Does anyone know if there is access to the beach year round. I've never been there and wanted to check it out. Is it only open in the summer???

According to the website (http://gocalifornia.about.com/cs/clothingoptional/p/scredwhiteblue.htm), Red, White, and Blue Beach is closed from November 1 to February 1.

Furthermore, it is very cold and the surf is up and to be very blunt it is very nasty. However, it starts to become acceptable in the later part of March.

There are plenty of other nearby beaches that have year round access. Bonny Doon, Panther are real close to RWB. The weather should be great, if you're a polar bear.

I had read someplace that the owners of RW&B beach (or I should say, owners of the access road and concession) had decided to give it up.

Anybody have a definitive word on that? That was the site of our first naturist outing! http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I know that the new owners of Lupin were once considering taking over Red White and Blue, but I'm not sure where that stands now. That would be a nice complement to the revitalized Lupin.
