I hadnt thopught about it been an addiction, I first went completely smooth many years ago when still married, but then let it all grow back agai as my ex (non naturist) wasnt keen on it), though on occasions did just shave the pubic area as she did funnily enough. Once seperated and subsequently divorced I went back to the smooth look and have remained that way ever since. I just enjoy been smooth so I suppose it could be deemed an addiction.

I'm the same way. For the last couple years I've been shaving my private area. Recently and decided to try shaving my chest and legs too. I love it! I've never been a big fan of body hair and now Im finally living without it. Don't think I'll ever go back.

I enjoy the shaved look, because over all it's easier to keep and also looks better.
Always happy to be naked when I am home.

I have tried being smooth and I loved the feeling, but my wife hated it. I think in her mind it was something related to homosexuality and to keep the peace I let it grow back. I tried to convince her to let me continue a bit but to no avail.

Smooth is the only way to go! I shave my entire body. It is the best clean feeling you'll ever get. No Razor burns,no stubble, no ithiness. have been smooth head to toe for almost 6 years now. the best is when, just after shaving, stepping out of the shower into an open door so the breeze can air dry you! Ok, so it seems everybody (here at least) really likes being smooth. I, too, wouldn't mind (would probably love) at least a smooth chest although I can't imagine I would ever shave it. Question is - From a social nudity perspective, what are rhe downsides to NOT being smooth? Do some have an aversion to individuals with "normal" or "average" (not heavy) body hair?
http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gifI have been a smoothie for about ten years. The feeling of being smooth when hikeing and exercisineg is completely exonerating.

I've been shaving (tweezing, actually) my pubic area for probably 10-12 years, off and on.
I shave my head, too. I've been doing that consistently for over eight years.
I don't shave anything else. I have very little leg and chest hair, so I leave that alone.
I do trim my armpit hair because I don't like the way it clumps together when using deodorant.

It is addictive. I finally got the courage to go for it a few months ago. I absolutely love the feeling. Fortunately for me, the wife is okay with the look.
I've gone "nose to toes," but right now keep a small pubic patch.
Although, I suspect that might be going away soon.

I keep a little pubic hair (trimmed very short) and shave my chest, under arms and legs.
Since I perspire a lot, being smooth allows me to apply under arm deodorant directly to my skin. I always feel dry and don't have to worry about body odor. In general, being smooth makes me feel fresh and clean.
That's my perspective of the positives of being smooth.

I shave everything off except the hair on my head and on my forearms. I don't have to shave my chest or back because there isn't anything to shave.
It just feels better this way and that is all the reason that anyone should need.

I've always wanted to go smooth, but have never had the guts to get close to my genitals with anything sharp. Too bad there aren't any barber shops that will do genitals. It might be a good business to go into (I would pay for a weekly shaving, and I'm sure others would too).

Once a week wouldn't be close to often enough to shave. Once per day is more like it.

Been clean shaven from lip down for years. Pubic, underarm, and legs; not very hairy to begin with. No hair on chest or back. Enhances feeling of nudity and easier to stay clean on hot summer days. Sometimes I get a few second glances in the locker room but I am not in the least bit reticent about my appearance.

I've been smooth for about a year now. It started because i wear alot of thongs and pubic hair just looks horrible sticking out the sides..
So one day i shaved them off and it felt great, i've been keeping my pubic area and balls shaven all the time since. As an added side effect, i think it also creates the illusion of a larger penis lol.
I never really was a fan of body hair anyway though.

Hey Kyle,
I totally agree with you. I've been smooth almost 10 years now and I wouldn't want it any other way. It's not only a nice look but more importantly how much better it feels. The side benefit I've noticed is less body odor from being trapped in the hair.

Yep its an addiction alright... I body shave in the morning... everything but the eyebrows. And then at the end of the day, if I feel nubs, I shave again.
When my wife went smooth pubic area for me, she asked me if I would go smooth for her. That gave me a green light and have been smooth since. I love the no hair feeling. This is NOT a gay thing, its a feeling totally clean thing and just plain what is wrong with a guy feeling sexing and confident about his body feeling.
Since going totally smooth, I haven't had a lick of body oder either.

i go off and on with shaving my pubes. I usually get tired of having too much pubic hair, then i would trim it, and im like "what the hell" and shave it all off. Then i would let it grow back, and it would start over. basically a cycle. Im decently hairy, and i wonder if shaved pubes really looks good with everything else being hairy. Too much work to shave everything, so i havent done the chest or stomach.

