I am the sort of person who doesn't tend to sit still for long. Yet, at the few clubs/resorts I've been to, sitting still seems the most popular activity. (Perhaps age has something to do with this... me being in my 20s, and most attendees having close to double my age.) Can anyone recommend a place with a chance for some good physical activities?

Things that would be nice:
Olympic swimming pool (I want to swim laps, not lounge around! Also, a diving board is great fun.)
Running track (or just a good sidewalk path or something in a good sized loop)
A big open field.
.. And the most difficult to find in my experience - people who regularly partake in games / activities that require running around and otherwise using energy.

If anyone knows of a good place that has any of these items, I would love to hear about it!

Hey Jeffree, I am about three times your age but agree with you 100%. I prefer to stay active instead of laying around the pool.

When I visted Paradise Lakes about 4 years ago I found myself bored, not that they did not have things to do, but because I was alone and no one to share the activities with. They had bikes for their guests to use which I utilized almost daily, a miniature golf course, shuffleboard & volleyball courts as well as three swimming pools one which was strictly for water volleyball. I walked throughout the resort which was good exercise. You could jog it if you were so inclined.

I would recommend Pardaise Lakes.

Most clubs offer activiities -- Cypress Cove in Florida has an active tennis group, and it has an outdoor Olympic size pool ... and a gym ... and a lot of parks have those amenities.

What is one of the largest nudist events in the country ? The Volleyball Super Bowl at White Thorn Lodge. It's "almost" in the mid-west - literally - literally on the Penn-Ohio state line.

Turtle Lake Resort in Union City in southern Michigan does not have an Olympic size swimming pool, but hardly any resort has a swimming pool that large. Turtle Lake Resort has an indoor pool where, when not being used by many others, I can lap-swim back and forth the length of the smaller pool, but it means a great deal of turning because of the smaller size of the pool. However, Turtle Lake Resort has an outdoor lake (with large beach). This would give more room for lap swimming if you don't mind lap swimming in a lake.

There is plenty of room at Turtle Lake Resort, including a large field and roads to run on or bicycle on.

On usual week-days you may not find anyone to join you in vollyball, but on week-ends there is a crowd. Especially, the up-coming Labor Day Week-end there will be a "multitude" of pesons and persons to play vollyball.

My husband says I need a tranquilizer to get to a type A personality. I cannot sit still for long either. That's one of the reasons I started my nonlanded club. I like to be doing things rather than just sitting around a pool.

There may be a nonlanded club in your area.
