    Re: Seeing older people shaved

I believe it is a cleaner way to live, without all that crazy hair coming out of strange places

      Re: Seeing older people shaved

I never saw an older person smooth before I decide to do so. I started trimming my pubic hair to keep it from getting underneath my foreskin (ouch!). Then my wife complained about my being "picky". So, I shaved it about 10-12 years ago and never looked back. Shave it every day with my facial hair. Just routine.

Think it looks nicer on a man. Not sure about women. Some look better smooth; others maybe not.

Certainly makes sex better with no hair in the way.

I swore Id never grow pubes again because I love the smooth feel and look but now Im working on a landing strip. Its slow coming in after years of plucking but I really like what I see. I know its more of a girl style but at this point in my life whatever.

At my gym, there are a lot of 70 and 80 year old gents , especially in the morning.
I noticed a few look quite bare "there". Not sure if they are shaving or just losing the pubic hair.

It seems that body hair is out of style these days, for both men and women. Being a nudist has shown me that a lot more guys shave downstairs that I thought.
I really like the neatness and feeling of things being smooth down there (still have a landing strip).

I'm currently working on getting in shape - once I reach my goal, I'm thinking of getting rid of the rest of my body hair.

I tried to shave "down there", but I had problems with rashes and bumps. So I just decided it wasn't worth the trouble and let it all grow back. I don't have that much body hair as it is, so I think I'll just keep with what little I do have. lol

Shaving "there" or anywhere for that matter, is not an age thing. Its a whatever you are comfortable with thing. I shave because I like the smooth feeling and puts a smile on my face to see no tan lines as well!

Folks ... I know you're all trying to be PC with what you post but ... we are all adults. Shaving, waxing, laser treatments of the pubic area should not be referred to as "down there, private area, private parts, there ... naughty bits ..." we really need to be adult about this and discuss it openly, maturely, ... "pubic area, penis, scrotum, vagina, perineum, anal area ..." it's really not that difficult to type or discuss. Lets be adult about this ... if you want to discuss it.

                  ;-)

hahaha ... Thanks Rockdad. Before the site crash ... this place was anything but, about "members being careful and maybe overly so of the content and descriptions in their posts" ! It's not only here but on many sites. I find that the same people thinking we should all use the same restrooms, are so afraid or will not type the words ... penis, vagina, pubic area, genitalia, ... it's always ... "down there" or "privates." It really is high time some nudists get over it and communicate like adults. It seems quite contradictory that we will discuss the benefits of nudism but some have such a difficult time talking about our body parts and using their correct names. Just food for thought.

Interesting how this has turned into an age thing. My wife resisted any idea of shaving until I noted that the last time I visited the hot springs (we have none where we live now and I was visiting family) that all the older women were hairy, the 30-somethings were trimmed and anyone under 30 was hairless. Now she shaves as she tries to remain young at heart even in her 40s.

Deciding to go hairless on the pubic area and genitalia was a fad, a trend started by the female porn stars and adult magazines like Penthouse and Hustler. Even Playboy didn't have it first hairless pubic hair model photographed and featured in their magazine til after the other two had already published these types of pictures for a couple months. It was a trend or fad but it's continued and in my opinion, it's not one of those trends or fads that you'll see, fade away.

Women ... more women of all ages are now removing most or all of their pubic hair, for whatever reason. It really makes no difference to me, to us, to our nudist friends. I had a very open conversation with some late 30 to early 40 year olds at a party recently. Sure the alcohol loosened some lips but it got them talking about a subject they seemed to want to discuss with the known nudist in the crowd. I was asked it having shaved pubic hair was a requirement, was mandatory, was preferred, expected ... to being a nudist. I was asked if I was shaving my pubic hair off. All of the people in this discussion were our oldest daughter's age, her friends. I found that every one of them had a smooth pubic area and genitalia area via shaving, waxing or laser treatment ... and none of them were nudists. So I said ..." Nudists are nothing more than a cross section of the society we all live in. We mirror the very lives, occupations, family issues, life issues all of you non nudists live because we are all ... just like you. Only difference, many of us live in the nude whenever we possibly can."

What I've found, in our circle of friends, people we've talked to, on this subject, what I've read on ALL these nudist sites and what I've noticed/observed from our frequent visits and vacations to nude venues, is that this trend is something that so many have adopted and intend to keep. For many reasons, many/most nudists/naturists seem to prefer having no pubic hair. For them it's no longer a trend but a preference to have that area that way. We tried it decades ago for personal reasons but in continuing to keep it that way, we found we preferred the look, the feel for ourselves and for each other. For us there is no going back to having a natural growth of pubic hair because we just prefer not having it and have been this way for over 20 years.

