I think you may have misinterpreted her statement. She isn't opposed to doing nudity in a film. The reason why she is wary of doing so is b/c she doesn't want the nudity to be made into something sexual or pornographic. In case of a celeb like Ms. Portman, the media will turn her nudity into a "sexy" thing rather than treat it as part of the artistic nature of the film. She rather people take the nudity for what it is, just nudity and just something beautiful/artistic. She is wary of doing it b/c she knows it will be turned around into something else. Ms. Portman has also stated in many other interviews that she is not oppose to the idea but has declined to be nude b/c many nude scenes written in scripts have no place in the story to begin with. Many writers put in a nude scene as some thing to entice people to see the film rather than the nudity playing a role in the story.
