WANTED: Clothing-Optional work

Seeking to identify and organize employment and labor opportunities in the Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads area for persons desiring to work free of clothing. The ideal business location would be a back office, shipping/receiving, customer service, production or manufacturing facility with SMALL staff size and no unscheduled customer traffic (i.e. a secure, controlled environment). If you can accomodate nudist, naturist, or full body acceptance employees and permit them to (possibly) work without clothing, then please review the website at the bottom of this posting.

Social nudism is growing in popularity across the country and around the world, and in the interest of bringing it even further into the mainstream of society and gaining acceptance of the practices, beliefs, ethics and objectives of those who do not need clothing, this invitation to connect if offered.

If this idea sounds outrageous to you, please give a moment of further thought to the ideals of lowering stress in the workplace and getting to know "the full person" working next to you instead of an image they create and recreate daily. Clothing is a costume, a disguise, a tool for society and people to express a collective interest or willingness to adopt a type of behavior, and similarly the absence of clothing accomplishes the same thing! There are so many articles and sources of information on social nudism available online that this posting will not attempt to define, clarify or otherwise promote it.

A goal of the Nudist Employment group is to allow persons who spend most of their time clothing free at home to further extend that manner of living to their work. Many advertisements have appeared in online classifieds offering modeling, handyman, housekeeping and a variety of other services to be accomplished by those capable of and desiring to work clothing free.

To participate in this organizing effort send a description of the work or business offering employment, the length of time it has been established (in months or years) and a way to contact a hiring manager OR add the information to the database at Nudist Employment. The business location *may* need to post inconspicuous notices advising of the clothing-optional acceptance policy at the job, job site or work location. The purpose of this is to clearly notify those wishing not to view such behavior that proceeding beyond the sign constitutes consent and full knowledge such conditions will be viewed.

We are also seeking persons to maintain a copy of any list of employers or work sites created, interview/screen potential employees and insure the continuation of this movement. If responding please include one or more of the following keywords in the Subject line: Employer, Employee, Organizer, Supporter A Supporter is someone not looking for work at the present time but who agrees with the information stated in this message.

OK, as we said before -- not meaning to beat a dead horse here, but...

An employer will hire you for your skills set. Not because you want to work in the nude, unless it's a bona fide requirement for the job.

Your best bet is to find some type of "work at home" job (believe it or not, I have one) but I've only known two entities that run non-nudist related businesses where nudity in the office is OK.

And if you want "nudist employment" -- as I've said time and time again, there ARE employment opportunities within the nudist world. But, you would have to have professional references AND nudist references. As I always said - pick up a copy of the AANR bulletin, and peruse the want ads there.

Usuallylurk, I get your point, I really do, BUT the intention here is to plant a seed or share and idea of expanding work opportunities beyond the realm of the nudist world.

I realize this is a bit of a pipe dream, but people often say the only ideas that go nowhere are the ones that get written down on paper and never shared, never expressed beyond the pages of a private journal or obscure Blog. So, please pardon me but, I think most of the best jobs in the nudist world are occupied by people who LOVE them and will continue doing them until they die, retire or become incapable of continuing. This means we must express the desire to create, to innovate, to penetrate other markets and on the one-in-a-million chance there is someone in my area who also happens to be a nudist and owns a business, I put this advertisement out there for them to see.

Low paying jobs do not help people make ends meet. Being hired for my skills is fine, but if I can be hired for my skills and become employed at a warehouse, indiustrial design firm, computer assembly operation, or Call Center (a small one) where the owner would ask, 'Our newest employee is a nudist, would anyone mind if he worked without clothing here in the office?' would be fantastic! I would almost be willing to do it as a secretive publicity stunt in an established office just to prove to whatever small group of employees that it could be done!

Or perhaps there is a business out there where the owner is sick and tired of hiring from the same "crop" of recruits and now feels it is time to try something different! I do not know how possible this is, how far-fetched the scenario might be, but any chance is better than a "0.00" chance of not trying.

Since you are a member Emeritus of CFI with more than triple my number of postings, can I ask what else in your imagination might be *possible* rather than impossible? --- There really is no need to repeat the same advice again if we have already heard it and it does not move the idea forward. I thank you for reading and taking the time to reply, but I want to know who among us are the:

Nude painters (house, room and fine art)
Nude gardeners
Naked farmers
Nude models
Naked river guides or outdoor trek leaders
Nude tutors (teachers, homework aids, mentors)
Nude musicians
Nude Videographers (wedding, vacation, anything...)

I cannot help but think there must be a micro-economy of people earning a living either at nudist facilities or at non-nudist ones where nudity is sometimes possible (i.e. modeling) and so my hope is to document where those people are today!

In some businesses I can imagine a front sales counter high enough that customers cannot see over it and therefore have no idea what the employees are wearing!

Also, if anybody wants to copy the text of this posting and insert the city name or region where they live, PLEASE DO!! Scattering these "seeds" of inspiration far and wide is the only way to propagate the idea. Perhaps one day we might even have something equivalent to a Union Steward representing nudist employees and negotiating benefit and pay packages on our behalf; not that this would be ideal, but maybe in some alternate universe it is already happening.

And as I said - nudism is regarded, in general, as a quirky thing, and unusual.

And job seeker who boasts of it during the screening process will be, uh SCREENED OUT. Even if the person with the job opening is a nudist him/herself.
Anyone hiring doesn't usually care about what you do on your own time. They do care if you discuss things, or wish to make them issues in the workplace.

KEEP YOUR NUDISM SEPARATE FROM YOUR EMPLOYMENT SITUATION. What you are proposing is pure adolescent / young adult fantasy.

The adolescent/young adult fantasy sometimes works. Saw a flyer posted at a resort I frequent. A young girl about 12-14 advertising her dog walking service. Not really a career path but certainly a nice start.

Would the girl walk the dogs at the nudist resort? Then it would really be a nude job, otherwise, unfortunately not.

Since I work on air conditioners, I don't think a nude HVAC Tech is in the works, since I'm usually on top of the roofs and exposed to the general public. Although I have ran across a lot customers who have stated they had to put something on before opening the door (they throw on a light robe or a towel), I just don't think the general public is comfortable seeing a naked A/C repairman on top of a house. But if allowed, I'm game. lol
