    Hi Redtan,
I have seen Eternity's picture which is on her profile page now, which has a gray and blue background. I prefer a strong suggestion of realism, so the grotesque head shown is what I especially do not care for. However, some of Picasso's painting are made similary and he always gets rave reviews and praise for his paintings and there is even a museum for all his paintings. I, personally, like his earliest paintings which contain more factors of realism. However to each his own.
I especially try to make the backgrounds and surroundings of my painting more abstract, making the painting more interesting.
I received a "proportional divider" from Carden {on the internet) which I am eager to use when modeling a portrait of my friend's head, so that the sculptured portrait will not become too large for a regular sized room.

    Hello David:
I hope you are well. You were kind enough to send me messages about my paintings earlier and I thought you might be interested in seeing one of them that a member of this board, Eternity, has used as her 'profile picture'.

Thank you for the link. I have a Modigliani (print, of course) on my wall! I painted the avatar based on one of Picasso's self portraits. It actually reminds me very much of my son. Your Ben Franklin portrait says a lot about how you view the world.

I used to live in Vancouver and Victoria but I am now in the SE corner of the province - about north of the Idaho/Washington border. Wreck beach is certainly an interesting place although I haven't been there in years. I'll have to stop in there on one of my trips to Vancouver and see what has changed (probably a lot)

    Hi David:
Thanks for bringing up the issue of 'doing good' in the atheisit discussion I started. I see you are interested in sculpting. One of my hobbies is painting (witness my atavar - with a tip of the cap to Pablo). I have a chunk of soapstone sitting there daring me to to try!