I'm a smoothie in the summer. A trimmer in the winter months. Right now i'm shaved around my nipples, base of my penis, scrotum and the crack of my butt. This summer I'll shave all of my chest, abdomen, pubic area and all down and around up to my tailbone.
I started shaving the tailbone area after having surgery for a cyst and being told by the Dr. that I could keep the area shaved or risk a re-occurance of the cyst. One thing led to another. I like being shaved in summer as it makes it much easier to wipe sweat off my body and to feel any breeze blowing over my skin. :D

We do a lot of boating and swimming in the summer and have found that keeping pubic hair to a minimum helps prevent rashes from forming. Hair seems to retain moisture, so eliminating the hair seems to take care of the problem. I do like the smooth look, also.
Even chest hair can get too long and is trimmed. I buzz my head once a week and trim the arm pits at the same time. As others have said, trimmed pits really make the gel deodorant much more pleasant to apply, as well as feel afterwards.
I have tried tweezering, but it is a lot of work and time consuming. Has anyone tried it?

Smoothy is healthy? Smoothy can save your life!
I have just walked on moorland and have picked up ticks. Ticks love a hairy scrotum to hide in at least I can see the critters. If I miss them I can develop a fatal disease :-( I have a research hypothesis; a study on the attachment rates of ticks in the hirsute and depilated scrotum. Please note that any reference to the male gender is also applicable to the female with minor variations.
:-)
Smoothy and ,following extensive examination of hairless scrotum, also likely to survive the next 24 hours since am tick free.

The smoothie look is definitely a matter of personal preference. From my experoience at the club and beaches, it would appear that most nudists at least do a good trim job of the pubic areas. Personally, I have a hairy chest (and love it) but do keep the pubes well trimed and the "rest" down there clean! It is intersting, as many of you know, I have twin sons. One prefers to be smooth and the other ios more of a natrual type guy. Both are quite comfortable with their nudity and their "look".

As I grew older I noticed the presence of a few small, sparse hairs on my back but within reach. I did remove them using an ordinary shaving razor (double-bladed) but, as legend has it, they returned growing longer and stronger if allowed. I have a few more now and my wife wants to treat me to a luxury back waxing but that seems like such an unnecessary expense! If I can get her, or anyone, to pluck them I think that may be the way to go next.
I used to be a 80% shaved smoothie down below but I am presently on a 2 month hiatus (hair-a-tus) and allowing the jungle to overtake the pillar of manhood.
(Sorry, this is the funniest thing I could dream up on short notice...)

I have a question. How is having a shaved pubic area healthier?
The question is head hair that is long any cleaner than short hair or bald? Personal grooming determines that. It may make it easier to keep clean if you just need a polish compared to hair wash.
I used to shampoo my pubic hair when in the shower along with my long head hair. I then used to comb it dry. If left natural it went into tangles.
Since being smooth I find personal grooming has changed from shampooing to shaving so there is no saving in time here. It does avoid pubic hair petting caught in zippers and I am sure it makes me run and swim quicker (less wind resistance).
If we include anal hair in the pubic hair debate it is certainly more hygienic as faecal matter is difficult to appreciate and can be very embarrasing at a naturist venue. I have heard that ladies find that menstrual flow in a bald pubes is more pleasant.
From a naturist point of view it seems that it is strange to have pubic hair on either sex it being the norm to see smoothies. One feels weird with pubic hair because it is unusual.

I used to use the razor to shave. I have found that Norelco has made a body groomer for men that I decided to try. Let me tell you, no razor burn, very little stubble and gets all the hair. I still shave, but now I use the electric razor for men and gets all the hair off from the neck down, and yes I even trim (not all off) my armpit hair.
For me, it is the smell of hair that I shave. Don't like it and in fact get sick to my stomach if I ever do smell hair. So therefore, wahla, it is shaved off and I feel better. Won't ever go back. Now I just wish there were a resort near here to get all over tan.

