hw, did your mushroom avatar always change color?

I thought it was always tan, then I saw something green out of the corner of my eye. I have pretty bad eyesight anyway, but seeing something change COLOR like that scared the zark out of me /infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

Hey Prom, Can I call you Prom? Anyway the color changing mushroom was Keithmj's idea. But I like it! /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif The cat Avatar wasn't really working very well with out my buddy Gamblefish swimming around the forums. /infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I picked the mushroom Avatar because I felt it captured more of the real me; kept in the dark and fed bullsh*t. /infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif Maybe I need more "Sun-time" so I don't glow in the dark. /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Plus I just love mushrooms! Yummy! /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Your eyes are fine, but what in the world is Zark? /infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

"zark" is a fake word from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It seems to be derived from the name of the prophet Zarquon, as in "By Zarquon!" /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

It makes a very convenient replacement for whatever swear word you don't want to type out loud. Although people might look at you funny if you say something like "Oh, zark!" (say it out loud and think of Missouri) /infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

I also think "Pro" sounds better than "Prom" but that's just me.

Hi hw..I just wanted to tell you that your voices are taking over everybody /infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif As you know I drive a bus for a living, well on the bus tonight I had a guy that was talking to himself and using different voices /infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif He even slapped his self a couple of times. I guess it was a domestic fight or something, it sounded just like a man and a woman fighting. Darn those voices..Do you slap yourself? /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif or does NudeM take care of that? Just Kidding, Just Kidding. We will have to do something about the voices.... Bye..Keithmj

The Ozarks are a natural wonderland. It is a huge area mostly of plateaus, hills and gorges, but there are some mountains in Missouri, the St. Francois between St. Louis and Poplar Bluff and the Boston Mountains of Arkansas are part of the Ozark Highlands too.

The two most distinctive things about this area for me are the incredible clarity of most of the streams and rivers there and the low population. There aren't many job centers except for the booming Branson MO area, Bentonville AR (home of Walmart) and to a lesser extent Poplar Bluff, but if you can find work or you can get into some kind of forestry, ranching or farming, land is cheap and a nudist could ramble nude over many acres of his own land. There are vast national forests too. A lot of "back to the land" people have moved there, but the land is vast and the area is still far more sparsely settled than land on either coast of the USA.

Streams can flow for miles before becoming soiled, and the land doesn't grow much more than cedar trees and scrub oak with enough efficiency to feed a large population.

Yes, true, MissouriBoy,

I hope I haven't started a stampede to the Ozarks. Most of them would have to pack up and move somewhere else for the reasons you gave.

For a lucky few, the bottomland by the creeks has good soil. My Missouri friends have more than 50 acres of beautiful rolling pastures and woods, two ponds and a lake, a horse, barn, chicken house, a grove of walnut trees and a tiny garden patch. It would be a nudist paradise, but the land cannot support millions.

I will probably stay in Georgia; it's pretty nice here, but there's something special about the Ozarks. It did my soul good to go skinnydipping in a river there, meet the local folks and explore the land.

Wow! Everyone going Off Topic and staying Off Topic....Yeah! /infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
Trailscout, you seem to have traveled everywhere and know all the good places to hang out. Have you visited the beaches of CA? I find the small, less crowded beaches are the best places to go. But Missouri sure sounds tempting. /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Thanks nekkid4ever for the song. Some days I can't remember "Zark". /infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Hey HW,

I have been to California one week in April a few years back.

I started in San Diego and went to the beach in La Jolla. It was a nice day. There was a long series of steps that led down from the cliffs to the beach. I met a really cute lady. She was walking her dog and it halted in its tracks and cautiously woofed at me. I just leaned down and gently asked the dog, "What's the matter? Haven't you met anyone from Georgia before? Naturally the dog's owner asked, "Gee, you're from Georgia?". And she and I started a nice conversation. Too bad I had to leave the next day; I liked her and she was really good-looking! She might have been surfing or maybe jogging because she was wearing some black ultra-thin skintight garment that covered her from the neck to the ankles.

If I had known about Black's Beach I might have visited it. The bus passed by Torrey Pines Park which is close to Blacks.

I had some business in Los Angeles then I caught a plane to San Francisco.
I stayed the night in a Youth Hostel in southern Marin County, near Rodeo Beach. San Diego was warm and sunny, but here it was chilly and stormy. The ocean was wild and rough here. The cliffs were made of sterner stuff than the La Jolla beach cliffs. This area was a grassland interspersed with the brilliant flowers of the iceplant. I worked my way down the cliff to see the tide pools. It was really neat. I had not seen a rocky shore in many years. Unfortunately, the rising tide blocked off the path I took and the rising water kept moving closer to me. As I surveyed the nearly sheer cliffs, there seemed to be no way back to the youth hostel. Finally I found a way that offered a few footholds. I carefully scaled the cliff and breathed a sigh of relief. I walked along the clifftops heading south to a promontory. Suddenly I could see all of the San Francisco Bay to my south. Huge ships were coming in and out under the Golden Gate Bridge. In the distance I could hear the clang of buoy bells guiding boats through the fog-shrouded waters. I wasn't far from nudist venues here either, but I simply didn't know it.

Wow Trailscout, glad you didn't fall off the cliffs. Corey told me Balck's Beach is very difficult to get to. I know Pirate's Cove is quite a trek. I wish some of the easier to get to beaches were c/o. We have so many beautiful beaches here, but many are trashed by unthoughtful people. /infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

Well, someday when I win the lottery /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif I'll find a private beach to buy and invite everyone to the grand opening. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
