How many plan to be Redneck enough (even if only for a couple of hours) to go to the theater and see Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector when it opens this Friday (March, 24, 2006)?

A coupla hours of sophmoric humor won't hurt anyone. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/wink3.gif

Who knows with the quality of films nominated for Best Picture this past year it has a better than even shot of getting the nod itself. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/laugh.gif

I like Mel Brooks too. But, how about a Peter Sellers Pink Panther movie??? Now, THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT!!

Just may do that, nacktman. Saw Larry the Cable Guy on Leno's Tonight Show recently and, IMO, he's funny http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/laugh.gif

With all of the gloom & doom, hate & discontent, paranoia, etc., etc., etc., that seems to be prevalent these days, I'm ready for a couple of hours of sophomoric, redneck humor. Time to GIT-R-DONE!

Redneck my ***.

"Larry" is from Nebraska, not the south. He's from a well-to-do family and went to private school. Being fat and sloppy is the result of personal choices and not a class statement.

Same for Jeff Foxworthy. Dad is an IBM executive (not a programmer, not a truck driver). Jeff also grew up well-to-do and went to college and became a frat drunk. Never owned hounds or had a porch to collapse on them.

When these guys were in high school, they owned cars that cost more than my college tuition.

It's all an act and a damned snarky one at that.

Yeah, but they were Trans-Ams with rebel flags on them!

Mel and Peter are great comedians and the have done their share of sophomoric humor as well ... Blazing Saddles and The Pink Panther, now come on.

Lighten up Curmudgeon, rednecks sprout up anywhere, they're like weeds.
And who said it wasn't an act?

Mark not all of us Southern Boys had the battle flag painted on the car, but you are right the rednecks did....

Think they were actually BMWs with those fake European license plates "Larry" had to wear a suit to his private high school. If they'd been driving Trans-Ams, the real rednecks might have kicked their asses.
