    Doctor Visit

While at the doctor's the subject came up about strong bones & vitamin D. He said most people don't get enough vitamin D. He said one way was Cod liver oil, yuk. another was way was wild salmon & most of what we get is farm raised & doesn't have the right stuff. Then there is vitamin D supplement. The best way was to remove all your clothes & go outside in the sunshine. Now I know why I love to be nude outdoors. But he said we tend to apply too much sun screen & then we don't get the benefit of the sun. Need to reach a happy medium.

Can your doctor write you a prescription for that nude time outside? Wonder if it would hold up in court.
I'm aging like fine wine ... I'm getting complex and fruity.

About two years ago our doctor started testing her patients with a simple blood test to determine whether we had sufficient vitamin D. Both my wife and I were diagnosed with low levels and Vitamin D supplements were suggested. The same thing happened to a good friend of mine. We take 1000 units each day.

    Re: Doctor Visit

At age 15, I saw my first issue of Sunshine and Health. A school mate passed it around, everyone had a good laugh and then gave it to me. He said I could keep it. I took it home and
read it from cover to cover. At first, I looked at the pictures, then read the stories and articles.

One article impressed me the most, about the benefits of nude sunbathing, along with nude recreation. I was convinced that complete exposure of the body to sunlight would keep me in
good health. As soon as I was of age, I applied to a local nudist camp for a visit. Upon arrival, I quickly undressed for my first ever nude sunbath. After that first day, I was hooked.

Since then, I have preached the benefits of nude sunbathing to anyone who will listen.

15 minutes a day of full exposure to direct sunlight would do almost everyone a world of good. That 15 minutes is without sunscreens - there is little danger of burning for that brief a time, but no longer. Of course those of us in this forum are predisposed to prefer full nudity for the sun bath, but practically speaking it would make little difference if you were wearing a skimpy costume - that extra 5% of skin exposure is not critical. Some people think it is enough to have bare arms and face, and maybe legs below the knees exposed - I disagree, If over half of your body is covered you are getting exposure on less than a quarter of your skin (remember even nude only half of your body is in the sun, you aren't transparent), so you'd need to at least double your sun time - and that is where you start to risk skin damage on the exposed parts of your body. Safest to keep as bare as you dare for no more than 15 minutes in the sun without sunscreen - and remember to rotisserie yourself, but no basting.

sounds good to me. I will make sure that I get my 15 minutes in today and I am off work for the next few days, maybe the sun will stay out long enough to get some more then too.
