Went to catch some sun in what I thought was a secluded enough spot during the week. Had sunned my self and was getting up to get into a different position and some one was driving up...me being a panicked person and not wanting to offend dressed hurriedly. The guy apologized for disturbing me...I wasn't bothered just kind of startled. oh well.

http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif At least it wasn't a whole girl scout troup like the one that found me during a nature hike. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/blush.gif

I think we have all been in a similar situation. I have been "caught" on the beach several times and usually it is by people who are following footsteps in the sand. Anyone who really counts (rangers, etc) never walks up -- just the curious. I have seen situations where people who "caught" me one weekend were in my spot the next weekend. Usually it just means you meet more nudists in your area. BB

I almost was/was seen by a Girl Scout group. I presume they were Girl Scouts. There were 12 of them around the same age. They came down a trail on the back side of the river. They may have seen me through the trees, but I didn't see them until they emerged from the trees about 75 yards downstream. I quickly put on some shorts. This was fortunate, as they then came upstream and explored the river in my area. I ended up leaving because they were so disruptive. I gave the leader a dirty look as I picked up my things and left.

I don't get dressed for the Boy Scouts, I just roll over on my stomach and let them decide to leave.

So funny, Ketchum. It proves you should always have money handy. For Girl Scout Cookies.

As big as this nation is one would think there would be some place you could go privately to enjoy some sun and not be bothered.

I was traveling in Baxter State Park (Maine) and was in a totally wild and wooly non roaded area when I chanced upon a small pond. This pond had several moose in it feeding on the bottom plants. So I stopped to make camp for the night.

Lo and behold there was a nude person on a make shift raft anchored in the middle of the pond!

One would think that way out in that wilderness there would be no one to disturb him, but here I came! YooHooooo!

Once while at cars pond here in the mini state. The squirl chasers [dem. cops] came and harassed a few of us and for no real reason. Only that we were naked.

I was "surprised" by a couple, (clothed), while I was hiking nude, well out of town on a trail off a closed logging road. I was carrying shorts in a backpack, thinking I could slip them on if I heard somebody approaching, but coming around a turn in the trail... well, there you are. Nothing to do but carry on as if it was the most natural thing in the world. I just said "hello" and was surprised to just get a "hello" back. The young lady made a comment about the heat and "keeping cool", and that was that. I guess you can never assume you are alone.

And I have been "caught" loads of times out in my boat. Never a negative experience on the water, and I no longer even bother trying to cover up. Incidentally, I would be interested in hearing from any other nudist boaters, in a PM or otherwise, regarding their experiences on the water, experiences with other boaters, etc.