What I usually find strange and highly insulting, for nudists to say, is that not having pubic hair makes one look like a "little girl" or a "12 year old boy." Deciding to remove ones pubic hair is really a personal choice, just as shaving ones face, under arms, legs, hair on your head. If removing ones hair from their pubic area and genitalia makes one feel younger ... that's great. Why would anyone say anything negative about someone wanting to continue to feel young and follow trends that make them feel that way? Is there an age limit to getting a piercing, a tattoo? There shouldn't be and there shouldn't be an age limit to removing ones pubic hair and to suggest that, to make mention of it, as a nudist, just seems a bit hypocritical to the nudist/naturists philosophy. For those that continue to question the reasons for pubic hair removal ... I'd have to wonder about their intentions and philosophies are in this lifestyle.

That reminds me a lot of a conversation I had with my girlfriend's BFF. She'd found out I was a nudist, was fascinated by the topic, and was considering trying it out. But first, she had a hundred questions for me. We were out, having a few drinks, when the bombardment commenced. Everything from where to go, what happens there, what age group were most nudists, was everyone completely nude, etc... Then the line of questioning took a "different" turn. Since nudism was all about being "natural", did nudists let their pubes grow out? I answered "it depends on the individual", and then she hit me with a bunch of questions about it. Should she let her pubes grow out before heading to a nudist beach? Or should she shave completely first? Was I shaved? Did I shave right before going to the nude beach or did I just stay shaven all the time? I told her that many, if not most people at Mazo are shaven; she replied that in that case she would definitely get a Brazilian before going.(?)

I found it a bit perplexing that she put so much importance on how her vagina looked if she was going to try nudism; to the point of liberally discussing her pubes, mine and my girlfriend's. But then I remembered that she is not a nudist, has no nudist experience, and that "pubic fashion" is a cause for concern for people these days. My ex struggled for a while as to "what looked better", alternating between close crop and completely smooth. My girlfriend who is "anti-smooth" for herself still is concerned with how much hair she should have and crops in varying degrees. I don't think about it much; but I still prefer to be smooth when I go to Mazo, since the vast majority of the people there are hairless. I think this "quandary" distracts a bit from the reality of nudism: just get naked and don't worry about how your vagina/penis looks!!!

Exactly ... NudonyII ... your last paragraph is right on target.

Our youngest daughter's closest friends are the couple that we've seemed to have converted. It helps that their oldest hates wearing clothes as well and is constantly asking ... "now, can I be naked?" She's a pretty smart cookie and realizes that she has to wait til the company has left the house! hahaha

Our youngest's BFF went to the beach with us years ago. She, at the time was sporting natural growth with minimal trimming on the sides. How is it we knew ... well, truth be told and since she is like our third daughter, she stood in front of us and asked my wife, "is this look okay or should I shave it like yours?" The topic got discussed by all four women that afternoon while I went for a walk. I felt it would be easier for our 3rd daughter to ask questions without embarrassment if I was not there and it worked quite well. She got the answer she needed to make her decision.

Our next visit to the beach ... she brought her husband. He was a bit nervous but they got naked but seemed a bit tentative. After a few minutes they were up and walking into the water. On their return ... it was evident why they were both a bit nervous about stripping ... they'd both decided to try shaving. We always take a bottle or two of wine with us to the beach, depending on how many of us go. The wine helped that trip so that they ALL, our daughters, their friends, could feel comfortable enough to state the obvious and then ask questions openly and get our honest answers.

It also helped them with just enjoying the day and not concentrate so much on not people watching. They felt that they should spend the entire day looking out at the water or at the sand. Telling them that being at the beach is no different than spending a day at Disneyland ... and that we people watch at both places. That allowed them to see the different preferences in many things about nudists and it also re enforced that ... we are no different than anyone else, no matter what age we are.

Our 3rd daughter had lots to say at that party we attended, where I was involved in that group discussion. For those that were anti shaving, she asked them questions that made them stop in their tracks, stop their snide remarks or their attempts at trying to be funny. I never had to say anything ... she took care of them. But most of those 30-40 somethings in the crowd just couldn't get their heads around nudism, while talking with me ... but seemed to stop and think a bit harder when it came from her that she and her husband had "dabbled in it at home," and found that it was now their preferred way of living at home. I could see some slightly inebriated people stopping and thinking quite hard about that one!
