Okay, there's a barefoot society where people go, as the name implies, barefoot, but they where clothes. Naturism is usually completely naked but wearing shoes and socks, exposing your genitalia but no feet. How can they call it freedom when you where shoes on your feet? Why can't s be both naked and barefoot?

Some people do. There are sometimes when its better to wear shoes when crossing certain terrain. Like many things its a personal choice.

Yup. Some things just aren't all that logical. I feel more naked when I am not wearing shoes, but will give up a little of that feeling in order to protect my soft feet.

I have noticed that more men are wearing flip flops and sandals these days.

In that case nunne maybe you should consider wearing a hat too. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif j/k (been looking for an excuse to use the "j/k" ever since Mark told me what it meant.

When nude outdoors, I usually wear flip-flops and a hat. Maybe I'm not completely nude but one of the purposes of clothing is protection from the elements. I'm as dressed as I need to be.

most resorts i go to have gravel roadways or even pavement that get very hot during the day. neither feel good on bare feet. i usually wear sandles when walking on such surfaces but keep them off when walking on the grassy areas or the pool.

I would like to go nude all the way but my feet aren't tough enough so I were sandals. Barefoot in the grass whenever possible.

Yeah but sometimes naked people wear socks at home on carpet when everyone else is naked and barefoot. And the Freedom movie, A Discotheque in a Cellar has a girl butt-naked but she is wearing sandals, and underneath it, socks. Why socks if you're wearing sandals?

At home, I am mostly barefoot, but when I go outside I wear something on my feet. For protection, you never know what's out there.

Good question here. Going without your middle covered as required by law in most places and taught to be "obscene" or "unseeable" by many is what I generally think of as "going naked." When I was a child I often didn't wear shoes all summer, but I was clothed, always wore some form of pants and usually a shirt. I still often drop the shoes while driving or when the ground is suitable, whether or not I'm naked.
I've spent time hiking barefood in mountains and on trails, going barefood at many beaches and recreation areas where clothing is required. I've been asked to leave restaurants because I didn't have shoes on even while the rest of me was fully dressed. I don't associate bare feet with "getting naked" becuase the requirements for covering your feet come from a different place and have different requirements than coveing your middle.
When I'm naked, I often go barefood in the same sort of places I would go barefoot if I was dressed. If its a nice, foot friendly place, I go barefoot. Whether or not I can also go naked there is a different question.

Living in Az where the summer temperatures generally are in the 112 and up range, shoes are a must-even on the "cool deck" around pools.

Barefoot is best, but you have to be sensible about it. As justnude said, when the temps get over 100, walking barefoot over asphalt is really unsafe.
I don't feel naked unless I'm barefoot, but I do know there are a few times when I must wear at least flip flops.
