I'm quite sure the Church would cry foul if the blowout prevent-er violated its doctrines and teachings.

Thank you very much, Naked Gary. Now I have seen "the film".

It reminded me of a cross between "The Blair Witch Project" and "The Attack of the Killer Tomatoes"....with the Keystone Cops as Islamic terrorists.

It is total idiocy that such a silly film can cause every Muslim to go berserk and violently attack the civilized world. Hey Islam....anyone can make a movie...it doesn't mean anything.
Anyone can burn a Quran or a Bible. In America we tolerate such rudeness because state enforced "politeness" usually leads to be-headings.

This film was not worth mentioning by the president of the United States, his Secretary of State or Mitt Romney. By apologizing for it.. and Romney commenting about it... they gave unnecessary gravity and impetus to Islamic murderers worldwide. By claiming that this film was the reason for the attacks on our Embassies and Consulates only gives Islamics a credible cover up for their preplanned attacks.

All the current riots around the world are an anti west [USA] "beatup" by extreme Muslim leaders just taking advantage of what is in fact offensive material, using the opportunity to beat the west about the ears. The Libyan embassy tragedy was something else i.e. a planned (long before the movie release) Al Qaeda terrorist attack on the anniversary of 9/11

In 1987 an artist depicted Christ on the Cross in a glass case full of his own urine - "Piss Christ". It was displayed world wide. That was VERY offensive to Christians. The following is Wikepedia's report of the aftermath: -

    Quote -
"The piece caused a scandal when it was exhibited in 1989, with detractors, including United States Senators Al D'Amato and Jesse Helms, outraged that Serrano received $15,000 for the work, part of it from the taxpayer-funded National Endowment for the Arts. Serrano received death threats and hate mail, and lost grants due to the controversy Others alleged that the government funding of Piss Christ violated separation of church and state. The work was vandalized at the National Gallery of Victoria, Australia, and gallery officials reported receiving death threats in response to Piss Christ. Supporters argued that the controversy over Piss Christ is an issue of artistic freedom and freedom of speech."

It was stated that, "In 1987 an artist depicted Christ on the Cross in a glass case full of his own urine - "Piss Christ". It was displayed world wide. That was VERY offensive to Christians."

It must have been offensive to Muslems also, as Jesus is one of their revered prophets. In Muslem beliefs Jesus was not crusified and that Jesus was so holy that he ascended in the air to heaven.

If the "Piss Christ" was offensive to Muslims why didn't send death squads after the artist?? That's the way they respond to "religious offenses".

Sorry David, no excusing Islamic terrorism.

Christians do not attack Embassies, kill diplomats, or fly airplanes into buildings when their Bible is burned or their belief's are trashed. Only a people who's culture is stuck in the 12th century and consider a form of tyrannical mob control to be a religion...do things like that.

Gloria is quite right, Christians would never do anything like that.

    From Mark's link:

The Archbishop of Paris, Jean-Marie Cardinal Lustiger, said "You don't behave as Christians but as enemies of Christ. From the Christian point of view, one doesn't defend Christ with arms. Christ himself forbade it."

That is a condemnation. Ever hear anything like that from an Islamic cleric about the World trade Center or any of the countless attacks against America???

Of course not......their "religion" (?) requires out destruction.

Well, if Gloria (and her accountant) never heard of Islamic clerics condemning the 9/11 attacks, they must never have made any such condemnations.

One would have to look beyond Faux News to know this type of thing......

    Re: The Middle East

Let us recall that there is age old violence between the two major groups of Islam, the Sunni and Shiite. Most of the recurring violence, such as car bombs, bombing of mosque full of worshipers, tear gas, etc. is perperatrted by Sunni.

"Shi’ites do not regard Sunnis as infidels or heretics and do not feel they have anything spiritually to gain by killing them.
This explains why nearly all suicide-bomb attacks against Muslims have been perpetrated by Sunnis (Al Qaeda is a Sunni group)."

Some Muslims do not just cause destruction in the wider world, but some Muslims fight, kill among themselves.