I've been smooth for at least about 10 years. Started off trimming the length of my pubic hair because the long hairs would sometimes get underneath my foreskin and HURT. My wife complained that I was like a porcupine after I trimmed it some. Even shaved some of it at the sides to keep it from showing from a suit I wore working in the front yard.
Was hesitant to shave the rest because some of that what I shaved gave me those red bumps. It was then that I discovered Bikini Line cream. Shaved the hair all off and used it. Kept from getting the red bumps. Quit using it after a month or so. Shave every day now in the shower.
It's healthier. Ever put your hand down among your pubic hair (when clothed or when sitting naked in a chair)? Smell your hand. It stinks! Do the same while smooth. Don't smell anything.

From a naturist point of view it seems that it is strange to have pubic hair on either sex it being the norm to see smoothies.
Not having been to the venues that you may frequent, I can't say that's not true for you. I can say that it's definitely not true at any place I've ever been to here in the US, but then I generally don't pay much attention to genital areas.
One feels weird with pubic hair because it is unusual.
As a smoothy, how would you know that "one feels weird with pubic hair"? Why would someone feel weird for not altering his body? You claim that pubic hair is unusual? I think that's weird.

I've never tried shaving and I'm not interested. I try to accept my body just as it is (which is why I'm naked whenever possible) -- plus I want less maintenance in my life, not more. Removing my pubes would feel weird and unnatural.

It's kinda an odd thing...I first tried it out a couple of years ago just thinking that I'd let it grow back but after a brief period of going smooth I found I didn't want it back. A couple of times I have let it grow a bit when when I have known I would only have access to public showers while on a trip and it now feels foreign. So now I don't go more than a couple of days without shaving the pubic area entirely. I doubt I'll ever let it grow back again. I suppose I could look into laser removal but then again I hate pain.

Yeah I too love being smooth, that includes genitals, chest always, sometimes I shave my legs arms and arm pits and anus. I think it is even becoming a trend amongs teenagers now for what I hear.

Actually never thought of it as an addiction either. I know that I just enjoy the feeling of being smoother. Anyone in the Tidewater Va area?

I don't consider being a smoothie an addiction,I have been since I was 15, its healthier to me, for personal reasons and I just love being smooth, some people like being a smoothie some don't, being natural or bald eagle its what ever makes you happy that's counts.
The only smoothie am addicted to is strawberry's, bananas, mangoes with crushed ice.:D

I only got eyelashes and eyebrows left, and love the freedom it affords me. I tried leaving a bit of a patch for her, as she likes a bit of pubs down there, but I just did not feel good about leaving what I did not like, after all its my body. I have tried to convince her to shave her pubes off, but she just keeps it real short and neat. I personally can not stand body hair, any type at all and wish they would make us a medication that would just kill the hair follicles permanently. But I did find this product that I just might try without her knowing. http://www.nevershaveagain.com/
I can't stand if it starts to grow out even a lil bit, and do not mind the extra time to use the razor each day to catch the nubs or give a full body shave.

Call it what you want. I love the smooth feeling and I will remain smooth as long as possible. I wish I would have shaved years ago.

I hope this question isn't too personal, but how long does it take you to shave every day, Luv2BSmooth? I am a low to medium maintenance gal and I get impatient with shaving my armpits and lower legs every few days. I'm a very tactile person, and even if I thought I might like the feeling of being fur free, I just couldn't imagine the time and effort it would take for the upkeep.

I guess it depends on the quantity of shaving one does to determine how much time it takes. Full body shaving could take lots of time and for a woman...there is already lots of time spent on underarms, lower legs, upper legs and possibly pubic area.
Every couple days in the shower takes no longer than shaving my face so it's become just another grooming routine just like washing my hair.....only a few minutes at most.
It's like anything else. Once you've done it and done it repeatedly for some time....it's goes quickly without injury. At first..it takes time cuz you're going much slower than you will after you've done it for some time.

Why would this be an addiction? I'm smooth, I shave every day, because I like it....never thought of it as an addiction....

I have been smooth for probably about 12 or so years...I could not even imagine having pube hairs...it just doesn't seem clean.
I think that it would look and feel strange with hair after all of these years. Everyone should be smooth...at least try it for a year.
I wouldn't call it an addiction. It's like shaving your face...I just do it every morning in the shower then touch up with an electric razor.
Check out the web sit called www.shaveeverywhere.com it funny and great.

