Did you know that Bangkok is the sex capital of the world. I wonder if that's why they call it Bangkok? http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif Just a interesting fact to know and tell.

To tell the truth nudism is banned in Thailand. Of course some do it but not on public beaches.

The capital of sex is only a shadow compared to Russia. In a poll ten years ago the schoolgirls dream profession was prostitute.

The Thai name for Bangkok is "Krungtep", which translates as "City of Angels".

Anyone else know of a "City of Angels" that really isn't???

Guys, I am amazed - and disappointed in the replies above. Why does NakedNudists have to respond to my perfectly legitmate post, that Bangkok is the so called sex capital of the world!! In fact it is not, having lived there I can tell you there are many other cities in the world that can take that title.. There is also a large expat community of professional executives in Thailand, and I am sure that some of them are nudists, since the majority come from Europe. It was to this audience I was adressing my post. Why does nudism start a thread about sex? Get a life, folks

When I was in Thailand I found the people to be the most respectful and kind I have ever met. I was touring a temple and at this temple you could not wear shorts inside out of respect. They had oversized pants you could just pull on. There was this American man CRUSING AND SCREAMING that he would wear his shorts anywhere he @#%&* pleased. Everywhere we went if someone was rude it always was an American. Someone kindly ask if I were an American. I lied and said Canadian. I was ashamed of being an American. When I was there I was exposed to nothing but good. Here in America I personally think we could learn much from others if we weren't so convinced that we know everything and that we are the best at everything.

I'm planing a trip to Thailand soon, well March, and I know there is at least 1 kinda nude beach there. When I find out the name I'll repost it here. It's an unofficial beach, and I'm sure no Thai's will be there.

I too, will be visiting Thailand in Feb... and wondered about any nudist venues there. And I too am astounded at the demeanor of comments that started from nakednudists. I will be further south than Bangkok and wonder if more rural and natural areas away from the big cities are more tolerant of social nudism. I intend on being extremely respectful of their religion and laws and may have to wait til I get there to find out about this.

Alan, or Sauna...have you been there before and do you know of any resorts/beaches, etc? Jeff did you experience any nude spots?

Jason and FLslimguy - and others interested: There are definately no nudist opportunities in Thailand. (Except in your hotel room of course)
Believe me, I have lived and travelled throughout Thailand and just returned 2 days ago from the South, Hua Hin and Phuket. Unless you find some lonesome beach, which I doubt, you will have to wear swimmers. Just relax and enjoy the country and the people - textile style.

Thailand is a great country. I especially like the Northern part and the coast. Nude? Hey man they rarely even wear shorts even though it is usually very warm. The US dollar goes very far there, so definitely enjoy the best of everything except being nude.

Friends, nudism is not forbidden in Thailand. It is forbidden to offend anybody with your nudity but that is an entirely different matter. And if you are nude in a private area where you don't offend people outside your area it is perfectly legal.

I am afraid this comes rather late as many of the comments above are a few years old, but in case some might dig them up before going on a trip to Thailand in the future, here is my advice:

Please look us up! - we are the first Naturist Association in Thailand and we plan to identify naturist friendly places in Thailand and arrange member trips there. We have organized ourselves as a company where members hold shares and our outings are thus shareholder meetings - which are protected by privacy laws.
