third of it in bed - I nearly always sleep nude - the only exception being when I camp out in really cold conditions, and where thermals in the sleeping bag ..), but I have to wear clothes when I go to work, go into town, or when I'm around most of my family and/or friends.
To live the majority of my life nude, I would need to have more work where I can stay nude (I do some nude work - Artists' model, masseur, bushwalking guide - but that's only part-time, unfortunately..), and live somewhere where the locals wouldn't be offended (there are some semi-rural areas that are more nude-friendly, but finding employment can be a problem then..).
I would still need to dress to visit bigger towns and cities, to visit most friends and relatives, and for protection (when it gets cold, and for some activities where protection is mandatory). Being nude permanently would mean moving to a warmer climate, and simplifying my life greatly - unless society changed to accommodate we nudists.

I guess I was spoiled by the nearly 3 months spen nude lving in Cap D'agde, France. Our family pretty much lives nude 24/7 here at our home in AZ. The warm weather and privacy walls makes it ideal fro the nudist lifestyle. Working from home, it is only when I go out to meet clients that I find the need to dress.

In most cases, modern subdivisions are some of the worst places (second to appartment complexes) to move into if you are a nudist. They are simply not built for privacy; but rather for low cost and practicality. I'm still biting my fingers for my choice of living accomodation.
Nothing beats a semi-rural home. I know of some people who are so far entrenched that they are actually able to walk to their mailbox or do their yardwork nude. One family was even able to let their kids bike and roam around their property nude.
If you don't want to move to a resort but still be able to freely be nude outside and around your home, rural living is probably the best thing.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, I must say. Sleeping under the stars brought back memories of this past summer: My first real experience of any length being nude in the great outdoors. I too clean house, change oil, and wash clothes in the nude, just as you do. Nudity just seems to heighten my senses. <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Originally posted by OZJames:

We're nude at home all the time.. in fact, being as we have a bit of property, we got tired of having to dress around non-nudist friends that didn't care if we are nude. I've found the 'just ask' policy works great.. Just ask folks you feel comfortable enough with if they mind if you're nude or not. I've found most do not mind since its my property.

I enjoy doing as much as I can nude, but my yard is pretty much exposed. So if I went outside, I would be too. But inside, I strip down when I get home. When I feel like getting out, I typically wait until I get some bills that need to be mailed. After dark, I drive to the post office and sometimes to the drive-up ATM in the nude. I live in a smaller town, so there aren't that many people out and about. I can get in and out of my car inside the garage without being seen. It's just a way I can be nude outside of the house when I feel the need.

cme600: what small town in kansas are you from? i grew up in a small kansas town, northwest corner of the state.

sometimes i'm clothed at home, sometimes i'm nude. but, there are certain things i definitely prefer to do nude: washing dishes, shaving, eating, anything that has the potential to get me dirty or wet. i like cooking nude, but i have been splattered by hot water in some unpleasant places. it's still worth it though, as i don't have to worry about sauce splattering on my shirt.

Yes I use a wheelchair and I'm not ashame of since there nothing I can do about it. Also not ashame of my body as well and it is a lot easier to be nude since I don't have to stand and hold on to a grab bar with one hand and try to pull down my paint with the other. Plus I'm not get all warm just using the restroom. When I do go to a resort it wondeful not have to get my paints on.

I do most things nude around the house and outdoors in the back and side yards. We are still working on the landscaping in front to get the trees and bushes to fill out enough to allow privacy. Some had storm damage and had to be replaced. I do some of the work my wife used to do inside and out due to her health, so it puts a little extra burden on me as far as getting to do my stuff, but I tell her "as long as I can do it naked, it's ok"!

My wife and I spent the weekend at a CO resort. On Saturday night a couple invited us and several others to breakfast on Sunday. We had a room in the lodge and this was in a cool climate. I didn't know what to expect. We put on bathrobes and I warmed up the car and we drove the two minutes to their condo. They were nude when we got there. It worked out fine for us, we took off our robes and could sit on them. Several people showed up. Most walked and were all dressed and had coats. Some got undressed; some didn't. It was more than breakfast; it was a gathering. You can entertain in the nude. I think some people stayed clothed because they didn't bring a towel. Arne
