It depends. If you mean, tomorrow simply go to class naked while everyone else is dressed, no I wouldn't do that, even tho' it'd feel good and everything.
If you're talking about a clothes-optional school where it's your choice, and you aren't going to get carted away in handcuffs for not wearing pants, then yeah, why not? I see no problem with it. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/cool4.gif

Oh man, yes. I really wish that school was either no clothes allowed or clothes optional, but preferably no clothes allowed! It would make puberty easier and school more fun!
First of all it would teach kids that nobody looks like a porn star or supermodel and that underneath our bodies are real people. Plus no one could ever make fun of people for not wearing fashionable clothing!
And near the end of the day everyday at school I just feel the urge to take it all off. I'd feel more comfortable if I could be nude all day.

Lou; Your question is good. I graduated from Jr. College in 97 and wished many times I could have attended without restricting clothes.
Something of this nature would have to start at the University/College level to ever be accepted. And even then only in the theater/arts fields. A SLIM chance of acceptance in the medical field. (Only because "Your going to see it all anyway")
It would do a good thing for body acceptance. Cultural enlightenment is how we learn about others lifestyles.

Anyway it would be nice to be able to be naked in school. No cloths allowed because it would attract a lot of pervs if it would be optional (like lee said.)

At first I thought it would be way cool but not sure. Things happen at school all the time that might be embarrasing and dont know why but probably id try it but think id rather it be optional.

What if AANR, TNS, and/or CFI created a private nudist university? You don't have to go to it, but if you do go, you can't wear clothes.

when streaking was the rage at most universities way back in the 70's security told ok just one more day and you all get arrested. The next day about 80 of us met and got naked in the basement of a dorm. We all went to class, the libary, everywhere naked. We were surrounded by clothed people. It was exciting at first but then you forgot you were nude. This never happened again.

I used to dream that I was Flying to school like superman, except I was nude.
It would have been wonderfull to have attended a nudist school. But to be the only one showing up nude in a textile school wouldn't be the kind of excitement a young man would want.
Steve
Speaking of dreaming, I recall a dream where I was sitting at my desk in a classroom full of students.
I was the only one nude.
Strangely (or perhaps not), no one else seemed to notice or care.
So, it would seem that my answer to the topic question is "yes".

After lunch, when we all only had 2 classes left and we were all in both of them, we would strip down, leave our clothes in our cars, and attend the last two classes with just the robes on. This happened both junior and senior year. A few of our friends of course found out, and on the last pajama day senior year we had a total of 30 people participate. The school never suspected anything, as we were all careful and only did it for the last two hours of class. If I had my choice, school would be nude, but clothing optional should be a choice for girls since they do have some issues guys don't during puberty.
LMAO! That is hilarious. I'd do that, but I'd be a little worried if I got a spontaneous erection and it poked out of the robe.
It would be kick-asspririn if school were clothes-free/optional. But that would never be the case, at least probably not. But if there could be one class that would be clothes-free, it would be gym. And down in the middle school, I'd have loved it if we could have done swimming class in the nude as well.

I was talking to a guy and he was saying that he went to a school in England away back in the 60s that was experimental allowed the kids to basically do what they and wear what they wanted. Some of them went naked to classes and nothing was said. I knew it was true, beause when I was growing i remember reading about the school in the newspapers. The school was free, not structured and it was up to the kids whether they wanted to learn or not.
I asked the guy if he learned anything and he said not a lot. He did have fond memories of it. I can't remember the school name but it was during the swinging 60s

What about that guy Andrew Martinez AKA the naked guy? A while back out in Berkeley he ran around the whole campus naked, even attending classes nude. They could not or would not prosecute because they did not have a no nudity laws on the books so you never know unless you have done your research.
I have always gotten bored in school and could not wait until I was out on my own to do whatever the Hell I wanted to do! I remember enjoying springtime because of the casting off of so many winter garments. I guess I would have liked to have attended one or two of my dendrology labs sans clothing. Oh to be young again!

I figured Andrew Martinez would come up on this thread, eventually. When I first heard about the Berkeley "naked guy" years ago, I thought Wow! How bold to just cast aside your clothes and go naked in public, and for your school/university/wherever to accept it. Then I learned that there was no ordinance against public nudity in the city of Berkeley, and that a number of people went nude in public. What a COOL place to live! http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/stickdance.gif Then some people went too far and ruined it all, causing the city to enact an ordinance stopping it. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/disappointed.gif

I had the opportunity to go up there to Berkeley before the ordinance went into effect but mundande things liek work kept me from going. I do think it was an over reaction not just to Andrew but the Berklely Players and there live nude performance theater.

I never had the opportunity to go anywhere near Berkeley. That was some years ago, but I was somewhat daring in those days, new to but excited about nudism. I think if I had been there I would have joined in. When I did get the chance to visit my first nudist beach, as soon as I saw others were nude, it didn't take me long to get bare-assed naked too! The second day was bolder, and the next trip, I was the only one naked on the beach, to the interest and sometimes amazement of the other ten to fifteen people there. Lots of approving, and no negative, comments from others. It was one of the most exhilarating experiences I've had, and definitely helped hook me on it, along with the totally incredible comfort factor!

If all kids were REQUIRED to ALL attend school completely nude the world would be a happier, less stressful place indeed. Kids would have no (or less) body image problems, no shame associated with not wearing the "right" (designer) clothing. Less teasing and I believe kids would all get along better and accept each other much more across the board. The normal psychological barriers would be broken down because they would all be at the same level so to speak.. all -- students, boys and girls and teachers, all in the same state of undress.
I'm always impressed with the kids who are nude at c/o resorts with their families and how much more mature, accepting of others, confident and outgoing they seem to be compared to teens in the general population.
Sorry to stereotype but this more positive mentality (both boys and girls) is always quite obvious to me. I'd also give a thumbs-up to the parents in c/o families(!!)

