October 5-7 Shangri-La will be hosting the AANR West Fall Festival. The theme for the Festival will be Baubles, Bangles & Beads. Make your reservations now for rooms and RV sites. Remember this is a very popular weekend for travelers. There will be prizes for best costumes for the Dance on Saturday Evening.

Thanks for posting this in the Events Calendar, Sandman, and it's great to see that CFI will be there. Just wondering who from CFI is planning on being at the Festival?

I called the office at the Ranch yesterday and here's the schedule of planned events.

Friday, 7:30 pm - Karaoke in Millennium Hall.



Broadway Joe and Anita will be entertaining everyone with poolside music on Saturday & Sunday and at the dance on Saturday evening.

Saturday - Water volleyball, hard court volleyball, billiards, tennis, horseshoes and ping pong tournaments. Sign up starting at 9:00 am [Millennium Hall], events begin at 10:00 am.

Saturday, 8:00 pm - Dance in the clubhouse. There will be prizes for best costumes at the dance [see Sandman's post].

Sunday - sports tournaments continued, if necessary.

I'm planning on being there Saturday and Sunday. Any other CFF members from Arizona, California, New Mexico... going to be there?

Just looked at the forecast and the high temps for the greater Phoenix area will be in the low to mid eighties this weekend. Great weather to be a naturist at the Fall Festival.

Corky sent me a note that he and Nudecaster Greg would be there and, this past Sunday, the Shangri La Ranch office said Nudecaster Brian was going to be there.

I'm still planning on being there Saturday and Sunday. Any other CFF members or Nudecasters going to be there?

Yes, I'll be at the AANR West Fall Festival this weekend. If you are there, and recognize any of us from the show, feel free to say hi!

This is a recurring yearly event with many activities. We can always count on Broadway Joe and Anita to spin our favorite music as well as Brian Spence coming out with the Nude in the News staff to report on the event. We hold a water volleyball tournament with teams coming in (the last couple of years) from Mira Vista and De Anza (MV winning the last couple of years). I guess this might be a challenge to other clubs to come out and take on the Shangri La team. The weather is always great as we typically enjoy temps at that time of the year in the 80's. Karaoke is usually held on Friday evening and of course the event dance on Saturday night. If you do not have plans for October, you may want to pencil in a visit to Phoenix AZ- of course naturally.

Wow, what a fantastic weekend it was to have the AANR West Fall Festival. The weather was perfect for all who attended and got to listen to music spun by Broadway Joe and Anita, regulars at the event. Brian was there with his film crew to report on the event. We had attendees from other resorts, specifically to compete in the Water Volleyball Tournament. The last couple of years, Mira Vista had claimed the title, though for the second year in a row the crew from DeAnza brought heavy competition. Alas, the home pool advantage was too much as Shangri La went unbeaten and brought home the tittle for 2012 in the double elimination tourney. Other events included billiards, ping pong and of course horseshoes. The dance on Saturday night was well attended with practically standing room only. It was a great event and definitely worth the trip even for our California attendees that had to shell out over $5 a gallon for fuel (though most said as soon as they got to the AZ border, they pulled over and filled up for less than $4 a gallon). Watch the current News in the News episode 268 and I am sure you will plan on attending next year.
