What do you want to see in nudist fiction?

What is missing today in terms of nudist fiction - besides the fact there isn't any to speak of? But rather, what topics or scenarios would draw your interest enough to purchase a novel on the subject? Not plot lines per se, but more along the line of what themes or driving scenarios would peak your interest. I do have a substantial collection of nudist fiction novels dating back to the 1930s so I am curious what people would like to read about today.

What about in movies? Nudism is often portrayed as comic relief or situations of embarrassment and hardly ever in a serious light. Would the subject ever gain acceptance in US theaters?

How about something futuristic, a fictional story about nudism, the evolution of living in a nude society and how that came to be on planet earth?

Or how about a story with nudism as it relates to science, not a thriller, but something really interesting, like living in another dimension, on another planet millions of light years away where nudity is common in this civilization, and wearing clothes are unheard of?

Two of my favorites which are somewhat similar to that are 1) Planet of the Apes. In the original novel the humans were strictly nude, but as they were also primitive in nature, there wasn't much in the development of their state of undress. And in 2) Edgar Rice Burroughs A Princess of Mars, the martians were all naked as was the main female character - the princess - Dejah Thoris.

The Planet of the Apes was on TV years back, but I was too young to remember the story line. The other one you mentioned I've not heard of and it sounds interesting to see. I'll check it out.

Many of us in this forum often bring up the subject how perhaps 'one day', and 'in a perfect world', and 'what ifs' about nudism being accepted, understood, and respected for its sole beauty. It would be nice to read a nudist fiction novel along these lines.

The ideas are endless. Are you wanting to maybe one day write a book on nudist fiction?

Robert A. Heinlein has a number of interesting novels where nudity is commonplace. The one that specifically comes to mind is "The Number of the Beast," where a motley group of people discover inter-dimensional travel and a number of earth alternates where nudity is considered the norm. While not exactly a "nudist friendly" novel, considering it involves swinging, he still puts some interesting bits in there.

I'm sure there's other Heinlein novels that don't involve polyamory, but I've only read a few of his books and this one was the one that made nudity seem the most normal, although a bit "in your face."

Maybe Blue Lagoon but with Brook Shields and Christopher (think it was) naked all the time. Maybe Marooned naked, but with a female playing the part.

Lots of movies had scenes in very hot, humid areas where the protection of clothing wasn't really needed. 'twould be better if those scenes were done naked.

Eliminate those "l-shaped" bed covers in scenes that leave him uncovered on top but cover her up to the shoulders, and her clutching those bed covers as though she might show something.

And there is this smaller group of textiles pushing for their rights. They want CO beaches so they can wear their "swimsuits." No one else understands why anyone would want to wear clothes, but these textiles do.

Hummm, sounds familiar, doesn't it?!? Maybe it has already been done.

The story would need to be really imaginative, an original to get positive attention. Something like that from a totally other dimension, life force, another world which naturally embraces nudism. Still thinking. . .

I have always liked science fiction stories and some of my favorite ones is where someone arrives at a culture where nudity is the norm and people who wear clothes (except for hazardous situations) are seen as the exception. I always like to read how a person who has never tried nudity tries to adopt into that culture and some of their thoughts as they join the natives.

Me too. Sci-Fi is good, but I prefer non-fiction. Well for this thread it's about fiction. Here's a thought... the characters are from CFF. only those who wouldn't mind taking on a part in a good nudist fiction story. As you can see, we already have excellent writers and illustrators who love the arts. Just a thought.

In the past month or so there's been some controversy about nude statues, i.e. the bare rock climber and Angelina Jolie. There are others I'm sure. If all the nude statues, let's say famous ones in the musuems, came to life after hours then that would be something to write about.
