    guiness book

I was in both world record skinny dips. in 2009 and 2010. I've looked in the 2009 and 2011 books and can't find any mention of the record. Anybody know where in the book to find it or if it has actually been published? No mention of an attempt this year either.

Guinness does not publish every verified world record in the book. They chose not to publish this one.

The 2009 record was established by default because it was the first attempt at the record. I don't recall the 2010 attempt as to whether it broke the '09 one.

My understanding is that AANR chose not to go for it again in 2011; they got the publicity they wanted in '09 but to continue to break it annually results in a lot of paperwork, etc. AND -- the record didn't make it into the book in the first place.

There was going to be a "nude hula hooping" attempt, but Guinness, AFAIK, does not allow "qualified" records. Skinny dipping is an activity in itself, but "hula hooping while nude" is a "qualified" activity and probably wouldn't make it into the book as a "nude" record. Even if they broke the record of simulataneous hula hoopers, there probably would be no entry as to the state of dress/undress of the participants.

So...ooo.... there just has to be another way to get in the papers, I guess....

    Lightbulb Re: guiness book

In the spirit of our shared au natural philosophies, maybe Naked would sponsor a "Book of Naked Records"??? They have a major corporate presence in the UK if you want to leverage the ethnic rivalry with Guiness, get British Naturism involved, and of course drive Stu nuts.

...I'm imagining a thousand ways to link records to Naked products -- most Naked apple pickers in a single orchard, most Naked Green Machine hikers in a mountain meadow, most Naked Smoothies in a city park, not to mention most Naked Coconuts in a marathon...

    Good idea.

Would have to be specific as to what you counted as "coconuts." I can think of several...
I'm aging like fine wine ... I'm getting complex and fruity.

Yes -- they will publish nearly any verified record that falls within their rules on their website -- but NOT in the hardcopy books.

    Reading this makes me thirsty.
The best drinks are named after places. Burgundy, France. Tequila, Mexico. 六安茶, 安徽. Pepsi Cola, Florida.
