Perhaps not the most thought out action but give the kid a break. There are lots worse things he could have done. If anyone saw him that hadn't seen a nude guy before well then I guess it was an education. I am sure it was a disruption and they should do something but I think arresting the guy was way too much.

"There's no way anyone in the district would consider this a prank," said District Superintendent Linda Rice. "We're here to teach children, and we do have high standards." http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

No sense of humour there at all! It would have been viewed as a prank when I was in highschool many years ago! I suspect the school and the district needs more streakers!

Their "high standards" are apparently set too high if they consider a harmless prank to be something worth prosecuting. Streaking is something students have been doing for many years, and I'm sure it will continue.

Ah, but this is the age where we have police officers who patrol the schools and where little squirt guns are considered dangerous weapons. As much as I hate to sound like this -- and as much as I pity the kid -- what he did was a stupid thing. It's a high school in the modern age! Of course he'll get arrested. What isn't illegal and dangerous in school anymore? I wish it were the days where it was a prank as well, but times have changed.

Still hope they let him off easy, though.

Prank? Hardly. This is obviously the action of a vicious terrorist. Thank God for the Patriot Act and Guantanamo. Get em Georgie! for the sake of our children's purity.

I just do not know.....Blowing off steam with a little streak around the school....or blowing off steam by blowing another students head off!

I'll take the streaker....thank you!

I think calling him naked boy for the rest of the year is sufficiant punishment!

Well, I think there should be a LOT MORE streaking. I remember when I was in high school, we had a streaker (once, I remember) - I thought it was GREAT. More streaking, less complaining, please...!

The student, whose name was withheld by police and school officials, was charged with exposure, a violation punishable by up to 15 days in jail and a $250 fine. He also faces up to five days' suspension and possibly more severe punishment if the case goes to a hearing before the superintendent.

The student said he had been dared by friends to streak through the school, according to police.

"and possibly more severe punishment"

Where's John Ashcroft when you need him? Yes, the kid did a stupid stunt, but it was just that, a stupid stunt. It sounds like he got more punishment than the "crime" deserved. If he were really smart he would have streaked in protest of something. At least he could have claimed protection under First Admendment.

This would get the schools goat...every kid there should show up naked if the streaker get the maximum punishment. Or any punishment for that matter. I totally support the streaker.

As usual the incident is blown all out of proportion by the administration. I won't call the kid stupid, but he did use poor judgement. I wonder if the kids that did the daring received any reprimand.

Here is a similar incident reported in todays paper...

Student denies streaking
By Eric Louie, CONTRA COSTA TIMES
Who was that masked man who ran naked through
a "powder puff" girls football game at Amador Valley High School last year? The Pleasanton school district believes it is Garrett Aziz, a junior at Amador last year who is now a senior. But he and his family deny that, going as far as hiring a forensic analyst to compare a home video of the incident to nude photos of him.

For the full story see Contra Costa Times (http://ContraCostaTimes.com)

This is in Pleasanton ...home of the "100 Nudes Art Show " I entered last year...For those interested in nude art ..The show will be held again this year Oct 6th Through 29th

Well, maybe it doesn't matter who did it as long as the school finds some student to make an example of?

When I was in high school, our streaker did not get punished. He did not interrupt any events. He simply dashed across the front circle as the students were leaving at the end of the day.

If I were the principal, I guess I would be annoyed if anyone clothed or nude interrupted an event. I'd make him clean chalkboards for a couple of afternoons, maybe have one of the coaches make him do some exercises.

The principal of that school has much better things to worry about than some nude kid running through the school doing some simple prank. Unless the kid was actually disrupting other students being taught or unless he was actually bringing harm to himself or others, I think the principal shouldve just let it go.

Its not something you waste your whole day on and its sure as hell not something you call the cops and get the poor kid arrested for, that was just way out of line and I think both the other students and the parents oughta put up a stink about how that guy got treated.

Suspending that student isnt gonna solve anything and it just means hes gonna miss out on his education which is more important than punishing him for some harmless prank.
