LAND O’LAKES, Fla. – Feb. 25, 2006– Joe and Becky Lettelleir, owners of the Paradise Lakes Resort near Tampa and the Paradise Valley Resort near Atlanta are part of an investment group that has purchased a 30-acre resort nestled in the Tucson (Arizona) Mountains overlooking the Sonoran Desert, just 20 minutes from Tucson Airport.
The property, which offers upscale accommodations, fine dining, and a complete spa and fitness center, has been rechristened the MiraVista Resort and will open as a clothing-optional facility effective May 1. The Lettelleirs are part of an investment group of experienced nudist club operators that includes the owners of two California nudist resorts: Laguna del Sol (near Sacramento) and DeAnza Springs, (near San Diego).
The new owners are putting together an “Ultimate Membership” package that will include access to all five clubs in Arizona, California, Georgia, and Florida.“We’re pleased to take this beautiful facility and introduce the Tucson area to the clothing-optional lifestyle,” says Lettelleir, who first got involved in nudist club ownership with the purchase of Paradise Lakes in 1999.
MiraVista was a stagecoach stop on the Butterfield Stage Line in 1850 and later became a favorite guesthouse for stars such as John Wayne, Spencer Tracy, Katharine Hepburn, and Jimmy Stewart while they were filming Westerns in the Tucson. In later incarnations the property was a dude ranch and, most recently, the Coyote Moon Resort.
The MiraVista Resort features 16 luxurious rooms, a bar/restaurant, spa, a 4,000 square foot outdoor pavilion, a fully-equipped fitness center, and lush, well-manicured grounds.
“This property has always been a relaxing, therapeutic kind of place and the clothing-optional designation meshes with that perfectly,” says Lettelleir, who eventually plans to add condominiums to the property. “We’re inheriting a premier, upscale attraction and have every intention of making it even better.”