I don't look at it as an addiction, but I do prefer the feel, appearance and cleanliness that it affords.

it's funny, now that i think about it I think I pay more attention to my body hair than I do the hair on my head. There's just something that bugs me about letting it all grow wild.

i go off and on with shaving my pubes.
Initially I went through the same cycles and to me shaved pubes with everything else hairy looked quite silly too. Today I'm smooth all over and have been shaving my entire body for about a year now. It just becomes part of daily routine.

Hi Dana. I'm curious. Why do you think everyone should be smooth?

Joe,
I used to have a mustache and finally figured out that even after wiping it (what I thought was) clean with a napkin I still occasionally found food particles in it and could sometimes smell my food afterwards....so I shaved it for hygene (I also look a heck of a lot younger).
I believe the same goes with male and female pubic hairs. We have the technology available for us to shave and keep our hygene up so, why not use it.
Please note: If one really likes a beard and a full bush of hair then, for heaven's sakes, it's obviously their option to do so...enjoy. I just prefer the other...as does my wife. There is another very important note, when making love, the sensation of skin to skin is exceptional...for both of us.
To each their own.
Just like us liking nudism and others not being able to relate.

Hi Dana:
I know what you mean about the mustache. Eating a cheesesteak is what does it for me. Still, I think I'll put up with it. I've never shaved my upper lip - ever. I'm afraid of what it might look like if I shaved my mustache off. :)
You said "To each their own", so I guess you really didn't mean that everybody should be smooth.
Thanks for the reply - and welcome to the forum.

I started shaving recently, and it is a LOT of work! shocked I didn't know I was a able to bend and reach like I did! A few months back my wife asked me if I wanted to have my testicles waxed. I winced in pain just thinking about it. She said that her friend's husband started having it done and it became less of an issue after the first time (maybe he got used to the pain:eek:) Does anyone wax (or not)?

I don't wax but I can tell you one reason for the lack of pain in subsequent treatments. Individual hair follicles don't grow at a constant rate. That's why if you shave your head to the scalp in a few months it won't all be even anymore. Hair follicles spend time dormant and time active. So if you get waxed once, where it rips all of the stuff out, and than have regular followups none of the followups will rip out nearly as many hairs since many hairs won't have grown back yet. Beyond that waxing regularly can damage/destroy the roots enough that hair won't grow back or has a hard time growing back. I knew a girl who's waxer had to use lots of makeup on her eyebrows because she used to regularly wax them when pencil thin brows were the style. Now that more natural ones are back in vogue she has to use lots of makeup to make them even noticeable.
Ironically the whole thing still worked out good for the waxer. Her brows serve as a good advertisement for what waxing can do (make it not grow back) when most of her clients are girls who don't want their hair back. Usually she waxes legs, pubes, unibrows & that "tramp stamp" area where many Mediterranean girls have hair growing.

Wouldnt wax. There are creams that work well but one must be cautious were it goes . you have to smear it on and wait . I find shower and shave the best option.:)

I have been a smoothy for about 10 years and I can't imagine it any other way. I have thought of getting the laser treatment since I know that this is the way from now on. There ceratinly would be no turning back after that.

Well I am 38 now and started about 10 years ago trimming my pubic area. It was more like a hair cut and then kept getting shorter over the years.LOL I had more of an obsesion to keep trimming shorter and shorter. Now for the last 5 years Ive been smooth almost everywere. The only hair on my body now is the top of my head and I keep that because it can get very cold here in Canada during the winter.

One of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen was a man aged about 50 with an athletic body and completely hairless from the neck down. He told me he was first totally waxed when he was 17, and has continued having this treatment ever since. He was amazingly unselfconscious about his body, and said that he never cared who saw him naked. He was a professional model, and said that he had trained himself to maintain uncomfortable, even painful, positions. He said that he never minded being touched by either the photographers, artists or students. Are such people exceptionally rare?

Now that is one guy who is very comfortable in his own skin. Too bad more people are not like that.

Should parents encourage their under-age sons to have the infamous back sack and crack, and even give them the money to do so?

I shaved it all off last year. (Except the legs back and arms) My wife did not get it. I guess I am just a little weird. Love to tan nude on my back porch and this felt great. I made sure to use some sunscreen, the sun can be intense. I keep the I Pod going and a big glass of Ice Tea. Neighbors may not like it much but I have some nice bushes and fences. ( No one has called the cops yet, knock on wood. ) Still trying to get my wife to join me. THE NATURAL ONE
