Look at Palm Springs right next door.

Desert Shadows is considered one of the premier nudist destinations in the US. There are also probably around a half dozen other smaller bed and breakfast type places like Terra Cotta Inn that are also available. If you have a 4WD or RV and a sense of adventure you can head out into the desert and find your own nude destination. Note, a good travel guide and some knowledge of how to get yourself out of tight places is a must, that and lots of water. Two very good examples of this are the hotsprings known as Deep Creek near Hesperia and another up near Death valley can't remember the name right now. Anyway lot's of places, just got to use your imagination and the resources available here on this site and on the web in general.

I'm not sure what might specifically be located in Palm Desert and Indio, but there are bunch of places in Palm Springs and the general area around it.

Try a search using phrases like "Palm Desert clothing optional resort" or "Indio nude resort."

There are lots of options, so you should find something you like. I saw one estimate that there are 80+ places in the general area, and I see no reason to doubt it.

We enjoy soaking in hot mineral water, so our favorite place is Living Waters Spa in Desert Hot Springs. Others prefer something different, so everyone has their favorite.

What type of place are you looking for? As NudeAl stated, Desert Shadows is a beautiful place. We visit there quite often and are considering purchasing a condo there.

We have also been to Terra Cotta Inn many, many times. The place is quite a bit smaller than Desert Shadows but what it lacks in size it makes up for in personality and friendliness.

We've also visited Morningside Inn. Very nice and just a bit smaller than TCI. Again, nice people, owners and nice, but small complex.

There are several others, we have yet to visit. Living Waters Inn and Spa, Turtleback Mesa B & B, Desert Fountain Inn just to name a few.

Palm Springs and Palm Desert are very close to each other and these places are only minutes away from each other.

If you have any specific questions regarding those places we've been to, let me know, we'd be more than happy to answer them for you. http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