There are already t-shirts and other clothes featuring "Naked U." and surprisingly the education branch of the American Association for Nude Recreation (eg. AANR) has annual nudist youth leadership training once (I thought) referred to as "Naked U.". See the following stories:
http://www.lakeedun.com/bfmay04.htm
http://www.nudist-resorts.org/talk/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=756&whichpage=2
So I guess the thing about attending school naked is someone has to do it first but not make a big deal out of it at the same time. There would need to be a reason for nudity supporting the educational process rather than undermining it or causing more distractions and disruptions then what it contributes.
What if a school established at a nudist resort, or at that city-sized resort in France, suddenly voted to allow students to wear clothing. Would the level of distraction caused by clothed students be the same? I think so.
The easiet way to avoid disruptions to ANY process is to make it so demanding that students do not have time to give any attention to the distraction. And this is probably true regardless of whether we are thinking about nudity, drugs, gangs, alcohol or any unsupervised / unstructured activities.
In American armed forces "basic training" the recruits are kept so busy, sometimes with completely non-thinking tasks, that they do not have time to do anything except what they are told. This is critical to the shaping of young soldiers, some of whom have never been away from home before, and all of whom are in "the prime" of their sexual development. Even in that most regimented environment there have been stories of male recruits sneaking off to steal 5 minutes of time from female recruits, so the ease with which young people can become distracted is clearly documented.
Free time is "play time" to most people, not time to invest in yourself and grow as a person, and that is a shame. When does "nudist boot camp" start?

That would have been great! I was stuck in a bible belt town, so there is no way that would ever happen. I did get naked at college once though...that was a lot of fun! One day just to see what would happen I removed my clothes and walked down the hallway of my dorm. It was late at night and no one was around so I was free to do whatever. I also stripped and walked down the hallway in the last university I attended. This time it wasn't too late at night, and a few guys saw me, and laughed. One girl saw me, and ran to her boyfriends room. He asked me about it, and I said "Hey she shouldn't be up here past 12:00 a.m.. He backed off in embarrasment..lol

Here are a couple of quotes from science fiction author John Varley.
First is from the story Blue Champagne. Megan is showing her childhood home movies:
He observed that she and her crowd were naked a lot more than he and his friends had been. The students at his school had undressed at the beach, to participate in athletics, and to celebrate special days like Vernal Equinox and The Last Day of School. Megan's friends did not seem to dress at all. Most of them were Caucasian, but all were brown as coffee beans.
"It's true," she said. "I never wore anything but a pair of track shoes."
"Even to school?"
"They didn't believe in dictating things like that to us."
Second quote is the very beginning of the story Options. Unlike the tedious stuff that passes for mainstream fiction nowadays, in science fiction the author needs to establish that his characters are in a place that's different. In this case, the characters live on the Moon. But note how well he introduces the characters, shows how they're like us, and shows how things are different:
Cleo hated breakfast.
Her enery level was lowest in the morning, but not so the children' s. There was always some school crisis, something that had to be located at the last minute, some argument that had to be settled.
This morning it was a bowl of ceral spilled in Lilli's lap. Cleo hadn't seen it happen; her attention had been diverted momentarily by Feather, her youngest.
And of course it had to happen after Lilli was dressed.
"Mom, this was the last outfit I had."
"Well, if you wouldn't use them so hard they might last more than three days, and if you didn't ..." She stopped before she lost her temper. "Just take it off and go as you are.".
"But Mom, nobody goes to school naked. Nobody. Give me some money and I'll stop at the store on--"
Cleo raised her voice, something she tried never to do. "Child, I know there are kids in your class whose parents can't afford to buy clothes at all."
"All right, so the poor kids don't--"
"That's enough. You're late already. Get going."
Both these stories are in the collection Blue Champagne. But anything by Varley can be relied upon to be excellent. His characters tend to take nudity very naturally, too.

Well, it would matter, as going to school naked you would think to be a great idea but kids going through puberty are less likely to agree as especially in this time for boys of my age, as of erection problems and iam sure girls won't perticularly like it either with there changing bodies. So yes it would be a great idea but over all i doubt it to be a great success. If it did happen though i would prefer it to be non-optional and that everyone had to go in naked. This would make it easier for everyone as it would be akward if one person in the year was naked and everyone is more likely to wear clothes and there'd be no difference. A plus side to going to school naked is that children will most likely come to gether more and trust each other more and have more confidence.

It depends on how you look at it. Well, if you come from a "textile" background, or *not*. Well, I tend to dis-agree with that. I am all in favour of doing that. And, If you are like "me", coming from a ( Nudist ) background. I don't see any objection with this. And, If you are coming from my background, you will see several points to this. First of all, we don't practice our way of life, as if it were something, SEXUAL. No, We do it because, it's the enjoyment and the forfillment, of our way of life. Secound of all, We practice our way of life, to have the enjoyment and the forfillment of being without any encombersome "textile" clothing, That, is binding and has no freedom of movement with our bodies. Third of all, If you grow up in naturism. We, have not a problem with the opposite sex. I can further my *dis-agreement* reasons for you. But, I think from just this, you will be getting the picture of our way of life, and, lifestyle. And, growing up with the "naturist" way of life. And, If you are like "me", growing up with this way of life from (Birth), you would not have any problem at all with this.
