They wear these tiny triangle string bikinis to the pool that fall off every so often and get really embarrassed when a boy sees them naked and are upset about it for the rest of the day but will go back next week in the same bikini.

Strange isn't it? What I can't understand is: Why is the textile world so concerned about covering their bodies so that no one will see anything they shouldn't, and yet they so often wear such skimpy clothes and swimsuits that they might just as well be nude? What a contradiction! /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Maby you should try to introduce them to the nudist / naturist lifestyle.

Reminds me of a nudist cartoon I saw. It was a picture of two girls in the smallest string bikinis around standing by a sign for where the nude beach starts and some naked people on the other side. The one girl says to the other "I don't know how they do it" when they look almost as nude as the nudists.

I have some weird friends myself. They can watch porn, seeing a strangers erect penis in the act of sex, but my nude flacid penis outside the context of sex is strange for them. Go figure.

Its the difference between what is considered reality (a nudist) and fantasy and therefore not real (porn).

Isn't it ridiculous?

I've come across these people. It's all about the shame of the genitals as if they're evil or something. You're showing so much you might as well just bare it all any way.

Yea - I remember one time when I was swimming laps and this girl having string pieces. Not a one piece bathsuit but two pieces which isn't swimable for laps. Anyway, later on, her top piece did final come apart and flowing atop while this girl swimming down to the bottom looking for her lost piece. I was like what's the world is she doing? She got so scare and left so quickly.

I had a long distance GF who would feel free about her body, would jokingly flash people, yet, thought that nudists were ... different.

In all fairness, ladies wear the bathing suit that looks the cutest, they feel most comfortable in or makes their body look the best most of the time. I just feel I am most comfortable and look my best not wearing one!

One must remember "Weird" is a relative term, one must!;)

The other bit of irony here is that I think most people look better naked than they do in a swim suit.

Oh, that's completely different. Seeing two "actors" in the nude is completely different than seeing your friends in the nude if they aren't familiar with the whole naturist lifestyle. JMO!

I think Vanesa has it right. I once offhandedly remarked to a friend who was sunbathing topfree for first time that I thought she looked better without the top, and was surprised how she reacted -- all of a sudden more relaxed and confident. Maybe we all, men and women, are so concerned about the modesty angle that we neglect the sway of positive feedback.

On swimming laps at public pools, I have a naturist friend who wears one of those sport halter tops (relatively short with no elastic on the bottom) which she claims is great for reducing drag and feeling free without running afoul of coverup rules. Of course nude would be better, but meantime...

Hey thanks Agde!

Regarding your friend, I bet that would be comfortable, but it probably would be quite see through without a liner. I don't know how it would be good at reducing drag, maybe I will give it a try.

Yes I know that there is a difference, but it still seems weird to me that nudity in a sexual situation is OK, but take away the sex and it is somehow wrong.

As a joke, and this was before I was a nudist, I took a picture of my genitals on a camera that a friend had forgotten at my house so that when he got the film developed there I would be in all my glory. I was hoping for the strange looks he would have recieved picking up the photos, as well as his startled reaction of seeing me nude, and it would be a big laugh, all very funny, which it was. The funniest part was that I had forgotten all about it and was just as surprized as he was when he opened the package and we were looking through them with his girlfriend. Any way what I am trying to get to is that he had no problem looking at the photo of me nude, even showed it around to other people, but to just hang out nude he would have a problem seeing me that way.

Vanesa, clearly I know nothing about women's apparel terminology! :) The mentioned swimtop is evidently called a "halter tankini" -- the trick being to get one with no "fit" or "built-in support" -- then she modified it by cutting it to "crop top" length. I hope you understand this more than I do! Life's obviously a lot simpler nude! :)

LOL Yes, I understand what you mean. Thanks for the detail, good for her for wearing whatever she is most comfortable in.:)

I was on the (non-nude) beach last week with some friends and a couple was sunbathing next to us. The girl had one set of straps on her little tiny bikini top undone so as to not get tan lines in that spot and she tried to turn over and out came her boobs. She quickly tried to cover and re-adjust herself. One of my female friends saw it and said "it's ok, I'll show you mine in you want." The girl just laughed and no other boobs were shown, although several of those friends do want to visit the nude beach at Haulover Park with me.
