Real or Hoax photos: 4 tests

In all four tests, I got a 6/10.

They give the answers and explanations.

On test 1, I was able to get 8 out of 10. #1 with the bear looked a bit too big to me. In photo #4, I though Daschle is just goofy enough to not know where his heart is! http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/eusa_dance.gif

On the rest of the tests, I scored 9 out of 10.

I got 8 out of 10 correct 'officially', but I maintain I got 10 out of 10 correct.

The bear photo, although unaltered, uses forced perspective to make a very large bear appear even larger.

The aircraft photo is genuine, but the caption is a hoax. The vapor effect shown has absolutely nothing to do with the breaking the sound barrier.

I marked both photos as hoaxes because they were deliberately misleading even though the photos themselves were not electronically manipulated.

As a side note - it is not possible to tell if photos of such low resolution as those shown in the "test" are manipulated or not if the manipulator has even rudimentary skills - except by educated guess. This test doesn't reveal any real skill at detecting hoaxes except a well developed sense of skepticism.

My experience was the opposite. I aced the first one but my score went downhill from there.
